He won 1st Place

The last horse show was today and it was 4H  kids from 5 counties represented plus the therapeutic kids from the Broken Bow Ranch.
The picture is from an earlier show, but today his dream came true. He got his first first place in a class of seventeen kids. Some of the kids that he beat today had beat him most of the summer, but today was great. He got third in the trail class out of another big group so he really had a great day.
You couldn't have asked for better weather. It was in the low 70's and cloudy all day off and on. It looked as though it was going to rain, but never did.Although there was rain in the area just not there at the horse show arena.  It was a fun day for the kids with the games they played on their horses besides the other events. They got medals and everybody got some kind of gift for every event which really made it nice. They made every boy and girl feel special.  At the end of the day, there was a barbecue pork supper for all of the participants and parents, who wished to stay. We enjoyed the whole day. They let little brother ride even though he was not quite 7. He is only a little over a month away. He tried games that he had never done before and had a blast even though he didn't come near to winning. To be able to laugh as the kids got to try their hand at new things was the main thing.
I got all of the wedding and shower gifts made and delivered. Now to concentrate on other things for fun. I am anxious to hear how the bride to be liked her Halloween Tea towels. I hope she does.
I haven't spent that many hours outside in the fresh air for quite a while and it was really enjoyable.
We may have a little more rain this evening and we have already dropped down to 61 degrees so it will be chilly in the morning.
I hope you are all enjoying your weekend I am. We have remembered what happened 10 years ago tomorrow. We have had several events to honor those who lost their lives. One of our local high schools put a flag out for every one how lost their lives on one of the hills at their football field. It was neat how they arranged them. We had some church services to honor them. Our prayers go out to those who lost love ones in this horrible tragedy and to those who continue to fight to keep our freedom.
Have a great rest of the weekend.

Oh What a great day! Fantastic news Shirley -- Congratulations!

My daughter has been riding since she was 5 (she's now 21) and she just today told me that she will be volunteering for the next four months to help out at a therapeutic riding center.
