Happy Mother's Day

It is our special Sunday for being a mother. Please take time out of your day to make a phone call, make a short visit if possible, let them know that you care. You never know when they will no longer be with us and then you wish you had gone more often to see them.
My mother and mother-in-law are both deceased, but I still think of them and the things that they have taught me. Some things I wish that I had paid more attention to, but didn't. My mom was there for all of us kids and our friends as we were growing up. Always a house full of kids.
Those precious moments of watching my children grow into adults with their own children. My daughter celebrating her 20th anniversary of working for the same company yesterday. They had lunch then dairy queen ice cream cake. I asked her if it seemed like it was 20 years, she said no, but it is. She started right after she graduated from college with her brand new truck that we co-signed for her. Our banker loaned her the money and wished her luck with her new job. Now days you wouldn't be able to get a loan that easy. Small banks are a lot different then the big banks where you feel like you are only a number.
The wonderful feeling of knowing that all three have their college degrees makes you have that wonderful feeling when you look at their accomplishments. You watch them raising their children showing them that they need to work to accomplish their dreams. Just telling them that they need to do the job to the best of their ability. It is amazing what they can do if they really want to do so.
We had some crazy weather this week and I have been missing. Just to many things right now and not enough hours in the day. I have missed all of you and enjoy every one of your visits to my rambling. Have a beautiful day tomorrow. I am not sure what my day will bring, but I will be visiting the nursing home. I have been spending more time there making sure that all of the doctor's orders are being done.
Happy Mother's Day and enjoy your weekend. Ours is sun shining so far. Take care.

Shirley, You are so right about telling everyone if their mom is still around to be with her and hug ...time is slipping away. I miss my mom something awful. I think of times when I should have tried harder to make time for her...it's too late now. Wishing you a blessed Mother's Day, xoxo,Susie

Enjoy your Mothers Day. This year I do not have to cook the celebratory meal. So that will be special. I prefer love in action to sentimentality, and this fits the bill.
My mother wanted us to be independent and strong so she maintained her distance. Times have certainly changed. It is very nice to have an attentive and friendly relationship between mother and children. But it is hard to do without being clingy.
Shirley, you are a very caring mother and you can be proud of the results of your work. You seem to know how it should look from a distance and up close.

Shirley, your words this Mother's Day are so wise -- both in advising those who still have mothers or mothers in law to take the time to brighten their day (and days!) and also the importance of raising children to work hard to achieve their dreams. You're certainly an expert in raising loving, productive children! Happy Mother's Day to you!!

Happy Mother's day to you too. We had ours a few weeks ago here, it moves around for us as it is fixed by Easter.

Happy Mother's Day Shirley! I am glad your daughter is still happy in her job after 20 years!! :) Don't hear that as much anymore, do you? I am glad you are able to stay on the staff at hubby's nursing home. Enjoy your day!

Happy Wednesday to you Shirley! Sounds like you have a lot to be grateful for on Mother's Day! I love my son and grandchildren and greats so much and am so thankful for them.

I miss my Mom so much but have such fond memories as you do.
