March

Where did February go? It seemed like it just got started and it is already gone. I know Spring is almost here and the weather we have been having some of makes you think it is really close.
We have gone from 60's to 40's. You just never know. We had a fast moving storm go through last night with lightening, thunder, winds and heavy rains. We were lucky, but other areas weren't so lucky.
Branson was gearing up for their celebration of 150 years. They were lucky that there weren't that many people there. Most of the activity was starting in March.  I don't know if we will go there this year or not, just have to wait and see.
I am looking forward to the weekend. Our son gets in Friday night late. He won't be here long, but we are just glad to see him whenever possible. The whole family will be together Saturday night for dinner.
I get to try to load my accounting program on my new computer at work. I  am a little scare of it. I didn't have good luck when I tried to add  Linky to my blog.  I had to have help getting some of the things on my blog back so I think I am going to leave things alone for a while. I have to many things on my mind right now.
We saw the Monkees and Paul Revere in Branson one year. Mainly when we go there we just take in the shows. I still like my 50-60's music. You could understand the words that they were saying.  Of course we are prejudice.
You all have a great day.

FRUSTRATION

Doctor appointments,  I call today to find out when they schedule my hubby's upper GI. Well they hadn't really and five phone calls later we are suppose to have one the 16th of March. If they get an opening before then, they will call me. I am not holding my breath. I think part of the problem is he is a very high risk with his bleeding disorder.  I told them if I had a problem I would just take him to the hospital. They will have to deal with it sooner then, but my boss was wanting to know when I was going to be gone again.
We went to our son's yesterday late afternoon to see them. Grandma needed her grandma fix with the boys. My oldest wears the same length jean as his grandpa. The only difference is the waist size. He is growing and eats constantly. I asked him if he had a couple of hollow legs. It was such a pretty day that they were riding their horses.
Matt showed me all of his paper airplanes that they had made. They had a book with actual instructions for different ones. Some were really neat. His mom told me to please not buy him anymore Lego's. He showed me how many he had. I can understand what his mom meant.  He doesn't know it, but he is being honored at a breakfast on Wednesday for the same Character word as his cousin. Honesty . He is doing a reading program where they are raising money for school. They can win prizes and if their room comes in with the most reading miles they win a pizza party and I don't know what else. I gave him a donation which put his name in the hat for a chance to win a Kindl.
We didn't stay late because they go to bed at 8 on School nights.
There is so many changes going on here in blog land. I was trying  to do some changes and ending up causing myself more headaches.  I don't like the two word verification because they are hard to read. I know I have cataracts on my eyes, but they supposedly aren't ready for surgery yet.  Some of the blogs that I visit have leave a comment with a link. Why do they go changing when you get use to a certain way. I guess that is just my age creeping in.
Enough rambling, I hope you all have a great week. Take care

Quiet House

The house is quiet at the moment with hubby is sleeping. He doesn't have much energy.  With all of the doctor appointments it was almost 400 miles this week in three days.  We will still have another trip this next week for his upper GI providing they can fit it in, but we will have to wait and see. They should call me on Monday. He has got to feel better by next weekend with our son flying home and all of the family and grandchildren are going out for dinner to celebrate his birthday early and dad's late. We didn't get to do what we wanted for dads because of the sickness in the family. They are good about calling us when our grandson's are sick with grandpa immune system not working right it would be my luck he would catch something for sure.
I won the apron drawing over at 2 Bags full, that is not all of the name of her blog, but Vicki is such a sweet person and I love reading her blog and seeing all of the wonderful pictures that she takes of her trips . Miss Maddy, her granddaughter is wearing the apron that I won. It came in its own metal box with the same design as my apron. It has big pockets and I love it.  It came when I was so in need of a pick me upper. Whenever Vicki has a give away Miss Maddy gets to draw the names.  Children are priceless and you never know what they will say or do.
My youngest grandson picture will be in the local paper with other children. They were honored because of their honesty. That was the character word for the month. He definitely is one that if you don't want his answer don't ask him.
Well it is back to working on my taxes  so I can drop them by the office this week. Have a great weekend. I will be popping in and out when I have a chance. Take care.

