Labor Day Weekend

Are you ready for the weekend? Do you have a mini vacation planned ? I was so ready for time to go home tonight. It has been a long hectic week and I was glad to see it come to an end. We got everything taken care of and have the lumber setting on the ground for a big  project that is suppose to start this next weekend. We were happy that our supplier had it so that they wouldn't have to wait. Some people can be very impatient. Our plans so far for the weekend will be My great niece's wedding this Saturday evening with a dinner-dance following the ceremony. I made them a set of tea towels for their wedding present. I need to get back to doing some to sell. My Halloween ones are turning out pretty neat that I am making for my daughter-in-law to give as a shower gift. I have my first craft show the first weekend in November. My daughter-in-law and I will do it together. She was going to take a few days of vacation to have some me time and work on crafts that she wanted for the show. She and my son do wood working. I probably will do one craft show with my grandson. It is a good way to spend quality time with him.
With all the damage from the hurricane, the floods, the drought, the earthquakes and the fires will we ever return to normal. Do foreign countries offer to return some of the money that we have given when they had a disaster? I don't think there will ever be enough money to pay for everything that some people thinks we should. I just wish they would figure out a way to send water like they do other products to the areas that really need the water. We have pipelines running across our countryside for oil and gasoline, why not water.
I am quite sure some people would have loved to send water to Texas to help them. After being out of your house for over two months, and can't really get in to see how much damage there is would really be hard to take. I don't know how well I would be able to handle it if I was in their shoes. When you look across, the fields the crops are gone and it just looks like a big lake. They keep saying the river is going down, but I can't really see the difference as of yet. The air guard must think it is because they are returning things that they had moved to higher ground. They have even brought some of the C-130"s back to the base.
Well I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. If you travel, be safe. It may not be your driving, but the one coming from the other direction.

Hi Shirley,
I was thinking of you and wondering how you are doing, as I was sewing. So...I go up and came to say "Hi."

I think so much about everyone that was affected this year, by the tornado's, floods, fires, earth quakes, the hurricane and tropical storms that are bringing even more flooding....Mercy! You really do wonder when it will all calm down.

Do you ever think with everything on "tilt" that maybe, just maybe God is trying to get our attention? Well, atleast our dishonest and greedy politicians attention?! They are doing a number on our country by refusing to follow the Constitution and laws that are on the books....it is a mess and I know I wonder where they ever got the idea that they had the right to do the things they are....anyway, did not mean to get on my soap box...And, I agree with Jane, we need to put some pressure on those that owe us so much money...might be a good way to start paying down our horrible debt, too.
I hope you have a successful craft show and have lots of fun. I have not done one in over seven years....I would not know where to start anymore. And, my dear hubby is past feeling like lugging those heavy tables and all that I used to set up to make it look like a little store.

Give me a holler if you add any Halloween kitchen towels to your Etsy store. I could use a new one and one from you would be the best!!!
Hugs,
Jil

Many thanks for your comment on my blog, my friend, you have no idea how precious your words, prayers and friendship are to me right now.

I am struggling with so many emotions right now, but the comfort I feel from the outpouring love is just immeasurable.
And hearing from so many people who have walked this path...it truly does reaffirm the belief that many times, God allows us to suffer hardships so that we might better be able to minister to others hurting in like fashion.

He really is in control, isn't He?
My head knows that, but my heart sort of struggles with it sometimes.
I'm sorry, I'm rambling now. Thank you for letting me unload.

Much love and thanks to you, my sweet friend.

Anne

What a sweetie pie you are. Thank you so much Shirley for your prayers and your wonderful comment.
Yes, we will take it one day at a time. Mom's happiness is the most important and if she ever wants to move on into an assisted living arrangement, she would have the families approval to do so. For right now, we are just getting through the change of not being alone. If this works out for all, it's a good thing, but if not, nothing is forever. We are enjoying being together and time will dictate what comes next. Her happiness is all that matters now.
I appreciate your friendship more than you know and thank you for thinking of me.
Yes, weather has been very difficult for many this year. I hope it's not an example of things to come.
I love craft fairs and can't wait to hear all about it, Char
