HAPPY EASTER

This is the official last day of March and I really don't know where the month has gone. We have had two beautiful days. We reached 82 degrees today with sunshine, but it was a little windy.
I got my wish tonight, my son shaved his beard off. His beard had a lot of gray in it from what he did in the service, stress at his job, and stress in life. I do believe that things will now begin to turn around it is just going to take time.
We went out to our son's tonight for awhile because I needed my grandma fix. My 5 year old and his dad was playing baseball when we got there. It is the wii games which is something else. Well he beat his dad , so his dad wanted to play something else. It was fun to hear that little voice say I won and see his dad's face. He told me about the Easter Egg hunt that he went to last night. It was on a football field.
I was so glad to see the day come to an end. We operated with three people, but I didn't get any of my work done upstairs because I spent the majority downstairs running it while one made deliveries and the other one got the loads ready to go.
Mark and his partner got voted off Dancing with the Stars which maybe was just as well because he has injure his knee and was going to have to be off for six weeks. His father was going to fill in. They didn't think that it was going to require surgery.
Well I need to do some other things so I must close for now. Have a wonderful Easter.

Spring Arrival

I thought she was so cute with her bunny. It is as though she is telling her bunny a secret.
It really felt like spring today with the temperature getting up to 77 degrees. It almost makes you think of summer weather and we are to be warmer tomorrow.

The sunshine looked so wonderful today even though it was a little windy. I don't know how many of you watch Dancing with the Stars, but I thought the wrong one got sent home tonight. I watch it a lot more then I do American Idol.

I know I tell my hubby we have to be home by a certain time so I can see my show. I don't usually watch, but the tv is on basically for the noise because I can not stand a quiet house. Even at work I keep my radio on.

I have been sharing my computer with my son so I don't always get it when I want, but tonight he wanted the television so we switched. He has already gone to bed so that means he has to go to work early in the morning. I know he was getting ready to leave the house as I was getting up.

Tomorrow will be quite a day because we are going to try to work it with only three of us. It can be done, but it will be hard. I will have to spend the time down stairs and I will have to let my work slide.

I better close for tonight, only three days left until the weekend. Have a great day.

A SUN SHINY SUNDAY

I found this cute little image when I visited my friend Mimi. I thought that he was so cute.

Today we had sunshine and we have made it up to 54 degrees and it is about 8:30 in the evening. The month is almost gone and I hope this next month is better weather wise. We could stand the sunshine and the warmer weather for a few days.

We went looking for a restaurant yesterday in the rain, we finally found where we thought it was only to find out later that she had moved so we will have to try again. She use to have one here and you never went away hungry. It was good home style cooking.

It was not fun shopping in the rain, but I parked as close to the stores as I could so that we didn't get to wet. Of course, you can't worry about getting dirty because I always get that when I am lifting the wheelchair in and out of the car.

That is why I wear blue jeans a lot.

My grandson Ethan is referring to Easter as his Easter Party because of celebrating his Uncle's birthday. He told him that he would be at his house at 8:00 , but I don't think he really knows the time that well.
I though I would share the picture of Kevin and Angie's bike that won first place at the bike show. My daughter rides this bike. It depends on the bike ride whether she rides her bike or rides as a passenger. I know that she was really proud of how he painted it. I am going to try to get a better picture of it.
My daughter-in-law was making her a dress for the Pony Express Sesquicentennial. She is volunteering for it and they want them to be in costume. She went to Liberty, Missouri to a shop that specializes in those kind of patterns to find her dress. Activities are being held during Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I don't know if we will go down or not because it is not that wheelchair friendly.
Have a wonderful week.

RAINNY SATURDAY

We have been out in the rain this morning and it rained hard. I need to do some more errands, but I want it to stop for a while. I think that is going to be wishful thinking.
Why does the weekends have to either have rain or something when you don't have to work at your day job? I would like the sunshine just for one weekend and hopefully that will be Easter Sunday.
One thing on the menu will be cheesecake with blueberry topping for the birthday boy. I know my responsibility will be the veggie tray and the dip. The two girls have the rest of the menu worked out between the two of them. Of course, there will be the Easter Egg hunt for the boys out in the yard. Then they come in to see what they get. You never know what is inside the eggs. I know the older two will color the Easter Eggs, but I don't know about my youngest grandson. He is unpredictable in what he is going to do or say.
I have a package to get ready for my niece. She wanted my train pillowcases for her little boy and my teapot tea towel for her mom. She lives not to far from where my son worked so he is going to be my delivery person and probably eat supper with them that evening. He has stayed with them when the weather got bad and didn't want to make the drive home.
I have been working on my Snoozy quilt, but I had to lay it aside.
I was asked about taking time for myself, I do. I tune everybody out, visit my blog friends, and spend time working on one of my many unfinished projects. I do something I like to do. I am going to watch one of my shows that I like. I plan to be home so I can watch Dancing with the Stars, because I like to dance and don't get the opportunity anymore. I like when we can catch the International Ballroom competition. I haven't like American Idol this season. I don't understand how they picked the talent I guess I am from the old school. I really do like music, but not when they scream and they call it singing.
I am going to work some more on my quilt. I still have time, but I don't want to wait until the last minute because little ones come when they want and not when you want it to happen.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

