Are you Ready??

Are you ready for the weekend? The fireworks have started already in the neighborhood. I hate to say what it will be like in the next few days, but probably very noisy. We are supposed to have rain this Saturday and Sunday. We need the rain to keep the fireworks from starting a fire.
My oldest will be in either late Friday night or Saturday and be starting a new job the following week. I am just happy that he will be closer to home.
Summer school officially comes to a close today. My middle grandson has learned about the building that he will be in when school starts in the fall or rather I should say August. School keeps starting earlier and earlier every year. Both boys are looking forward to going to the Pony Express Day camp. They will be learning the history that is not being taught in the schools or at least in our area.
Do you have plans for the 4th of July?  My daughter is having us to her house for a cookout and the boys will be shooting off fireworks. I just know I will be glad when it is over.
We found out that hubby is losing his hearing. He has lost 80 percent in one ear and 30 percent in the other ear. My grandson that wears the hearing aid says that his hearing is worse than his. I told him if his grandson could wear one he could also.  I was told that we could get help with hearing aids with him being in the nursing home. He is feeling neglected because I don't stay as long as I use to. The boys only will sit there for so long and then they want to go. I took his youngest to see him twice this month.
Tonight is their fireworks celebration at the nursing home. They will serve them hot dogs, chips, watermelon, and root beer floats. I can see his blood sugars now.  I will take my grandson home and after his mom gets home to go back for that. If I don't hubby will be mad. It will make it a long day for me.
We don't have horse shows until this next weekend the 9th and 10th of July. He is a little disappointed because he won't get to go to state because of some new rule changes. I think they are going to go watch the other kids show. I may go with them so that I can say I have been there once.
I have been busy with the boys and my embroidering. I will show you what I have been doing after it reaches its new home.
Take care. Be careful. Have a safe 4th of July.

IS IT HOT WHERE YOU LIVE???

Has it been hot where you live? We have had several days that have been uncomfortable. We could sure use some rain because everything is getting so dry.
I am sure glad my grandson got the hay put up before the worse heat hit. He got to drive the tractor instead of stacking or throwing bales, but did get sunburned. I didn't get sunburned this last weekend at the horse show. I got wind burned.
My son has been showing Juliet in halter because it seems like that is when my grandson has to go to work. His friend shows her in the riding classed. He got to pick on some of his fellow employee's the other evening because that is where he wanted to go for his birthday. It doesn't seem like he should be 17 years old. I can remember the day he was borned
Matt and tea biscuit were having a discussion before the first class at one of the horse shows. Each time he shows him it gets a little better. This past week he was learning to ride him without stirups and no reins. He was using his legs. I got to see the video.
I will be heading out to get him from school in a while.
I felt sorry for the lady who was a little older then me that couldn't remember where she parked her car at the grocery store. The store employee was going to help her What age or when do we relinquish our driving privileges? I know that it would be hard to do. I try to park where there is a row number or something that I can relate to when I go to my car. Of course, I could set off the alarm on my car to help me find it.
I will have two boys coming up instead of one. I don't think I will have a problem. My oldest will be coming closer to home in about another week. He got the job  that he applied for which makes me very happy. He is looking forward to moving back to this area. He get to see family more often which his nephews can't wait. They are marking off calendars.
I am glad that we didn't have a ball game the night it was so hot and there wasn't any air moving. I just thought that I would check in and let you know that I am still alive. Busy with the grandsons, hubby, and other things.
Still try to go to the nursing home about every day for a short visit before I go to pick up our middle grandson. Yesterday, my oldest grandson stopped in to see him and he was surprised. I told him you never knew who was going to drop by.
Well it is time to go so I will check in with you all later. Take care.

A Boy and A Horse

Horse show season officially got under way the 21st of May. Meet T-biscuit who my grandson is showing this summer. He is a big horse for a little boy, who I am spending time with this summer. Right now he is going to summer school and loving it. He is officially in the 6th grade and getting use to the building and how he changes class rooms for the fall. They go just like a regular class day will be.
The first show he got 3 seconds and 1 third. He has learned to lope on this horse which he really likes to do now. His 4 H leader and horse lesson teacher picked the right horse for him. He is showing again this weekend so we are praying for good weather and no rain. I, also, will be going to a ball game. My youngest grandson is playing. I didn't think I was going to have a conflict, but all the rain we got caused several games to be made up and this will be one of them. I will make it.
The holiday weekend went much to fast. My oldest flew in on Friday and I was his chauffeur for the weekend. I even got to take him to the airport on Monday. When he was in the service, I would cry every time I put him on the plane, but I didn't do that this time. I only told him I wanted to park on the top level and not in the parking garage. You could see what was around you better and didn't have to worry about other things.  I am very careful when I go by myself with everything that goes on in our city and other places any more.
Maybe he might be moving closer to home, he did have a job interview when he flew in on Friday. We will just have to wait and see. Right now he works 13 days straight and 1day off. He just wants to be closer to home and family.
We went to his brother's Saturday evening while he was in. He spent the night with my grandson above. He gave up his bed for his Uncle. My grandson helped his Uncle build the fire so my daughter-in-law could make what I call a harvest meal in her dutch oven over the fire. It is potatoes, sweet potatoes, green and red peppers, onions, with polish sausage all cooked together. Sometimes she adds green beans and corn to it also. Then she made a jello cake. Things that she knows my oldest likes. She made him cinnamon rolls for one thing for breakfast. They don't help the blood sugar, but they were good for a change. She likes to cook. She is running the cook shack this summer for our horse shows.
It was nice on Sunday so we went and saw his dad. We sat outside in the gazebo so that he wouldn't have an asthma attack from the smells in the nursing home. I went in and brought his dad out to the gazebo. They had a nice visit. I don't spend as much time at the nursing home right now. My grandson and I pop in every now and then or I pop in when I go to pick him up at school.
We ate several different places while he was in town. The time just seemed to fly by so fast. I don't know where the month of May went. June is off and running. My oldest grandson turns 17 the 12th of June. The fall will bring his senior year of high school. I hate to admit the kids are growing up. It makes me feel like I am getting old. It is something that happens to all of us.
I wanted you all to know I am still hear and I do read your blog's just don't leave a comment at times. Take care.
