Ups and Downs

The temperatures have been up and down. My beautiful Magnolia tree is now brown after the freeze we had  last night. We had 81 degrees on Saturday, but it has been all downhill since with even having snow. Lots of accidents because of people driving like it was dry when there was black ice. I stayed home even though it melted later in the day.
Hubby is feeling a little better, but still has the horrible cough. It doesn't sound like it is on the lungs like it was, but still is not good. I have been taking vitamins and meds so that I don't get sick. I just have to many things to do.
I did watch the Boy scouts go mobile or go carts go down the hill. Some of the kids didn't even try to stop the cars when they were told to. I wondered where the parents was at.
My grandson went down the hill three times. He didn't go fast enough to win, but at least he did  it and he got his car stopped.
Do you have your plans made for Easter? I am to go to my Daughter's late Saturday afternoon. It was the only time we could get together with every body going a different direction on Easter. I will probably spend that day with my hubby.
I did get a couple of days at home just talked a  lot on the phone until he would go to coughing. I was up today to check on him. He looked better and the doctor did refill the cough syrup for him. I wanted him to especially take it at night so maybe he would sleep.
I was a taxi service this evening taking my oldest grandson home. He had practice after school. One more practice and then state here they come. I have been watching them build a green house at school while I wait on him. It is a really nice size. They want to have classes in horticulture and others. They want to teach the kids to grow their own food and etc.
I really appreciate those of you stopping by my blog. It means a great deal to me. I am trying to keep the mind occupied with other things so that I don't worry as much. I will try to make it around to visit as time permits.
First ball game is Friday night. It should be fun to watch. They have both boys and girls on a team. Some of the boys aren't really happy about it, but they all have to learn.
Hope all is well with you. Take care and have a wonderful Easter.

Hey Shirley - I am glad to hear you haven't caught the bad cough yet... I have had a bad one myself for a couple of weeks but am beginning to feel better, slowly. I hope your husband gets over his real soon.
Sounds like your grandchildren are keeping you busy - it must be such a joy watching them doing the things they love!
I was sorry to hear about your magnolia tree - I don't have one, but I do think they are very beautiful... hopefully the bad weather is all behind you now, and it will stay warm!
Hugs from Jillayne

Shirley...it sure seems like the colds are going around. I got your comment and I was so sorry to hear your husband has it. it's not good for anyone. I hope and pray he gets better soon and that you don't catch it.

We had the snow, too. So strange. I was actually going to plant some grass seed this week. You just never know with Mother Nature.

I know you will have a great Easter with your kids on Saturday. And then when I am slaving away at a hot stove on Sunday, you will be relaxing with your love!

Happy Easter my friend! :)

XO,
Jane

Oh Shirley..my prayers continue for you and your hubby! I know how difficult this has to be for you! We don't have any plans here for Easter. Normally we spend it with my dons family, but Tom's sister is with us and not doing well. We don't want to leave her alone! I pray we'll be able to go to Good Friday services... Only time will tell...

Stay safe, hugs to your hubby...

Blessings,
Gert

Shirley, What's a person to wear when the temperatures are so flaky...a swimsuit and an over coat?? I worry for people trying to drive on black ice...some people forget to think. Don't get me started on those guys. LOL. Gee, I hope your husband can get well soon. Sorry the tree is already brown...I hate that. Take care of yourself... xoxo,Susie

I was just bragging the other day that I got through winter without a cold or flu bug. And what happens? I woke up this morning with the most awful sore throat. I hope you escape this stuff and that you hubby gets over his real soon. This crazy MO weather doesn't help matters with warm temps one day and cold the next. I'm sorry the magnolia tree got frost bit. Have a nice visit with your family Saturday!

Shirley- I'm glad your husband is a little better-- I can only imagine how much you worry about him. I hope and pray that you can remain well-- that's the last thing you need to be sick.

You are so lucky to be able to see your boys as often as you do-- they are blessed to have a Grandmother who is so interested in their activities.

I hope a beautiful spring comes to you soon--

Love
Vicki

Hi Shirley! I think of you often and have been meaning to drop you a line, but time flies by and then the day is over. Praying for your hubby that he feels better soon. You are so right, this health care for all has made a mess of everything. I pray you stay healthy, at this rate none of us can get sick!
I usually have Easter but cancelled due to Melissa's surgery. Looking forward to a quiet day.
Glad you will be spending Easter with your family.
This weather has just been crazy. The changes have been so drastic! Hoping your Magnolia comes back.
Take care and thank you so much for stopping by. xoxoxo

I don't know how I missed this post, Shirley. I am glad your hubby is a bit better. I had that terrible cough, too. The ONLY thing that worked for me was Mucinex for Severe coughs.
Your grands are sure keeping you busy and that is a really good thing I think.
It will be nice to go to your daughter's house for Easter today. Hope you had a good time.

Have a blessed Easter, Shirley. I am praying for you and your hubby! xo Diana
