Scattered Showers and Dark Sky

This was looking at the sky when I got home this evening from the ballgame that they won 19-0. They had one of the other teams  watching them play that they are to play next week. They have been lucky, but they also have practice two times a week. They are constantly working with the boys and girl when she is there to play better.  It was a little warm this evening watching. The clouds really looked like it was going to rain, but all we got was a sprinkle and it rained on me coming home just enough to be a nuisance to where you had to run the wipers. The rainbow was pretty to look at as I was driving home.
Look at what was back at our airport again this week. They had school going on with several different countries here taking part in it. Our c-130's fly over the house quite often. We use to go over to the cafe at the airport so we could watch the planes. You never knew who or what you were going to see. The life fight helicopter that is stationed  there can land at the hubby's nursing home. We watch it land and take off when they had the health fair.
Have you ever priced a walk-in bath tub? Well I did and I was absolutely shocked at the price. Believe me they are far from being cheap. I think they are made of gold.
I won't get to watch the boys ride this weekend. I have a bridal shower that I am going to with my daughter. The shower gift is done except for pressing so you probably know what she is getting. I will post pictures after this weekend. Something new that I did and I really liked how it turned out.
My oldest won't be going to summer school. They didn't have enough kids sign up for it. I don't know if he was disappointed or not. I was looking forward to playing chauffeur for him and his friend. Oh!well I can understand where they are coming from if they don't have enough to make it worthwhile. .
I finished up two custom orders this week so you know my hands have been busy, but when you don't have a lot of changing colors they go faster. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I will be popping in and out as time permits. We have a doctor appointment this next week. Hopefully the doctor can give us some answers. I just keep hoping for a miracle. It is always better to thinking positive then negative.
Have a wonderful weekend. Take care.

MEMORIAL WEEKEND

The sky at one point today. We have only had a light shower so far today, but it is on the chilly side. It makes you wonder who is going to get the rain. I would have liked some sunshine and maybe 70's today.
Cookouts aren't going to be that much fun for sure, but though a bonfire might feel good with the dampness of the air. They can be thankful that the races were last night instead of tonight.

My younger two grandsons with Legos playing with a  portion of Matt's. It  isn't even a small portion of what my middle grandson has in the way of legos. He wanted some more today, but he didn't have enough money for them. They are both very creative when it comes to building.
It keeps him quiet and at times that is what he needs. The bigger of the two is the youngest. He has already put in his order of what he wants for his birthday which isn't until August. He wants his Aunt Trish to make him one of the cobblers that she makes over the open fire and Uncle Pat to bring one of the horses to ride. She hasn't baked a birthday cake in quite awhile because everybody loves the cobblers. They do the cobblere for the Pumpkin fest in October as a fun raiser for the club.
This is the first year FFA member's at my grandson's high school. A nice group and they all have different interest. School for the older two ends Wednesday. Then summer school will start. It is going to be a busy summer. It will really go by fast.

Hubby over did his walking and so the hip is giving him problems. I keep telling him he has to build up his distance each time not try to do it all in one day. I told the nurse who walks him to not let him go so far, but make him do it more gradual. We didn't go outside today because it was just to cool and damp.
Hope you all are enjoying your weekend. If traveling, please be safe. We have already had several accidents in our area. They just need to slow down. Take care.

Stormy Morning

The morning started off with thunder, lightening and rain with the temperature in the 50's. My electricity was off for a while for some reason but I don't know why.
The view outside hubby's window. He can look at the roses and watch the temperature gauge besides seeing who comes and goes in the parking lot. He likes the view so much better then the old room, plus has had better roommates.
The first horse show of the season is over and you needed to dress warm. We started the morning with frost on the ground and finally late afternoon it warmed up to the low 60's.

Matt got to show Fergie and that is the horse that he will show this season. He didn't do games and he didn't really want to do it. He did halter, trail, and walk trot. He looks so little on such a big horse, but then she takes care of him. All of the horses wasn't really liking the cool weather. They wanted to stay where it was warmer. Brother only did games in the afternoon. I don't know why we didn't show that morning. He wouldn't answer my question. He was doing o.k. because he got to ride Mud Bug for one of the other club member. He acts up with the owner, but didn't with Jake. We will see what happens at the next horse show.

Miss Bailey rode Cleo in the grand entry. She had never rode her until that morning and Cleo had never been around the flag before. They did an awesome job and Bailey told Jake it was a girl thing that Cleo behave so good. She rode her again in egg and spoon.

We actually were through before dark, but then we started at 9 A.M. Dad spend his time being in the arena with the judge.

I have been keeping busy embroidering tea towels. Horses, cows, you name it. I just have to keep the hands busy with something.

Well I need to get myself in gear and run my errands. I  had to wait until today to get my meds. The pharmacy didn't have enough to fill the order. It seems to happen that way quite often.

I have been praying for all of my friends during the stormy weather. Hoping they survived the flooding, the fires in Arizona and all of the other happenings. If you ride a motorcycle, please be careful. We have had one killed and one in the hospital in serious condition. Have a wonderful holiday weekend. Traveling be safe. Take care

Look What came to visit

Look what I found sitting on my roof when I came home from the nursing home. I have never seen one that close and he didn't fly off the roof very fast. It might have had something to do with the dead squirrel laying in the street. I was rather surprised to see it needless to say. I have a path through my yard made by the deer that come up through the ravine that is across the road from my house and driveway.
It has been on the chilly and cool side here the last few days. I would much rather have the 70's back. You wonder what the weekend will bring.