On the Road

Have you ever had a post completely disappear? Have you ever felt like you were on a merry-go-round and can't get off? Have you ever felt so frustrated that you felt like screaming? I cry when I get frustrated and that is the way I have felt since finding out that my hubby's iron infusion didn't work.
We went yesterday to our primary doctor and was his last two patients of the day. It was my annual checkup and he worked hubby in also to say me a trip. He has been with us since day one and I love him. He said there was one or two things going on. Either the iron wasn't a good batch and given wrong or he is bleeding again. Either way, we redid the iron infusion today, but it wasn't like how they did the last one. That nurse was not there. Both of the nurses working today were nurses that had given him iron infusions before. His blood sugar did go up this time, but it didn't the last time. It always had before.  We will go tomorrow to see the GI doctor's for a consultation. It sounds as though they are doing both an upper and lower to see if he is bleeding and how bad.
I am going to work long enough to do payroll and a sales tax report that has to be filed on line. After that I will be gone the rest of the day.
I just took my embroidery with me to work on. I will probably take it tomorrow. I don't know if we will have to set and wait or not. I know I have paper work to fill out to up date his information.
I just keep praying for answers. I don't like not knowing what is going on. He may end up in the hospital so that they can run more test if necessary. I have been reading your blogs, but not always had the time to leave you a message. I will catch up with you all. Have a great weekend.

Busy

The weekend has been spent trying to get everything ready for all of the doctor visits. They want to give him an iron infusion in between the doctor visits. My daughter brought up a good point. She asked why the last one didn't raise his blood sugar. Maybe there was a problem. I hadn't really  thought about that aspect but she is right everyone that we have gotten before has sent his blood sugars off the chart to where they wouldn't read on his meter other then to say hi. I know I feel like I have a big stress overload.
Our middle grandson has the junk that is going around. When he doesn't even want to talk on the phone. You know he is sick.
They are all out of school tomorrow. The older two's mom and dad don't have to work either. It will be nice they don't have to find a baby sitter. Our youngest one was spending the night with his other grandparents so he didn't have to get up early in the morning. He was going to work in the train room with his grandpa. He was telling me how his daddy  fractured a rib in his back. He went backwards on the black ice. He didn't want to go forward with his son in front of him. He didn't turn on the porch light or he might have been able to tell better that it was black ice. I am beginning to think he has become accident prone. He is really sore, but there is nothing they can do for him other then pain pills and muscles relaxers. The house is quiet with hubby asleep. He is getting to look like the white of his t-shirt.  He doesn't have any energy with the blood counts being low.

This is the picture of the saying on my latest tea towel that I just finished. I thought the saying was kinda cute because you don't see many things like it. I am trying to decide what I want to take with me to work on while I am at the doctor's offices.  It will take the majority of the day when he gets his iron infusion.
The first appointment is with our primary to decide the next course of action. I know we are living on borrow time, but I don't want to accept that as of yet. He has so many strikes against him and we have been through so very much. We are starting the 13th year since he has gotten sick.  A long time. We still have two years to go before we reach our 50th wedding anniversary.  I would like to make it to him.  We just keep praying for each day that we get and God gives me the strength to get through whatever I have to do. I know I just have to keep very busy so that I don't have time to dwell on what is going on with him. I will be in and out this next week.  You all have a good week.