RAIN RAIN RAIN

Today started off with rain and has continued to rain all day long. I was in hopes that I didn't have to make a trip to the city to get my son's car this evening. I didn't for which I am thankful for. His sister will take him to work in the morning, I just have to drop him off at her mother-in-law's house on my way to work.
The day went better then yesterday. I just stayed as much as possible up in my office and left the downstairs to the other two. It was just fine to me as I needed to spend time on the computer and sometimes when you have to stop in the middle you do dumb things like post debits as credits then wonder why it doesn't balance.
We are to get sunshine back tomorrow, but it won't be as warm as yesterday, but at least we don't have the snow. The ground is so soggy that you swish when you walk across the yard.
My boy is doing better, he spent the majority of the day sleeping and using his breathing machine. He is planning on going back to work tomorrow. He looks better tonight and he ate better this evening so that means he is feeling better also.
We will be doing Easter and my son's birthday at our daughter's house. The main thing is the family will be together for the day. I will enjoy spending the time with my three boys. My oldest is getting to be quite a little crafter. He has been cutting out puzzles out of different kinds of wood. The turtle puzzle turned out very cute, but he said there was a problem because the one part would only come out one way. If he hadn't told me, I wouldn't know that . He made some to give to his teachers so that they remember him being he will be moving to middle school in the fall. I am hoping he will let me show you at least pictures, but he has to think about it. He loves to draw as much as his dad does so he comes by the talent naturally as both parents are very talented. They are trying to get a faster internet service at home, but I don't know.
Another day has come to end for me and I really need to get some rest. Take care.

LONG TIRING DAY

My day didn't start off very good with my being a whopping 5 minutes late to work and you would swear the way they was carrying on that I was hours late. I don't know what side of bed they got out of because their attitude didn't change as the day went on.
I was glad to see quitting time and get out in that wonderful 66 degrees, sunshine, and a light breeze. It truly made you feel as though Spring was here.
I checked with my son to see what he would like for dinner only to hear his voice and know that he had a bad enough asthma attack that I didn't want him driving home. I fed my hubby some supper and off we went to Lenexa, Kansas where he works to get him. Round trip was two and a half hours. I don't know if I could do it every day, but then I know that you go where you can find a job now days.
He ate a little after he got home and went to bed which is the best thing for him, but it causes mom to have a roller coaster of emotion for a while. Between him and his father, I can have my hands full at times. With God's help, I manage to do whatever I have to do to take care of the situation. I then have to unwind so that I can sleep. I use to cry every time I had to put my husband in the hospital at first, but now it is not quite that bad and if I do cry, I try not to cry in front on them.
I gave myself the bouquet of flowers because I thought I needed them.
I had something happen in my etsy shop that was really strange. I had someone heart my shop and one of the items in my shop, which I was feeling good about because I had gotten up to 90 which meant I was getting closer to a 100, but this evening I look after I got home and they were gone. I know we have people there doing things that they shouldn't so I don't know if that was the reason or not, because they talked like they are going to ban some of them. I will wait and see.
Well I really must close for tonight.

Heat Wave is coming.

After having snow yesterday, we got to 43 degrees so the snow started melting. We are to get back in the 40's tomorrow and 65 degrees on Tuesday. I just wish it would stay in the 60's I could live with that.
They were talking that Easter Sunday is the starting of the tornado season. I am not ready for that one, but I know it will come quicker then we want.
I am waiting for a phone call from my daughter to let me know that they made it home o.k. from Rogers, Arkansas. I know the weather was worse the further south and east you went from us. I am gradually picking up new friends here on my blog and etsy and I just want you to know that I appreciate everyone of you very much. I keep finding new blogs to read through you and for that I want to say a big Thank You.
It is another way of relaxing from the stress in my life. I caused my son to have a small asthma attack. I got a haircut yesterday and my hairdresser used hair spray. We wanted it to hold because of the weather. I should have told him no I can't do that, but I just didn't think because it was snowing and I just wanted to get to the store and get home. I will get it worked out. He didn't tell me because he didn't want to upset me. I told him that he wouldn't have upset me.
He helped me carry in the groceries, clean the snow off my car, and I just like his help around the house for a while. I just have to get use to cooking for three again.
I hope you all have a good week. Take Care.

