RAINY, RAINY WEEKEND

I thought I would give you a look at some of the things I have been doing lately while waiting at doctor's offices. The first tea towel is called a Bouquet of Roses which is one of my favorite flowers. I tried to grow a purple rose which is my favorite color, but no such luck.
The second tea towel is my blue birds that I have been working on done in different shades of blue. This one is done ready for the border. I know what I want to do to it, but I have to figure out how to do it. I haven't done the border I have chosen for a while.

My penguin I thought turned out rather well. Would you believe between his body and the out-lining I have a whole skein of black in it. I was surprised that it took that much, but it was fun watching him take place.
My tulips is another flower that I like even though I definitely don't have a green thumb. My mother could grow anything. She had a Christmas Cactus that she had in a south window that bloomed the year round. I don't know how she did it, but It was amazing that much for sure. We managed to shoot off the fireworks, but I have never seen so much rain. The neighbors shot theirs in the rain and they were really pretty. We watched the boys have a race in the garage on the hot wheels. They were having a lot of fun. My youngest grandson didn't like the fireworks. We wondered if it brought back memories of the fire that they went through last year when the garage burnt. She took him in the house for while. We used umbrella's to get us back and forth. I hope you all had a safe and wonderful 4Th of July.

Oh Shirley, How pretty! Sounds like you had fun. It was pretty here. but sweltering. High temps, high humidity= over 100 in heat index. We did get to the Antigue Flea Market over in Ind...it's only about 20 Min. away from our house, but the heat got me..I Know..I'm not the Sharpest needle in the pack:)...Wait til ya see what I found.
Hope you're still feelin ok.

Hi Shirley:
You've been busy! I love your beautiful tea towels. I'm going to make fabric napkins soon. I've decided to get away from using paper ones. (More fun in the studio after I finish the quilt). Thanks always for visiting, my dear. Although I'm a faithful follower, I'm going to add your blog to my blog roll, so I don't miss any of your lovely posts! Wishing you a relaxing Sunday, my dear friend.
xoxo