Prayers Please

I need your prayers for this next week to see me through all of the doctors visit. Our visit this week was not good. Instead of helping , the iron infusion didn't work. His blood counts dropped instead of improving.  It is the first time, we have had that happen in all the time we have been getting them.  We don't know if he is bleeding again or exactly what is going on. We see our primary on Tuesday to see what the next plan of action will be. They want to give him another iron infusion on Wednesday. I just want to know if he is bleeding or what. I know we have a problem with the blood clotting, which is why we have taken a medication for a long time that is suppose to help. I know that we have to pay for it out of our pocket because it isn't covered by insurance. They will pay for blood transfusions.  It has been an emotional roller coaster for me. It is the first time that I haven't  had an indication of what is going on with him. I just know that there is a problem. I see when little things aren't right . His eyes get a dull look for one thing. When he doesn't want to go for a ride as soon as I come home from work, you know there is a problem. I have been some more research to try to find out as much as possible so that I can ask questions when we see the doctor. He has been with us since day one and I know I can count on him when I need him. .
We have to get him feeling better by the first weekend in March. Our boy is flying home to take care of some things over the weekend and while he is  home we want to go to dinner to celebrate dad's birthday late and his birthday early. We have had so much sickness going on in the families that we haven't been able to get together. Hubby has been sick and had two rounds of antibiotics. We just didn't want him in the hospital because of his immune system not being what it should be and afraid that he would come in contact with something else. .
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I am off to pack a box for shipping so I can get that done tomorrow. I am shipping one of my pillows to Tulsa, Oklahoma. It makes me feel good when I sell something in my etsy shop.

Snow Gone, Rain Came

We got our snow enough for the boys to play outside in it. They tried to build a snowman, but we didn't really get that much. It was pretty much gone the next day. We had a heat wave of 44 degrees. Today has been rainy, foggy off and on all day.
We will be on the road early in the morning and I don't want black ice for tomorrow . We will be in the city for a doctor appointment. I am hoping for a down and back visit, but I never know until we get there and the appointment is over.
He has his good days and his bad days. Today was not the best, when he didn't want to go someplace this evening you know he doesn't feel that good. He has slept the majority of the day. I will just take some embroidery work to do while we wait.
I was very lucky to win Brenda's give away over at Shabby Cats and Roses. I  am using Brenda's pictures. I never like mine I just have a hard time taking them. This is my pretty pink container that will fit nicely on my sewing table to put scissors, rulers, and other goodies in.
Her pretty sachets that smell so good. I haven't decided exactly where I am going to put them. I love the smell. Roses are one of my favorite flowers.
She also had a Valentine box of chocolates in my goodies box. Needless to say they didn't last long.  Pretty card, packet of cinnamon stick tea. I like it well enough that I had to get me some at the store. All of were wrapped in Valentine Paper. Love it. Thank you Brenda. Our Valentine celebration was going out to dinner and taking a ride here in town. I, also, got a box of chocolates from one of my co-workers who has always given me a Valentine since we started working together. He has been there when I have needed help and just listened to me when I needed it. You never have to many people like that in your life.
My grandson with his Valentine box. He wasn't to thrill with having his picture taken as  you can tell by his face. Daddy and him built his box. Daddy made the care and he got to put on the decorations. He already has his next one planned.
My older two spent the snow day at his house and they had a good time.
I hope you all have a wonderful week.

Happy Valentines

I  wanted to wish you all a Happy Valentine Day. The month is flying and I really don't know where it has gone.  We have been really cold this weekend. The wind was strong on Saturday and the temperature was miserable with the wind chill below zero. That was when we always had new babies being born on the farm. We would have more then one in the house in a box by the far bottle feeding them. Today warmed up a little, but not much. It is the warmest it has been right now which is in the 30's. They say the south winds are coming to bring us the snow.
I have been working on a new tea towel which I hope to be able to show you soon.  I have several partially done, and I will probably get some finished by the end of the week. We have doctor appointments coming up so I know I will have a little more time.
We were actually home most of the day which is an exception to the rule at our house. Normally my hubby wants to go for a car ride, but I haven't felt up to par so we stayed home. I think what he had has finally caught up with me. I have been taking medicine so hopefully it will get better. Have you ever felt like you need a cork for your nose to get it to stop running?
We got to see our oldest two grandsons and their mom and dad at the hair salon. The boys were getting their hair cut right after we did. Our oldest and his dad was headed for a 4-H meeting as soon as he got through and mom was going to the grocery store with Matt when he got through. They have been busy with all of the activities. Cub Scouts, 4-H and Matt brought home information about soccer and t-ball. The summer schedule will be filling up fast.
Our youngest is taking swimming lessons and he is going to play t-ball.  You can see so many changes since school has started. They are growing up and it makes you realize you are getting older.
Our oldest son got moved into an apartment this past Friday. He was enjoying all of the room he had. You could fit where he was staying into one of the rooms he now has. He can look out and see the cemetery. He has a second floor apartment. He is sleeping on an air mattress at the present time. He doesn't want to get a lot of furniture until after his trial period is up. When he took the job, it was with a six month trial period. All indications are that they are keeping him, just don't know if he will get to stay at that office or not.
I talked to him last night for over an hour. He may fly home this next weekend because he needs to get his license up dated with his permanent address. He has sent the paper work in for his security clearance for the job he may be working on. They have to have a photo I.D.. He doesn't mind because he is glad that he is working.
This what they say our ground will look like tomorrow, but it doesn't sound like it will be around very long. It has been a rough winter for those who push snow as part of their family income. We have had the 60's then we drop down to the cold. It reminds you of a yo-yo.  I will just have to wait and see what we have in the morning. It is suppose to start sometime after midnight. I hope you all have a wonderful week. Stay warm and safe.

