IS IT HOT WHERE YOU LIVE???

Has it been hot where you live? We have had several days that have been uncomfortable. We could sure use some rain because everything is getting so dry.
I am sure glad my grandson got the hay put up before the worse heat hit. He got to drive the tractor instead of stacking or throwing bales, but did get sunburned. I didn't get sunburned this last weekend at the horse show. I got wind burned.
My son has been showing Juliet in halter because it seems like that is when my grandson has to go to work. His friend shows her in the riding classed. He got to pick on some of his fellow employee's the other evening because that is where he wanted to go for his birthday. It doesn't seem like he should be 17 years old. I can remember the day he was borned
Matt and tea biscuit were having a discussion before the first class at one of the horse shows. Each time he shows him it gets a little better. This past week he was learning to ride him without stirups and no reins. He was using his legs. I got to see the video.
I will be heading out to get him from school in a while.
I felt sorry for the lady who was a little older then me that couldn't remember where she parked her car at the grocery store. The store employee was going to help her What age or when do we relinquish our driving privileges? I know that it would be hard to do. I try to park where there is a row number or something that I can relate to when I go to my car. Of course, I could set off the alarm on my car to help me find it.
I will have two boys coming up instead of one. I don't think I will have a problem. My oldest will be coming closer to home in about another week. He got the job  that he applied for which makes me very happy. He is looking forward to moving back to this area. He get to see family more often which his nephews can't wait. They are marking off calendars.
I am glad that we didn't have a ball game the night it was so hot and there wasn't any air moving. I just thought that I would check in and let you know that I am still alive. Busy with the grandsons, hubby, and other things.
Still try to go to the nursing home about every day for a short visit before I go to pick up our middle grandson. Yesterday, my oldest grandson stopped in to see him and he was surprised. I told him you never knew who was going to drop by.
Well it is time to go so I will check in with you all later. Take care.

It has been miserably hot here, Shirley but today it cooled off lot. Your grandsons are strong little guys. Working in this sort of weather teaches them a lot...I just hope they know when to get in the shade and to drink lots of water!

Stay cool, my friend! :)

Hot and dry in Northern Indiana too! sometimes older people just don't know when to give up driving. I used to manage an insurance agency. We had one elderly lady with a wonderful 69 chevelle. She called to say she was in an accident...then we found out she was in three and didn't stop until the 3rd one. She was doing errands and just hit one car...a block or so hit another and kept going until the 3rd one stopped her. Yup, she got that car fixed and kept on driving. My father in law (90) just gave up driving and sold his car. He is sorry now that he didn't keep it It was time IMHO, but my husband doesn't see it that way.

Glad your son got the job and will be closer. Hope you get some rain. Usually it goes to the south or north of us.
xx, Carol

We had a couple days of triple digit weather, but for the past week it has cooled down and God has been doing the watering for us:). (We are in Ore)
Horse shows tend to be a fun kinda kicked back time - unless you are the one in the arena.

Shirley, The horse sure looks pretty. I am so glad your son gets to move closer and got the job. Wonderful. Yes, I see people confused and it's sad. It's scary for them to be driving. Most usually end up far from home one day while driving. Stay cool this weekend. Tell the boys to drink lots of water..young people get dehydrated too. Blessings, xoxo, Suisie

Shirley, it is always...always so good to see your posts. Yes, we have been having some terribly "hot" days. Today was that way, now tonight the wind is blowing like crazy out there. I pray the electric doesn't go off. Such good news hearing your son will be moving back! So glad he got the job! Your grandsons are so special! You seem to be so busy.i know your husband loves seeing you!

Blessings,
Gert

It's either boiling or freezing here - today it's boiling. I'm struggling with the extremes and so is my garden!
Very clever of you to look for a marker of sorts when you park your car. We live in such a small town it's hard to lose ours in a parking lot, but step-father lost his license a couple of years ago as he has dementia. He forgets just about everything except that!
Sounds like things are well with you and your family... hope you have an enjoyable summer filled with many happy family events.
