Beautiful Fall Day

The sun going down the other evening as I was coming home. I had to stop and take a picture of it. The temperature outside reminds me of fall. You need a jacket or sweater of a morning and in the afternoon with the sun shining you don't.  I don't know about you, but I am ready for the cooler weather. I want the first hard frost so that the allergies will go away for another year. It is not fun having allergies and a sinus infection at the same time. It makes you feel miserable.  My next project going on the needle will be my Halloween tea towels. I am just about through with my latest project which is a new lap quilt. Pictures will be coming as soon as it is finished. My hands have been kept busy when I have felt like doing nothing else. I got put on a 1000 milligrams of antibiotics a day to try to get rid of the sinus infection for ten days. I cough so much at night that it makes it miserable to try to sleep. I didn't go see hubby because when I talk to much I get a coughing spell. It is one way for me to be quiet, but hard to keep still at times. School is back in session. It makes you wonder where did the summer go. We have one last event at our horse arena. We are going to have a ranch rodeo the 24th of September. Some people call it where want  Be's try to be cowboys. I know they would be walking an awful lot because their horses head for the gate when they get off them. It will be fun to watch and we are planning on having pulled pork sandwiches, with real french fries in the cook shack. With some cobbler made in the dutch oven along with some other goodies.
An up date on my grandson, he is doing o.k.. Still doesn't remember being thrown or what took place before or after it. The doctor said that he may never remember that part. He is back to throwing hay and doing some of the things he did before. Of course, we always worry about him. His best friend got thrown the last show of the season. She went one way and her horse went the opposite. She just got skinned up on her shoulder and was very lucky nothing broke.
My middle grandson is in trouble. He left gum in his pocket and it went through the wash machine. Thankful it had not gone into the dryer yet. His punishment was help get the gum off the clothes that it got on. I bet he also heard it from not only his mom but dad too.
Fergie is being used for therapeutic kids to ride this fall. She will be very good with them because their horses have to be walked when the kids ride. She is earning her keep instead of just eating. The boys have won several things on her including high point buckles. Of course, the other horses miss her.
Well I hope you all are enjoying a beautiful day wherever you are at. I just wish I was outside, but I am being good and staying in taking my medicine and resting. Have a great day.

Shirley, Glad your g.son is doing well. Mine is coming along. I laughed about that gum going through the wash...you would not believe all the things I have washed. I have told my family for years...I do not go thru pockets, unroll socks or undies. Yes, I have wash gum and chap sticks too. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
p.s. hope the cool weather helps all with allergies.

What a lovely visit to sit here and read about what's going on in your life! I am so sorry about you having a sinus infection! Cooler weather will sure help allergies here too! Right now I am coughing and hacking with a tickle in my throat and it feels like I even have a tickle in my chest!

You make the most of your days and are always keeping those precious hands busy!!
Love the Halloween Tea Towels!!

Lots going on in your life Shirley. Those boys sure do keep you busy. Gum in the wash , big bummer on that one. Hope you are feeling much better soon. A bad sinus infection as well as allergies is not good at all.
Best wishes,
Meredith

Hi Shirley! This cooler weather sure is nice, isn't it? I'm sorry you are having to deal with a sinus infection and allergies. I'm stuffed up and don't breathe well which affects my dizzy problems, but otherwise am okay. I hate winter, but will be glad to see the end of the summer heat and humidity. The fall season is wonderful and I wish it lasted until spring!
I'm glad to hear your grandson is doing much better. And the gum...oh my! That would be a chore getting that all off the clothes! I recently stuck something into a pocket of a pair of capris...one of those tiny pockets by the waistband...and forgot about it and washed it. Now I'm left wondering if it was something important I meant to keep, but I can't remember what it was!
Hope the new week is a good one. Take care, my Missouri friend!

I hope you feel well soon. I have bit of a cold, too, that hits me especially in the morning and I go into coughing fits throughout the day. I take Nyquil Day. Take care of yourself! And I'm so glad your grandson is doing better. Prayers answered!

Yes, fall is coming soon, how fast time goes!

Sending love and good wishes!

Hello Shirley. I sure hope the antibiotics are helping you lots. Ugh. I have washed and dried gum. A horrible mess.

Weather is cooler this week but I'm not ready to pack up my shorts just yet! Glad to hear your grandson is doing well. I have the same coughing problem. Doctor told me to take a Claritin D tablet everyday. It seems to help.

Dear Shirley...loved the story of your grand leaving gum in his pocket..reminded me how our son, David, used to leave money in his pockets...I would keep it and he would throw a fit about "needing that %5 for gas" (he was in high school...I'd save all the money I found and at the end of the week, give it back to him. hahhaa...we laugh about it now.
Feel better, dear one.

Hi Shirley - Haven't all of our kids left gum in their pockets at some point and time? Such a frustrating situation. I had the same sinus infection and it took over a month on meds to get rid of it. YUCK! Hope you are better soon. Precious little ones.

I'm not in any hurry for the seasons to change, but I've been having so many headaches lately I finally broke down this morning and started using a prescription nasal spray in case it's allergies causing the headaches. I don't like using the spray, but if it stops the headaches I'll be grateful!
Oh, and speaking of washers, mine stopped working yesterday. I sure wasn't planning to replace my washer right now, but I already know that's what the dealer is going to say because I called him to ask about a noise several months ago and he said go ahead and keep using it but don't use the fastest spin cycle because the noise meant a bearing was already "going" and they don't make machines to be fixed anymore, only replaced. I was not very happy about that, as you might imagine...my parents raised 5 kids - lots of laundry! - and had the same washer for over 30 years.
Oh well. At least it's not happening in the middle of winter when no delivery truck would attempt my driveway.