My baseball player whose team is 3-0. You can't miss seeing them because  of their bright safety yellow green shirts. It is fun to watch them play. This week's game is early so maybe it won't cool off as quick. Their ball field is on the outskirts of town with the highway and train tracks running by it. You get a breeze if there is one.The field they play on this week I won't have to worry about looking into the sun. Then up early on Saturday morning to the horse show which starts at nine. I don't think they will be able to give them a bath as sold as it is.
I thought I would show you a couple of my new tea towels. It was my first attempt at making a paint horse. I enjoy making them for people .This is suppose to be a palomino, a bay, and a paint. it was ready to be washed and pressed.  I am always looking for something different to try. The second one the pattern was traced with my new iron on pens. They worked really well. I was amazed at them because I had never worked with them before.Does anyone have problems getting their pictures to load right?
I have been waiting for a tree trimmer all afternoon to give me a bid on taking some limbs off of a tree that is to close to the roof of the house. They called yesterday and they said they would be here today. Hubby got involved with some other activities that he wouldn't have done if I had been there so that was very good.

I hope everyone is having a good week. The weather has been unpredictable. We have had the storm warnings, but we were missed thank goodness for that. It depended on where you were at here in town with what you got. I will be popping in and out as time permits. Take care

Happy Mother's Day

It is our special Sunday for being a mother. Please take time out of your day to make a phone call, make a short visit if possible, let them know that you care. You never know when they will no longer be with us and then you wish you had gone more often to see them.
My mother and mother-in-law are both deceased, but I still think of them and the things that they have taught me. Some things I wish that I had paid more attention to, but didn't. My mom was there for all of us kids and our friends as we were growing up. Always a house full of kids.
Those precious moments of watching my children grow into adults with their own children. My daughter celebrating her 20th anniversary of working for the same company yesterday. They had lunch then dairy queen ice cream cake. I asked her if it seemed like it was 20 years, she said no, but it is. She started right after she graduated from college with her brand new truck that we co-signed for her. Our banker loaned her the money and wished her luck with her new job. Now days you wouldn't be able to get a loan that easy. Small banks are a lot different then the big banks where you feel like you are only a number.
The wonderful feeling of knowing that all three have their college degrees makes you have that wonderful feeling when you look at their accomplishments. You watch them raising their children showing them that they need to work to accomplish their dreams. Just telling them that they need to do the job to the best of their ability. It is amazing what they can do if they really want to do so.
We had some crazy weather this week and I have been missing. Just to many things right now and not enough hours in the day. I have missed all of you and enjoy every one of your visits to my rambling. Have a beautiful day tomorrow. I am not sure what my day will bring, but I will be visiting the nursing home. I have been spending more time there making sure that all of the doctor's orders are being done.
Happy Mother's Day and enjoy your weekend. Ours is sun shining so far. Take care.

Roller Coaster Ride

This week has been one roller coaster ride dealing with the nursing home and spending time at the ER with my daughter not knowing what was wrong. The ER's now days can't do some of the vital tests to tell you if you are having a heart attack. They don't  really tell you anything just  send you home with the instructions to see a heart doctor in 72 hours. You would think that they would try to find out why you are having chest pains. She was lucky to see the heart doctor in the same day. So far all of the tests that was done at the doctor's office came back negative for a heart attack, but god forbid they try to check that out at the hospital. Our new insurance is the pits. They want you to have home health care instead of doctor hospital care. They think just changing your life style will cure everything.  Hubby is still not feeling the best in the world, just doesn't feel like eating. You can tell that he wasn't feeling good just by looking at him. It was so pretty today that we went outside for a while. There was several outside so we all set around talking.
The last time all of my brothers and sisters were together at my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. It was taken in 1979 so you can imagine all of our ages, but we always had a good time when we were together with all our our kids. We always lived on the farm moving a lot until my dad's mother told him that he had to get a farm of his own which my youngest brother still lives on. She past away in 1959 my senior year of high school. We would go spend the weekend with her. She lived in Iowa and she would always call the dime store telling them if we didn't have enough money just to put it on her bill and she would come up and take care of it. Mom and dad gave us money and she would too. Back in the 40's and 50's penny's bought an awful lot of candy. An Ice cream cone was an ice cream cone making ours today look small. You learn at an early age how to help feed chickens, milk cows, put up hay. You didn't bale it you put it up loose and we got to help pack it down in the hay loft. Shucked corn piling it on the ground until dad came with the team of horses and wagon. You ate what was fixed and you didn't get to be picky. The good ole days.
My youngest grandson has had two ballgames. The first they won 17-5 and the second 17-6. Last night he had a triple and two doubles, plus hitting foul balls over the fence. He told us he was sorry because they came over the fence where we were sitting.
State competition was awesome for my oldest so proud of their horse judging team getting 7th out of 47 teams. He is already thinking about next year. I am so glad that he enjoys school. My middle one is keeping a log to when he has dizzy spells and all, but it really doesn't slow him down. It makes us adjust to him so that he can hear us. They are all more computer smart then I am that is for sure.
The Apple Blossom parade was today with a lot of other things going on in town. The were having a BBQ cook off in town. You got to sample after the winners were announced. They had entertainment plus ball tournaments so you could have your choice as to what you wanted to do.
Enough rambling, I hope you all are enjoying your weekend. Take care.
