IT'S MONDAY

Where did the weekend go? Did you think that it flew by too or is it just me because I am getting older? It had been so hot during the week, but Saturday didn't turn out to bad. It was cloudy and we had a couple of showers during the day basically enough to settle the dust.

The horse show was so long. They had 51 horses. When you have 21 in one class, it really makes it rough to decide winners. It started at 8 in the morning and was still going on when I left, but the boys had finished their last events. I thought Matt and Cleo were both going to go to sleep. We sang Happy Birthday to his momma with it being her birthday. We had canopy tents to sit under to keep the sun off of us. It was a fun day for me sitting their listening to the talk.

Matt collects girls all ages. The littlest being 16 months and the oldest being older then I. They all look after him and still talk about him getting thrown. He was standing up in his saddle when mom caught him. His horse was just standing there letting him do it. She is a good horse. There is just times when he wants her to do things that she doesn't want to do. I think we are all like that.

I had supper at my son's last night to celebrate my dil birthday. We had steaks on the grill, pasta salad, relishes, corn on the cob, and chocolate cake for dessert. It was yummy. I came home around 9 so the boys could get to bed. Matt goes with mom so they have to go early. They have summer hours where she works so they aren't in the heat late afternoon.

I am going to get my oldest grandson and he is going to help me again today. His payment is lunch and he does like to eat. I spoil them because I like to go to some place they wait on you instead of fast food.

Are your school supplies list long if you have children in school? High school depends on what classes you are taking and then the other fee's. They are all starting on my birthday so that will be easy to remember.

Well I need to get going. Have a wonderful day.

The horse shows sound so very interesting to someone (like me) who has never been to one. But do remember to go home if you are too hot or tired...it happens to the best of us.

We've had cooler temps, too, thank God. Most of our time at the lake is spent outdoors, whether for pleasure or work. Not much work yet! I am going to throw in some laundry tomorrow and schedule 2 hours minimum of sitting on the beach reading. Sometimes you have to plan for free time!

Thanks for coming by my blog with your sweet comments. You are so kind and caring! Sending you a hug tonight!

XO,
Jane

Time seems to fly by for me, too, Shirley! I can't believe we're heading toward the end of July. It seems like we were just waiting for spring to start!!

The horse shows sound like fun. I'm glad you were there to enjoy it.

Have a good week and stay cool in this MO heat!

Glad you had some shade at the horse show - that IS a huge class!
Today was the first day all summer that hasn't been close to 99% humidity and awfully hot. What a relief to have a "normal summer day" at last!
