Fast Summer

Where has the summer gone? Hasn't the months seem to just fly by or is it a sign we are getting older? I know it seems like a month just gets started and you blink it's gone. We have had some cool nights, but we could use some more rain.

Last week was a busy week with my baby-sitting the three boys. I was glad for my oldest grandsons help with the younger two. They can be a handful especially when you are only use to having one or two of them at a time. I know by the end of the week I was exhausted.

School starts in a week in our area. Both mom's have been shopping for school supplies, shoes, and clothes. It  is hard to find some of those in between size as I like to call them in jeans.

Matt enjoyed his art camp and is already talking about going next year. He told his brother he was ahead of him in school. His brother said I don't think so, little brother said yep because I am going to college. He thinks he his art camp puts him ahead because it is on the college campus.

You remember seeing Matt going sailing off of Cleo's back. Well this is  a picture of just how gentle she is. He was sitting there with his feet cocked around the saddle horn. We will have a horse show this coming Sunday. I will probably go watch as it stands at the moment.

I thought I would show you another one of my tea towels that I have ready to put an edge around it. I am making a set of red and black tractor pillowcases right now. That is just some of what I have been doing to keep myself busy.

Tuesday is the eye doctor and Thursday is the primary doctor appointments. Find out about my cataract surgery. Hopefully the right eye will be ready to do the following month after the left eye is done. I have to have a checkup to make sure that health wise I am able to have the surgery. My left eye blurs and waters more then it did so I know it is getting time for it to be done.

Well friends have a good week. I know that mine will be a busy one, but that makes me happy. I don't have time to think about things and worry. Take care.

I was just saying today how the summer has flown by so quickly. I do enjoy the cooler evening though. Good luck with your appointments this week.

Good luck at the doctors appointments this week. I will be having the eye surgery also one of these days. I also have a cyst in both eyes. One they tried to drain it and it didn't work. Now I need that cut out. Just doesn't sound like fun so I am postponing it.
Glad you were able to spend the time with your grandsons. Yep, they wear you out. We are helping with our grandson and daughter as they move into their new home. Daddy arrived tonight from Colorado and they were so excited. It's still not sinking in that they are here to stay.
Have a good week. I like busy too.

I think that the months roll on by faster as I get older. My dad used to tell me that time went faster the older you get. He was right!

Hope your appointments go smoothly for you this week. Take care.

Summer sure has gone by fast. Of course, I think we have all been so very busy and that always makes it go by fast. Light, love and good wishes that all goes well with Dr. Appointments.

Hi Shirley, I read this blog and your family reunion blog. FYI, my wife is from Maplewood MO and we met while I was working in St. Louis. We still get back there to visit her family. Also, best of luck with your cataract surgery! Laurie (my wife) is getting ready for hers as well. Can't see much out of her left eye and she's going to have to have the other one done too. Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

I've been enjoying the cool mornings here - makes it easier to get out and get the chores done before breakfast.
Good luck with your appointments, Shirley!

Shirley, From this post, I know you truly understand my post today...our little babies are growing up...it saddens me. I want to hold them and never let them go...but then I felt the same way about my daughters...they grew up and I had to let them go. But I am blessed, my daughters are my best friends. I hope you do not get too lonely when the boys go off to school. I'll be thinking of you and wishing you well. xoxo,Susie
