YEAR FLYING

It is the first day of December and you wonder just where has the year gone. It is as though you have blinked your eyes and the month is gone. It has been a trying year for me. I have made it with God's help.
Thanksgiving was a busy day with spending time with the family at my Son's house. I had a lot of fun watching all three grandsons. We ate entirely to much. Have you seen the Ding Dong cake that was being posted on Face Book? Well my daughter made it. It was yummy, but she learned that her non-stick pans do stick. It was yummy anyway. Some of the meal was traditional, but some was not.
The afternoon was spent trying to get a Christmas list from the boys. We only buy for them. I am toying with the idea of giving them money to spend on what they want. They are getting so hard to buy for as they get older. They already have to much or it is out of my price range.
I have been busy getting ready for my last Craft Show which is this next Sunday 9-3. Then a Christmas party after it across the street for the saddle club.
My bunny table runner is on it's way to a new home down under. Whatever of my new towels I don't sell at the craft show will be going into my etsy shop.
I am on my 4th towel since last Monday. Depending on the design how long it will take me to embroider it. My rooster, hen, and baby are coming along nicely. .
We will celebrate Christmas on the 24th at the nursing home, then Christmas Day more quiet, and then the 27th when my oldest comes home for a visit. If he had known sooner, he could have flown home for Thanksgiving, but he wasn't about to spend big bucks for only 4 days. He had a 4 day weekend.
The boys are anxious as we all are. The younger two was helping feed the horses, walk the dogs with my son when I left to go to the nursing home. I spent the day at home yesterday. I needed to catch up on some rest.
Well I wanted to let you know that I am still here. I will be busy for a few more days then I will try to get around to visit more. Have a wonderful day. Be careful shopping because we have those who like to take advantage of people and steal things that don't belong to them. I will take a day when someone can go with me if I really want to shop.
Take care.

Love the bunny runner. You sure keep busy. I think it's a good idea to go along with someone when you shop. It's scary time. I really try to be aware of my surroundings.
I am trying to hold off on money gifts but I know it will happen.
Take some time to rest. Hugs

Oh Shirley, your work is beautiful! You sure keep your hands busy! I know what you mean about the year zipping by! I feel the same way! I kept thinking I would work on things in Dec. And here it is...what??? What happened to November? I finally gave in and just give everyone money instead of trying to buy gifts. I do get a little something, like a candybar, jar of peanuts or small gift to put their money with.

Off to doctors appointment today! Stay well and warm!

Blessings,
Gert

Hi Shirley, this year has really flown by. I can't believe Christmas is just weeks away. We now only have our children to buy for and sometimes I just give them gift cards or money. One of the things I like to do is buy a selection of magazines I think they will like and maybe a small book and tuck the gift card in with that. I always include one of those little boxes of chocolates, too, and a few small, inexpensive things. It is just an assortment of stuff in one box and they love getting it. Another tradition we have at our house is the chocolate covered cherries that are always wrapped and under the tree. I've been doing that since they were kids and they always look for the boxes!

Your stitchery is beautiful and I wish you much success at the craft show! Take care and get a little rest when you can!

Shirley, I almost missed this post...late though. I love the towels. Some times grands will shock me with their lists. lOL. but now I just give money. I normally give the two youngest granddaughters a gift and money...I need to see if they still want a gift...I give the money to their mom's (my twin daughters) and let them buy what they want. it helps me out. Blessings for a great month...and boy it is going fast. xoxo,Susie
