LIFE GOES ON

It has been a while since I have been here in blog land and so much has happened in my life. I had a car wreck the 23rd of 2017 which I had a broken leg. It took two surgeries and I am now walking without using any cane or walker. It has been a struggle for sure, but my goal was and is to walk like I did before the accident.
During that time I spent 94 days in a nursing home, then moved to what was a retirement home, but it was more like assisted living or a glorified nursing home only without 24/7 nursing care where I had a small studio apartment, Then I moved to my one bedroom apartment. I may have to do my own cooking, but

it is on my own timetable.
I got to go watch my grandson ride his horse even going to the State 4-H horse show with them. I had so much fun and he placed in 4 of the 6 classes that he rode in. You couldn't have asked for any better weather and it wasn't really that hot. I did a lot of walking and stairs and was tired when I got home, but I would do it all again.
I thought I would show you some of what the fingers have been doing getting some ready for my Etsy shop and a craft show. It will be the first one in over a year and I am looking forward to it.
It keeps my mind busy and gives me something else to think about.
I am sorry for the long post and for be missing from here, but after I lost my hubby in March I just didn't feel like it. I know it was a blessing, but you are never ready for it to happen. We had over 54 years together which was a long time. Life is like a roller coaster you go up hill and down hill.
I have popped in a few times and left some comments and I am looking forward to another adventure getting to watch my youngest grandson race his go-cart which will be interesting. They were waiting for the weather to cool down so it won't be so hot.
Take care everybody and enjoy your day.

I didn't know about your husband passing, Shirley. I am so sorry because, as we know, he is in such a much better place, just like Mr. Sweet, but o, how we miss them. Am I being selfish when I cry for him? I cry for my children, grands and myself because we all miss him so much. He was such a big part of our lives.
I am glad you are doing good after that wreck...
Yes, staying busy is very good for us...I try to keep each day filled with things I need, want or enjoying doing. Somedays, that's just simply eating and watching movies.

Good Morning Shirley. I am so happy to hear that you have your own apartment. Being able to do what you want, when you want is an important part of mental well being. The projects you stitched are so cute and colorful. You still have Golden Fingers!! I'm pretty sure your family stays close to you and keeps you entertained. You are a loved lady.
xx, Carol

Shirley, Sending sweet hugs to you. I have missed you and prayed for you. We know when a loved one in pain passes, it's for their better life, but our love makes us cling to them never wanting to let go. Glad you are doing well enough to be on your own now. Thankful you are once again watching your grandsons do their sports. I love your wonderful art works of embroidery. Blessings to you dear friend, xoxo, Susie

Beautiful embroidery, and sad to hear how things have been for you these last few months. I hope you'll be very happy in your new apartment and well done on walking. My arm is still not 100% after breaking it in April 2015 and after 4 operations, so knitting does it good.