First Day of Spring

Our first day of Spring was cold, snowy and had blowing snow so where they cleared the snow you got patchy slick spots. We made it out to do what we had to do, but I was glad to get home where it was warm.
We like homemade polish sausage, fried potatoes, and cooked cabbage so that is what I had for supper. We have a grocer here in town that also makes polish sausage lunch meat. I have trouble pronouncing the names in polish. My husband's grandparents came from Poland and there is still distant relation over there. I have come across some old letters that I will have to see if I can find someone to translate. I always like to learn about other countries and people, about their customs. It is so much fun.
The snow was wet enough that you could have had a good snowball fight or made a snowman. You could use a soft bristle broom and push it off the car without any problems.
I just want the warmer weather to come back and sunshine for a while. It is hopefully the last snow that we will have for the year. We sure don't need anymore at the moment.
Well have a nice weekend.

YUCKY WEATHER

Tomorrow is the first day of Spring, but you sure can't tell it from looking out my window. Would you believe it, we have snow on the ground. It started off rain, sleet, and now snow. They say that we have only had the first round. It was about 52 degrees at lunch time and by the time I got off work it was 39 degrees. We went out for a little bit and it has dropped to freezing. Really it is so irritating, but nothing you can do about it.
I was glad that it was today and tomorrow is Saturday. I don't have anything absolutely that I have to do. I do have a hair appointment to get my hair cut, but other then that I can stay home if I so desire.
The Farmers Al mac had the snow yesterday and it is usually pretty accurate. My parents would always read it and see when the best time to plant the garden and etc. It would even tell you when the best time was to get a haircut, but then my mother always cut our hair, made our clothes. I don't know if I have told you or not that I am one of ten children. There were six boys and four girls. We always had extras at our house for baseball games, coasting parties, 4Th of July celebrations, you name it, we had fun.
I grew up on a farm and never lived in town until my sophomore year of college when I shared an upper floor with three other girls. We lived across the street from a fraternity house. All kids should go to college after high school graduation, because it is a growing up experience. They can take some of the responsibility for their life, making decision that would affect the rest of their life. I still hear from my roommates at Christmas.
Well tomorrow it is still to be snowing and cold so what a way to start a first day of Spring. I hope yours is a whole lot better.
Must close for tonight. Have a great weekend.

NEW CHANGES

I really appreciate those who share their images with us. I like making my blog post look like I am using stationary. I think it gives it some character.
St Patrick's is just about over at our household for this year. We had our corn beef, cooked cabbage, carrots, and potatoes. We had corn bread and biscuits instead of the bread. My son is staying with us at the present time really enjoyed it. He hadn't had it for a while.
Today was a gorgeous sun shiny day with the temperature really warming up quite nicely. It would have been a great day to play hooky and be outside for a change.
I thought I would start making my banner be ready for the next Holiday "Easter". It has a special meaning at our household because we will also be celebrating our son's birthday.
Of course, the younger two grandsons will have an Easter egg hunt, but my oldest thinks that he is getting a little to old. He is only going to be 11 his birthday. He will be starting middle school this next year. I don't know if that has something to do with it or not.
We just enjoy the boys so much. I think I may have told you in a previous post that when I have a stressful day, I go play with the boys. Get my grandma fix. They just grow up entirely to fast. I still read to the younger ones. We played Uno Moo the last time and they won which was really exciting for them. I don't think that we really played it right, but it was a new game.
I hope you all had a wonderful sun shiny day. We are to have another one and be warmer tomorrow. We shall see. Everybody take care.

