Merry Christmas

Last day for shopping to get those last minute things. The mad dash to the grocery store for something that you forgot. I am glad that my shopping is all done. It is another cloudy drizzly day They are predicting snow, but who really knows.
The family will be gathering at the nursing home later this afternoon for Christmas with hubby. He will get to see his three grandsons and catch up with them.
I have been going up and checking on him. He has a new friend who is having to move to a nursing home. They both know people in common so it gives them something to talk about. His family has kinda adopted hubby as part of theirs. We all set at the supper table last night visiting for a while.
I had to go to the city Monday for my mammogram. It rained all the way down and back. Everything was fine which I knew it would be. I was glad to be home because when the semi's passed you. It was hard to see. I don't know why people drive without their head lights. I had them on because it is a state law that if your windshield wipers are going, your head lights are to be on.
The baby quilt is progressing slowly, but I will get it done. Three days until my oldest will be home. We are all anxiously awaiting to see him especially three boys. They are already making plans on what they want him to do with them. Hopefully we can find the time to take a family picture which I would love to have. We haven't had one for quite a while.
Midnight mass is always a beautiful time of the year. We would go and then come home to eat together before heading home. Of course, you never slept late after the kids came because they were always sure to wake you up. I miss it, but I don't want to go by myself.
It is getting better each year, but I still think of my dad who passed a way on Christmas Day. I have lit my candle for all of those in need and said my prayer for all of them. My list keeps growing, buy I don't have to worry about a fire because my candle  is battery operated. It looks so pretty with the flame flickering.
Whether you stay at home or traveling, be safe and have a wonderful Merry Christmas. I won't say don't eat to much because we always do with all of the cookies, candies, and other special food we only eat once a year. You know you have to have chocolates.
Enjoy family and friends and if you know someone who needs just a phone call to say Merry Christmas. Do it. It will make them feel good and you too  I need to run. I will be back . Merry Christmas

Are you Ready Yet??

The snow is coming down, and it looks like this outside this morning. I can't tell how much we have got, but they cancelled a lot of schools. Why can't people just slow down when the weather gets like this? The older two grandsons had school today. We haven't even got that much yet.
My day will be spent working on a baby quilt. It is progressing better then I had thought. I didn't have one even started so it will take a little while. I never keep track of my time when I am making something because I know people wouldn't buy it that way.
Yesterday I got to go to school for my grandson's program. They portray famous Missourian. They have their board about their lives and dressed as close to how they might have dressed during their time. My grandson was J. C. Penney founder of the J C Penny store.I stay until school was out and then took him home. The first thing he did when he got into the car was turn the electric seat on. He told me my car sure had a lot of bells and whistles.
We had to do the chores when we got to their house because he had basketball practice. They were to start a tournament tonight but I don't know if they will have it or it will be cancelled.
The only thing I helped with was taking care of the dogs. He did the rest and then we did his exercises because he has physical therapy tomorrow at Children's MercY Hospital.
The update on hubby is that he is stable for him. The portal vein in his liver is block for one thing and she did adjust some of the medications, but we have had 15 years since he first became sick. We are having Christmas Eve with him at the nursing home. All the kids will be there except our oldest who will be in the 27th for a few days which will really go fast. We have stretch Christmas over several days. We want to take a family picture while everyone is home. We haven't done that for quite a while.
I thought my let it snow tea towel fit the day really well because that is what it is doing. My custom order is on their way to a new home in time for Christmas, They should arrive Friday. I still have a few Christmas cards to address, but shopping I took the easy way out and just got gift cards.
It was just a little of this and a little of that. Take care. Have a joyous season. Merry Christmas

SAY A PRAYER TONIGHT

Say a prayer tonight for us that the ultra sound that they are doing tomorrow is still the same and that the liver hasn't got worse. I know that the blood work shows that a few more things are out of sink.
I know that we have been fortunate for so very long since he first got sick. They changed to a new nurse practitioner at the nursing home from the one that I liked
We won't know the results until we go back down the following week to see the doctor. I just hope  the weather holds. I know I have to be at the nursing home beore 7 to go with him.
I thought I would show you the jewelry box that my 15 year old grandson made. It is made out of maple and cherry. I thought he did a beautiful job. He will sell it if you need a Christmas present for some one. His mom made two small baskets for a charity auction and they were surprised at what they sold for. One was 45.00 and the other 55.00. All total they made about $3000.00 for the charity. The items sold were all made by the woodworkers guild members.
My craft shows are over and now I can just take care of my etsy shop. My chicken pattern has sold as quick as I get them done. The weekend was busy.My middle grandson's basketball team lucked out and won by 1 point. My youngest grandson got 3rd in the space derby at cub scouts.
A few of them including my youngest grandson is ringing the bell at the mall next weekend for the Salvation Army.He did it last year. It is teaching them how to volunteer for their community service badge.
Well I better close for tonight as I have to be up early in the morning. Take care.

YEAR FLYING

It is the first day of December and you wonder just where has the year gone. It is as though you have blinked your eyes and the month is gone. It has been a trying year for me. I have made it with God's help.
Thanksgiving was a busy day with spending time with the family at my Son's house. I had a lot of fun watching all three grandsons. We ate entirely to much. Have you seen the Ding Dong cake that was being posted on Face Book? Well my daughter made it. It was yummy, but she learned that her non-stick pans do stick. It was yummy anyway. Some of the meal was traditional, but some was not.
The afternoon was spent trying to get a Christmas list from the boys. We only buy for them. I am toying with the idea of giving them money to spend on what they want. They are getting so hard to buy for as they get older. They already have to much or it is out of my price range.
I have been busy getting ready for my last Craft Show which is this next Sunday 9-3. Then a Christmas party after it across the street for the saddle club.
My bunny table runner is on it's way to a new home down under. Whatever of my new towels I don't sell at the craft show will be going into my etsy shop.
I am on my 4th towel since last Monday. Depending on the design how long it will take me to embroider it. My rooster, hen, and baby are coming along nicely. .
We will celebrate Christmas on the 24th at the nursing home, then Christmas Day more quiet, and then the 27th when my oldest comes home for a visit. If he had known sooner, he could have flown home for Thanksgiving, but he wasn't about to spend big bucks for only 4 days. He had a 4 day weekend.
The boys are anxious as we all are. The younger two was helping feed the horses, walk the dogs with my son when I left to go to the nursing home. I spent the day at home yesterday. I needed to catch up on some rest.
Well I wanted to let you know that I am still here. I will be busy for a few more days then I will try to get around to visit more. Have a wonderful day. Be careful shopping because we have those who like to take advantage of people and steal things that don't belong to them. I will take a day when someone can go with me if I really want to shop.
Take care.
