FROM MY HOUSE TO YOURS

I thought I had better check in so that you knew I was still alive. I have just been a little busy with everything that is going on in my life. Hubby has been sick so needless to say I have been at the nursing home with him. Doctor appointment for me, horse show weekend, and a custom order to finish.
We had a very stormy night with thunder, lightening, wind, and rain. Some lost their electricity and we have trees down in the city. I was lucky and didn't lose my electricity. I know I didn't sleep very good with the lightening sounding to close for comfort. After having lightening strike the house a long time ago, I have never slept good when we have that kind of a storm. I just pray alot.
At least we finally got a weekend of horse show done that had previously been rained out the 23rd and 24th of August. It was so hot on Saturday and the boys weren't showing so I took Matt with me. He got to spend the day with grandma. We went out for lunch which I let him chose. He wanted Rib Crib, surprised grandpa with a visit in the afternoon, he played games on my computer, and went to get ice cream before we with back to the horse arena. His ice cream was chocolate with a brownie chopped up in it with some chocolate fudge on top mixed in. He loves chocolate. I had what was called a very berry ice cream. It had strawberries, blue berries, and raspberries in vanilla ice cream. Yummy.
Sunday was show day which grandma always loves watching. Matt showed them a new way to close the gate in trail. You let your horse use her nose to close the gate. Leave it to him. He got a first in western pleasure and in trail. He doesn't do games, but helped by putting the flag in the can for flags game. Brother and his partner got 1st in team barrels, 3rd in egg and spoon, and I didn't write down all of his times which I know that I should. It was a good time. Jake and Bailey did grand entry with Cleo and Fergie bare back. They just decided on the spur of the moment to do it that way. The horses were my grandsons and shows how good they can be.
Monday, I had to go to the city for a doctor appointment. Everything was o.k. except for cholesterol, he would really like for me to take meds for it, but I hate taking medications. I have to make up my mind what I am going to do. I didn't tell hubby because he would try to help me make up my mind. It has to be my decision. My Ekg was good and I had a good blood pressure after making the drive down.
Hubby has been sick this past week, I think that it was because of how they were giving his medications. They had some that was giving them with a medication, plus his body is still trying to adjust to the new medication that is lowering his blood sugars and ammonia level. It is not use to them. Really and truthfully it was very unusual that he function as well as he had with them so high. I just know that I will take it further if I need to do so because giving him a medication for nausea doesn't tell us why he is getting sick. .
The fingers have been busy and have to stay busy so that they don't get stiff. It is a pain to get older. You are probably tired of this and that so I had better close. I am waiting for my oldest grandson to put a belt on my rider and then we are going to work in the yard.
Have a great day and enjoy what is left of a three day weekend. Take care.

Hi Shirley,

I finally got a post up myself today. Glad to see you here.

It sounds like you had a great time with your boy-ice cream and visiting granddad and then all the horse show stuff. Your grandboys sure do a good job with their horses.

I am sorry your hubby is not doing well. Adjusting to new meds can be so tough. As for your cholesterol---if you go to a real health food store they will tell you that sometimes a person just has high cholesterol and it doesn't mean a thing. Some people that have everything perfect in their lives/diets still have high cholesterol. That is THEIR norm. They SELL cholesterol products at the health food stores but don't push them unless they feel you really need them.

Hope you don't get any more bad storms. Enjoy your stitching and your Labor Day. Love to you- xo Diana

Hi Shirley. I have been absent as well. So sorry that your package is still in my car from over a week ago. I finally took it to the car so it would get mailed. Then I got sick and didn't go anywhere. Hopefuly it will be mailed soon.
So glad you are having fun with your grandsons and their horses. Sorry about your husband not feeling well. One of my ailments at the moment is from a medication.
Do take care in those storms. We have had rain yesterday and today but have missed the storms for a couple of weeks now.

Hi Shirley! I suppose if you go on the cholesterol meds, you can still enjoy fun foods like ice cream. ;)

You are certainly a very family-conscious person. Very loving and caring.
Do not worry about the cholesterol just yet. That icecream could lead to a false reading. You are far too busy and active to have any serious health problems. A healthy mind in a healthy body.

I'm so sorry your husband has been sick. It's so great that you can advocate for him -- and I agree with you that it's important to know WHY he is experiencing nausea rather than just giving him anti-nausea medications. You're both in my thoughts and prayers!

Keep an eye in those medications. Sometimes regulating them is just trial and error. Frustrating and scary. And watch your cholesterol!

Shirley - Sounds like you had a busy and fun weekend with g'son. Yes, those meds can get rather confusing. It's so hard to try to figure out what's the best thing to do about meds. I'm going thru that right now,

Hi Shirley, so nice to catch up with you today.
Sounds like the grands are doing well and enjoyed a great summer. The horse shows have to be a highlight and they are so good. I know you are very proud of them!!
I am so sorry your hubby has been sick. Maybe they have to adjust the meds he is taking.
I hope your cholesterol issues can be resolved just with diet alone. I hate taking meds too. I know you will figure out what to do.

Have fun stitching and keeping busy. Watch out for those storms and enjoy the end of summer. It sure flew by fast. Wish winter would come and go so quickly!!

Happy September and much love.
Thoughts and prayers

Hi, Shirley...so sorry to hear he isn't feeling well. Hopefully, he'll feel better soon.
Sounds like a good day with grandson. I love those kind of days. We had them a lot more when our grands were little...now that they are all grown, it's next to impossible to get any time with them...working and school takes most of their time. Little Deeds still hangs out with her Memaw and that is indeed, a treat.
Take care of yourself ...
