The Weekend

The weekend is officially here and I was so ready for two days off. It actually cooled down a little today with a little rain, just enough be a nuisance. Tomorrow will be a little busy, but it is something for me. I am having a mammogram done in the morning that I have been putting off because it wouldn't fit the schedule. I found out that they are open now on every other Saturday, plus you don't have to have an appointment.
You all are probably wondering about the birthday greetings. This next month the 19th I will be celebrating a big birthday and wanted you all to share it with me. I am going to have a surprise giveaway to celebrate it. I know part of it will be some of my handy work and I be posting more about that in the next few days.
This is one of my blue birds tea towel that I finished. Depending on the design determines how long it takes me to do it.
My pillowcases are done, ready to laundry, and take the pictures. I will let you tell me what you think. I have several to take pictures of and hope to  get it done over the weekend.  I had put my baby quilt aside while I was working on wedding presents. I got it back out and want to get it finished next. The picture is not mine, but hopefully mine will look just as good as the one I found in Herschner's catalogue.
I am so excited, they are quilting my quilt that I embroidered. It is getting closer to a reality. They called to see if I wanted to make any last minute changes. I have given the quilter free range . I trust them to do a good job. I really like their quilt shop. It is small, but they are so helpful and the fabrics are really special.
Well I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, Stay cool.

July Almost Gone

I don't know where the month has gone, but it is sure moving fast. It seems as though it started yesterday. I just know that it is moving to quickly to suit me.
We cooled down a little today from a horrible hot weekend. On Saturday, it was 89 at 10:30 in the morning. We only did what was absolutely necessary and then stayed home in the air-condition the rest of the day.
Our kids got home from their trip. They had a good time, but hot just like here at home. They had a horse show in the evening, but they didn't think they were going because of the heat. We got a phone call telling us my son was going to ride. They reserved us a spot so we could sit in the car in the air-condition and watch. I had been trying to get him to do it and he wouldn't. It was wonderful to see him ride Cleo and place 2nd in his age group. It was a good night for the boys and dad. Matt thought he was king pin because he rode Cleo in the Walk Trot for 6 years and under. He got 1st in the group. It shows you how gentle she is with kids. Jake got 2nd on her in the same evening. I am so glad they found her. It was enjoyable and I got my wish.
I have got another project almost complete. I just have to finish putting the lace around the bottom and I will have a set of pillowcases to show you. I don't know what the next project is going to be. I just know I have to keep the hands and mind busy thinking about other things instead of the doctor appointments coming up.
I see little things that I don't know if there is a problem or not. I know that he says he has no energy at times and uses the wheelchair more when we are out. He might walk into a restaurant if it is not to far, but if we are going to Walmart, the grocery store, or other shopping it is back in the wheel chair.
My oldest son takes him with him part time to give me some time to myself.
We still have the flood waters . The only problem it causes us is when we want to go see some family. We can get there only using a different route. I just feel so sorry for the ones that their homes are under water. They don't have a clue as to when they will be able to get in to check anything. So terrible. Some one said that they thought we were being told something, by the flood, the tornados, and the heat this year. Worse trouble it doesn't seem to matter where you live.
Well I am off to do some reading before I call it a day. I hope you all have a wonderful week. Stay cool if possible.

Is it Cool At Your House

Good Morning, I know it is early for me this morning to do a post, but I had to get up and I knew if I laid back down I wouldn't hear the alarm. I am catching up with some of my friends.
Is everybody staying cool in this heat? They say the best places to go at the moment is Alaska and Hawaii for cooler weather. My Uncle lives in Montana and he says they still have snow in the mountains.
I thought my picture would make me think it will be cool today, that is laugh because it is already 80 degrees at 6 O'clock in the morning. I get the same lecture about be sure that I drink lots of water. My son and his family went on vacation this week. He said that it was cooler in Branson then we are here at home.
I have been hit and miss here in blog land. I am still working on wedding presents. I have two down and one to go. I don't know what my next project. I haven't been decided if I like the sticky paper that you copy your picture on and then just peel the back and stick it on what ever you are embroidering. I do know that it does dissolve in warm water. I like that part about it . I think it will depend on the type of material that you use to whether it is easy to embroidering on,
Well it is time for me to go out the door to work. I hope you all have a wonderful day and stay cool.

AC Stopped

Today has been extremely hot in more ways then one. The air conditioning was working early, then it decided to quit. It didn't take long for the house to warm up. We did everything we knew to do. It sounded like it was trying to click in, but couldn't. I called our air-conditioning man. First got the answering machine and thought oh no. What next. I was talking to one of the guys I work with to see if possibly he had a cell number, when our AC man called. I explained the situation and he said he would be right here.
It seemed like forever, but in reality it didn't take that long for him to get here and fix it. I was really thankful for that.
The first picture is my daughter's flowers on her deck. I took them when we were there the 4th of July.
Our youngest grandson, after shooting off fireworks with his uncle John. Running with his cousins, and puppies all evening just wore him out. He missed the night works. He was going to watch he said. It was so cute.
They cancelled the horse show today for which I was so extremely happy about because there would have been no way we could have gone and watched the boys. I know the last weekend we went . It was really warm.
The next two pictures are of Jake helping Matt exercise his pony to get ready for his pee wee barrels. He is going to be my racer because he like the game part of the horseshow, where brother likes the western pleasure part. I don't care what they do as long as they do something that they like and keeps them out of trouble.
The last picture is mom and dad working to get ready for the lead in class that they took third. You can tell Matt is really a happy camper because he is riding Cleo. He thinks he is hot stuff when he gets to do that.