WISHING

Have you wished  the sun to come back so it would warm up? Have you wished for the cold damp weather to go away so your bones didn't hurt? Have you wished for a trip to somewhere that you get waited on and you don't have to do anything?
I just wished for  the day came to an end before I opened my mouth and stuck my foot in. It was one of those days where you are expected to pull miracles from a hat  and that just doesn't happen.
The first picture is of my grandson Matt having a very serious conversation with his Uncle John. I don't know what they were talking about, but the expression on his face is priceless.
Jake is wanting some more warm weather so that he can work with Fergie. He has been riding every chance that he gets when we have the nice days. He is going to be taking some more lessons for his Western Pleasure Classes. He isn't one for the games, but little brother wants to do games so he can go fast. I just don't know how fast Baby Sis will go.
We had freezing frost the other morning when we went to work and it kinda reminded me of this picture in a way. I didn't have my camera. When it hit you in the face, it just felt like a fine mist, but everything was sure turning white in a really quick hurry.
The trees and bushes looked pretty with the way the frost was covering them. I am wishing for a good day tomorrow. I have to go to the city and I don't want to drive in bad weather. I hope you all are having a good week.

It's Friday

This was  the sky that greeted me the other morning as I walked out the door to go to work. The sun was starting to show some color. Our weather had been in the 60's this week  until today which was a cold rainy day. We had rain all day and they are predicting some more tonight with the possibility of some snow mixed in. I remember a year ago and we were snowed in with a lot of snow. We couldn't even get out of our drive way and I heard about it. The kids didn't think I needed to have my driveway cleared. Well I wanted the comfort to know that I could get my car out if I needed to, but I was thankful that it wasn't necessary. This is a picture of the two who does most of the cooking at our family get together. My daughter-in-law is in the flowered top and my daughter in the pink with her Christmas hat. They both like to cook and can do a good job of it.  The picture was taken Christmas at our daughters.
The next three show you some more of my tea towels that I have been working on. I am listing these in my etsy shop  for sale.
The top two were some new patterns I found while surfing  and I really liked them. They were different then most of them that you see. Of course, I always enlarge them to the size I think will look good.
I have put them on Dunroven towels with different color stripe borders. I never know what I will work on next that is for sure. I have one called tea time that I have been working on tonight for a change from hearts. Then it will be back to them because I was reminded Valentine's Day is only 10 days away.

Have you ever read some body's blog that you would like to contact them, but there isn't a spot to e-mail them nor leave a comment?  Where do you look? I might try reading their profile, I didn't have time to do that before I had to leave for work.
She talked about a new way of transferring patterns that I wanted to know more about.
I am so proud of myself. I put my new accounting program and anti virus protection programs on my computer all by myself and they work. I didn't lose any of my accounting. Now  I just have to get use to it. Can anyone tell me why they have to change things just a bit? Well you all have a great weekend.
