Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all of the mom's out there. If your mother is still living, take time to give her a call even if you haven't always got along. You don't realize how much you will miss her until she is gone. You wish you could see her just one more time for her to show you something or give advise.
My grandson in blue waiting for someone to get him home at one of his ball games. They have won every game they have played so far. This week we will see how they play when they have three games back to back. Of course grandma has to go watch. It is fun to see how many grandparents that are in the audience that I know watching theirs play. Fun time. School is out for him this next week. The school year has flown. If he makes the A honor roll, he wants to go to Lambert's for supper. He is trying really hard. They have a copy of his birth certificate they take when he is playing because he looks older then 10. His mom is my wake up call. She calls every morning to check on me as she is going to work.
The fingers have been busy with custom orders while I sit at the nursing home. I took yesterday to stay home to get some things done, but other then that I have been there every day trying to get them to listen to me that there is a problem going on. I get so tired of hearing that it is his age. We are going to have a swallowing test done on Monday to see if when he swallows it goes to where it should. He has been coughing and it hurts when he coughs. I want to know if he has pneumonia. I know his ammonia level is back up. They were suppose to do blood work to see if that is going back down. If it is not one thing, it is another. It just gets very frustrating.
My oldest grandson finally has a job working in the evening busing tables at a restaurant. He works usually Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. His schedule changes so he has to check to see when he has to work. He has to help pay for the repairs to his truck. At least he is doing a lot of it under supervision at school which ends this next week for the summer. He will be able to mow my yard in the afternoon because he will only have class in the morning. I get to stay with his brother this summer. We will have fun.
My middle grandson got his hearing aid and it has helped with the ringing that he was having constant in his ear. He only wears it at school which is fine at the present because of the newness.
His accomplishment is he has learned to lope his horse he is going to show this summer. He keeps improving with each lesson. I am anxious to watch the boys ride this summer. They start the 21st of this month.
I have been trying to visit you all, but time is limited right now. I hope you all understand and say a prayer for us that we get some answers. Take care and have a wonderful weekend.

Happy Mother's Day to you, Shirley! Those grandsons sure keep you busy! Papa always came to my kids baseball, basketball and soccer games, even the girls. I give you a lot of credit, I never enjoyed playing sports or watching them. Watching daughter Abby play basketball was somewhat interesting but that's about it.

I hope they find the problem with your husband's swallowing. My mother had a problem in the nursing home where her food was going down into her trachea instead of esophagus and she kept developing pneumonia which was deadly with her lung cancer. She ended up with a feeding tube. She didn't seem to mind at all. One day I asked her if she could have anything she wanted by mouth, what would it be? Without hesitation she said, "A Coke"! She made me smile. It's now 15 years without her. :(

Love and best wishes to you, my friend.

Oh Shirley...so good to hear from you again and to hear what's going on. You are so blessed with such wonderful grandchildren. They all sound like such amazing boys! And bless your daughter for checking in on you everyday. My son is the same way...it is comforting just knowing they care. I saw some of your handy work on FB, you are really gifted! I loved the towel in reference to the nurse..(I will e mail you later about it)! I totally understand what you're going through at the nursing home. So-so frustrating!! But you just have to stay on them, however it's a fine line...(I always feared how they treated my Tom when I left..), but it seemed I had to complain everyday;( sad.... On the brighter side.....Happy Mother's Day my dear friend!!! Blessings to your day!!

Friends,
Gert

Shirley, I think of you sitting in the nursing home with your husband and doing your needle work. I am so thankful you have that for your peace of mind. It's also good you can get to be with the grandsons. Those boys will love you forever. I am sending good wishes for your mother's day and the week ahead. Bless you my dear friend, xoxo, Love, Susie

You have a lot on your mind and heart these days. It must be so frustrating to try to get the ones in charge to pay attention to you and YOU know your husband so much better than they do!! Good for you in being persistent!!!
God certainly has blessed you with the joy you get from your grands!!! and your daughter and family!
I didn;t get to see my mother today but she will be her a week from Friday to stay for 10 days and we are both looking forward to it! I will be having a little foot surgery and you know how mothers are! They want to take care of you if they possibly can!!
Praying you get someone to pay attention this week to your husband!!!

Shirley, I think you have a big heart. I hope you get answers for you husband's health. Sometimes it can be so frustrating in dealing with healthcare. But on the bright side, you grands keep you busy and your mind occupied on other thoughts, if only for a little while.

Much love to you.
xx, Carol