They are going on vacation this week. It isn't the best of time to go, but the kids only have a month until school starts. I don't know where the summer has gone.
Everybody try to stay as cool as possible. I am not ready for 100 degree weather, but they are prediciting it for four days this next week. Have a great week. Off to read some of my friend's blogs.

Hot Hot and Stormy

I am ready for the cold weather instead of this heat that we are having now. We hit 99 with triple digit heat index. When the cold front came through, it dropped 30 degrees and rained so hard you could not see the highway. The wind was really strong, but after it was over, you got to see a beautiful rainbow.
Matt has been riding Cleo all by his self and he thinks he is really a big king pin. He looks small on her that is for sure. He competed in the lead in class. He actually was controlling her, but dad's or mom's walks along side with a lead in rope for safety precautions.
They got third and he was so proud. He says he is collecting ribbons.
Brother placed in the halter class with her, but it wasn't to be had in the other classes. He got judge down because the judge didn't like how he held his reins. Oh well, it is a learning experience and close to home. It is within a mile of the house. We have another show this weekend on Sunday. I think that is the last one until September.
They are going on a short vacation and then it is a break for everyone. They have been running with soccer, t-ball and now the horses. He doesn't want to play football which I am just as glad.
I have been working on wedding presents. I have one done and another one half done with one more to go.
I am going to try to catch up on my blog reading tonight. I have been doing some, but not where I could leave you all a comment. I hope everyone is having a good week and trying to stay cool from the heat.
Take care.

4th of July Over, but still fireworks

The 4th of July is officially over, but someone still has fireworks. They think they can shoot them longer, but it infers with sleep. I would like to know who shot them in my back acre and left the mess for us to pickup.
This week has absolutely flown, but I am ready for it to come to an end. It rained quite a while today which we really didn't need with the river running so high. You have so many rumors flying that you really don't know who to believe anymore. I think they really play on people's fears. Insurance companies are going to try to get out of paying because they say it is not an act of god.
We went on Saturday to the last t-ball game. It was a little warm, but there was a nice breeze and we had a shade tree we could sit under to watch the game. I still laugh at the little one playing in the dirt. You thought that he wasn't playing attention, but he sticks out his glove and stops the ball. It was funny.
We had a good weekend with being with all of our family on the 4th of July. My daughter, also, includes her husband's family. So we get to visit with them, also.  If you went away hungry, it was no body's fault, but  your own. My oldest grandson made mini cheese cakes . He was so proud of himself. We had strawberries dipped in white almond bark with edible blue glitter on the tip. You name it, we had it. My contribution was the veggie tray.
The boys had so much fun shooting fireworks with their Uncle John. Of course, he doesn't spoil them much since he is back home and gets to see them more often. Ethan fell asleep in his chair. He was going to watch the fireworks. I knew he would and Matt fell asleep before they were three blocks away from Angie's.
This weekend is the horse show on both Saturday and Sunday. Matt is going to do peewee barrels. My oldest grandson showed grandma how to take a video on my camera so that will be an experiment. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, Take care.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY

This makes my second attempt  to do a blog tonight. The first one I lost and I don't know who's fault it was, but it is just how the whole day has gone. Anything that could go wrong, did go wrong. When the boss said we were closing early, I was more then ready to go. My computer at work locked up, my office was getting hot, and the asphalt smell was getting more then I wanted to tolerate. They have been several days asphalting our parking lot. The wind was in the south so all of the fumes was blowing into the building. I came home to a microwave that had gone on the fritz, plus it caused my boy's lunch to burn. I have a Panasonic, anybody got any suggestion as to the brand. I am probably going to try to fit that in sometime over the weekend.
Tomorrow we have a t-ball game at about 1 P.M. Whether we go will depend on the temperature at the time. Then it is basically free to do whatever we want until the 4th of July when we are going to our daughters for a picnic supper and fireworks.

I thought I would show you another one that I just finished. It is my stress reliever right at the moment. My order came today for another wedding present  so I will be working on it. I hope they will like it. My niece that got married a little over a year ago says that she thinks of us every time she uses her tea towels. I think that her sister might like something along that line.
It is quiet right at the moment. I wonder if it is to much to hope for that they ran out of fireworks. With the humidity, it means the smoke will hang in the air.I hope you all have a fun safe weekend.