ST PATTY'S DAY

I was visiting my blogging friends tonight to see what they had been doing. I was visiting Sharon at My Vintage Studio.
She had the picture at the left on her blog and I really like it. I was wondering what I was going to use to make my blog look like stationary and she came to my rescue.
Tomorrow is St Patty's Day, we have a bar-restaurant right across the street from where I work so I will have to be extra careful when I leave that someone doesn't hit me. We will have the traditional corn beef, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, and sour dough bread for dinner when I get home. The previous owner of where I work would cook for our customers and serve them a free lunch. It got so that you saw people that you didn't know that would come to eat because somebody told them we were having a free lunch.
I kinda miss him because when it was really cold, he would bring us in a big pot of home made vegetable soup made with vegetables out of his garden. He was a very good cook.
My youngest grandson is having a lot of fun playing with the new puppy. He says it is a black and white fur ball. This week his other grandparents are also dog sitting their other son's dog while they are gone. He is having fun playing with both dogs. He wants to take them home and bring them back in the morning.
They are predicting snow again for the weekend. I do hope they are wrong. My Magnolia tree will probably freeze and I won't get to enjoy the blooms. I am hoping I will.
Well it is time I really need to go to bed because tomorrow will be a busy day for me.

Day Light Savings.

Are any of you like me that wishes they would change the clock a half hour and leave it a lone instead of the spring forward and fall back? You have to make the adjustments to all of the things that you normally do. I wasn't really ready to eat supper, but then it was 5 o'clock by our new time.
The weekend has been damp and cold. We have had so much flooding from the snow melting with the rain on top of it. The rivers that we crossed today have gone back in their banks, but such a muddy mess.
It was really cold, damp, and not the kind of weather to stand out in and watch the parade. They will probably broadcast it one evening this week on our local channel.
My middle grandson went to the Circus with his other grandpa instead of going to the parade which was good because he was just getting over an ear infection. He drank a 20 oz Mountain Dew so needless to say he was wired for sound last night when we baby sat him and his brother. Mommy and daddy went to see the movie "She's Out of My League" and to dinner. We had fun with the boys even though the oldest wasn't feeling good. Matt set on grandpa's lap looking at the new Model Train book for quite awhile until he thought he was going to fall asleep. He normally takes a nap, but not Saturday. They were not hard to take care of that is for sure.
We love the time that we get to spend with them. Jake dearly loves telling me that he has almost caught me in height. They both get to go bowling this week on Friday, but at different bowling lanes.
Our youngest other grandparents have gotten a new puppy after going several years without one. It is a black and white cocker spaniel. He told his grandpa that he would take the puppy home with him and he would bring it back in the morning. That is a favorite saying if he is playing with something that he wants to take with him. He is such a little character,
I need to get back to my project or I am not going to get it finished. You all take care.

ALMOST FRIDAY

I thought the tulips with rain drops were appropriate this evening as we have had rain the last two days and even some snow thrown in. We were fortunate enough that the snow melted as fast as it fell because we were in the 40's. The rivers are out of their banks because of all the snow melting and the rain on top of it.
We would like it to freeze so that we can get into a job site. They don't have any gravel on the lane that they say is the road yet. It was hard enough when you could get in because it is really narrow and trees on both side of the lane. You definitely can't meet another car and to be honest you wouldn't even know there is a new house being built there because it isn't visible from any roads. They wanted privacy and that is definitely what they have. got.

This is another of my tea towels ready to go into my etsy shop. I have been burning some late night oil as the saying goes to finish up some things that I have laid aside. I have a lot of stress lately and I needed to try to unwind so I would sleep when I go to bed and not lay there and toss and turn.
It must be getting close to a new moon with some of the people we have dealt with here lately. I had one tell me on the phone that I was going to listen to him because he was trying to sell us the yellow pages for the Internet at work. I told him we weren't interested, but he kept insisting and I told him I wasn't listening to him and hung up.
We may have the boys for a while after I get through with Saturday morning errands. I just hope the sun comes out, but it doesn't sound as though that is going to happen.
The plane is one that was parked at our airport here lately. We saw it while we were eating breakfast. Some of our airguard are flying relief missions to Chili at the present time. They help with the relief missions in Haiti. At least they aren't in harms way. Although we have them all over and you never know exactly where they are. You all have a wonderful weekend.

Lost Post

Have you ever got your post already to post to hit the wrong button and lose it all? That is what happened to me. I had it all finished and then it was gone in a split second.
I thought I would show you a couple of my tea towels that I have finished and putting them in my etsy shop. I have decided that I am going to list my blue necklace in my shop. I don't really wear a lot of jewelry and the ones that I do wear has a very special meaning.
For example of my red, white, and blue cross that my son gave to me while he was in the service. I was really shocked when I found out what the stones were. I am very careful when I wear it because it isn't something that can be replaced.

