Where is the Time going.

The month is half gone already and it seems as though it only started yesterday.  The kids only have roughly a month before school starts again. Is it just because we are getting older that the time goes so much faster? They aren't that anxious to start, but in reality I think they are going to be ready to go. They will get to see their friends that they don't see that much during the summer.

I am wanting it to be cooler for the weekend while I watch two boys ride. They tried on their white shirts to see if they could still wear them and they can.  I asked why they require them to wear white shirts because  they never stay that way. They say wearing them puts everybody on a level playing field. I hadn't really thought about it that way.

They did their community project on Sunday afternoon. They painted pictures on the walls of the horse barn where the handicap kids ride. The floor is made of ground tires so that if they fall off they won't get hurt as bad like they put on playgrounds.  One picture by the time they got done, it turned into a butterfly. They got to catch the horses in the pasture and bring them up because camp started the next morning. They all had fun doing it.

I  don't usually take afternoon naps, but I took one for about a hour after I took my grandson home.  I had  a nice comfy place to sit and the next thing I knew the program on tv  had changed and I didn't see any of it.

I hope you all have an enjoyable rest of the week. Try to stay cool.

I really do think that time flies as you get older. It certainly doesn't stand still. Such a nice thing for the boys to do in the barn. I hope it is cooler this week-end. Pretty hot right now. Have a good week-end. I love to take an afternoon nap.

A good nap once in a while really helps, doesn't it?
Very good work the boys did in the barn. Glad they had fun.
It has been 100º for a week here. 103º yesterday! Yuck!

Shirley, I ask myself that almost everyday! I can't believe the year is half over! It's so hot and humid around here. Sometimes naps are just the best thing to do:). Have a nice week! Twyla

Shirley, I wish I could nap.. when I am sick is the only time I can. I just told my daughter yesterday, that we used to get out of school at the end of May and go back after labor day , In September. Now that was a summer vacation. Our schools are going into the 1st week of June, for summer, and returning the second week of August. What the heck kind of a vacation is that?LOL Stay cool and safe. xoxo,Susie

Shirley I have missed you! I am so glad your grandson was not hurt when he was thrown from his horse. I know it scared all of you to see it.
I too can't believe how fast these months are passing by. It is scary to think how fast it goes since I have gotten older. lol
We did finally get a few hours of rain which has helped a little. This drought we are in is horrible but God did send us a few inches.
Some times a afternoon nap is a necessity. Your body was telling you to slow down.
Stay well and glad I was able to visit you today.
Love
Maggie

I've been wondering the same thing! I can't believe this month is half gone. It's been so hot lately, though, that I've started yearning for fall! It'll be here before we know it.

Take care and stay cool!

Shirley-
This summer is passing way too fast!! I hope things cool off a bit for your grandsons and their riding. I'm glad you are taking it easy-- can't remember the last time I took a nap-- but you deserve one every day :)
Sending hugs
Vicki