I have been working on my baby quilt, but all of it will have to take a back burner until after Saturday because I have some priorities that I have to get done. One is to get my income taxes finished put together for our tax lady.
The other is to finish helping my son get moved. He is going to be living with us for a while. I don't have a problem with that because I know he won't have a health problem while he is here. I just have two to take care of.

I hope that you like my tea towels. I must close for tonight because it is getting late and tomorrow is another work day. Take care.

A NEW TREASURER

I was going through some more costume jewelry and I came across this necklace. I thought it was really pretty. One of my other finds was a small silver vintage evening bag. I haven't got a good picture of it yet because my lighting is the best for some reason.

We hit 64 degrees and we are possible going to have storms later tonight and in the morning. It is just what we needed but the snow is almost all gone.
Is everybody ready for St Patty's day. There is rain in the forecast so it might put a damper on the parade in Kansas City. They have had a big parade as long as I can remember and it is televised so you don't have to go to be able to see all of the parade. They are also having basketball tournaments for the next three weeks so maybe we will be lucky to get some of the motel business or some stopping here to eat as they are traveling through.
I got to see one of the new highway patrol cars because my neighbor is driving it. The only way you know that it is a patrol car is because of all the antennas on the back. If you can see that, then it is already to late and they have already got you.
We have a company looking to hire six people and they had over 200 applicants. They had the police there for crowd control. We have so many people out of work. Of course all of the snow hasn't helped and now they are talking about rain.
You all have a wonderful evening.

ITS GETTING WARMER

We had 58 degree weather. It really felt good for a while with the sun out. We had a little rain, but not much only enough to make the car that much dirtier. I think they were celebrating St Pat's a little early this evening with all the cars and people at one of the favorite bars this time of the year.
We took our oldest two grandsons this morning with us. They got to see the trains this morning and I was really happy about that. You never know if you will see any.
The drive to Atchison, Kansas and back home they got to see six trains.
My picture of my frog is a book mark that my daughter-in-law made for me. She does a lot of things in wood. At the moment she is making baskets. They look like they are hand woven but it is just the way that the wood is put together. They always make ornaments at Christmas time and other things. He made a doll cradle for a little girl's new doll that she was getting for Christmas. It was really pretty.

TGIF

Today turned off really pretty for a change. We got to 52 degrees and it makes you really think that Spring is on its way. It should really help to get rid of the snow.
I am thankful for the weekend to hopefully do some of the things that I want to do. We will babysit our two oldest grandsons while their parents help my oldest move. I will be glad when he is all moved that is for sure. It has been an emotional roller coaster. He will be staying with us for a while. I will be sharing my computer with him so I may not get to do somethings as often as I like.
I needed the weekend to try to get to feeling a little better. I had a problem today that I haven't had one like it for a long time and usually it was because I ate something with to much milk, but I hadn't done that. It could just be from stress of work and everything else that is going on in my life at the moment.
My youngest grandson got his giraffe, but he was a little disappointed because he told his mommy and daddy that he wanted a real one to go in his room. You never know what they are going to do. They took him for his kindergarten evaluations. He would only count to three. He can count higher then that in Spanish that he learned from watching Dora. He told them he just didn't feel like it. It just makes you wonder where he comes up with what he says.
My middle one answered the telephone. He wanted to know if I was his grandmother and he told me hi. He forgot you had to leave the phone off the hook until they picked up the other phone so he hung up on me.
Have a wonderful weekend.

New Look

I am in the process of giving my blog a new look. I have it started, but you will gradually see different changes. I have been learning new things all day.
I had asked Debbi about changing to a three column. She told me a website to go to and I did it from there. I want to thank her for her help.
It always makes it so nice when you have friends that you can ask questions.
We got up into the 40's today. We are shooting for 50"s at the end of the week. They say we may get some rain which I can handle as long as it does not freeze. I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week. You all take care.

SPRING IS COMING

Spring is 18 days away. We got up to almost 40 today and we are suppose to be to 50's by the weekend. Maybe we are going to have a break for a change.
I wanted to show you a picture of one of my baby quilts that is going to its new home. I gave it to my niece for her little girl to have a keepsake.

At the moment it is hanging on her wall so that she can look at it every day. It is her baby in the quilt.
I am working on one right now that is called Snoozy. It is all Winnie the Pooh characters.
It is so much enjoyment to see them coming alive.

The necklace's are going to listed in my etsy shop later this evening. I have several things ready.

I hope you all are having a wonderful week. Every day of sunshine makes me happy. I think it will make us all feel better.
