Stormy Morning

The morning started off with thunder, lightening and rain with the temperature in the 50's. My electricity was off for a while for some reason but I don't know why.
The view outside hubby's window. He can look at the roses and watch the temperature gauge besides seeing who comes and goes in the parking lot. He likes the view so much better then the old room, plus has had better roommates.
The first horse show of the season is over and you needed to dress warm. We started the morning with frost on the ground and finally late afternoon it warmed up to the low 60's.

Matt got to show Fergie and that is the horse that he will show this season. He didn't do games and he didn't really want to do it. He did halter, trail, and walk trot. He looks so little on such a big horse, but then she takes care of him. All of the horses wasn't really liking the cool weather. They wanted to stay where it was warmer. Brother only did games in the afternoon. I don't know why we didn't show that morning. He wouldn't answer my question. He was doing o.k. because he got to ride Mud Bug for one of the other club member. He acts up with the owner, but didn't with Jake. We will see what happens at the next horse show.

Miss Bailey rode Cleo in the grand entry. She had never rode her until that morning and Cleo had never been around the flag before. They did an awesome job and Bailey told Jake it was a girl thing that Cleo behave so good. She rode her again in egg and spoon.

We actually were through before dark, but then we started at 9 A.M. Dad spend his time being in the arena with the judge.

I have been keeping busy embroidering tea towels. Horses, cows, you name it. I just have to keep the hands busy with something.

Well I need to get myself in gear and run my errands. I  had to wait until today to get my meds. The pharmacy didn't have enough to fill the order. It seems to happen that way quite often.

I have been praying for all of my friends during the stormy weather. Hoping they survived the flooding, the fires in Arizona and all of the other happenings. If you ride a motorcycle, please be careful. We have had one killed and one in the hospital in serious condition. Have a wonderful holiday weekend. Traveling be safe. Take care

There were thunderstorms all around us last night but we didn't get a drop of rain here.

It sounds like you have been busy with your grandkids! That is good!

I am glad you husband has a better view from his room now and a better roommate!

Love all the horsey news and the photos.
Go and talk to the pharmacist and tell him how often you need your tablets. Talk about his ordering schedule. If he knows you come every month then he can have your medications in stock. A different idea is for you to telephone him the week before and remind him you will need that medicine in a few days. Saves you a wasted trip.

Sorry you were in the middle of storms again.. We're to get some rain and storms Saturday night. We need rain so badly.

Sounds like your Grands are doing wonderful with their horses! And you're keeping busy watching them!

I'm glad your hubby has a nice view out his window. Really breaks the boredom!

Blessings,
Gert

I'm glad your hubby has a better room and view now. Hope we don't get any storms. We haven't had any rain yet here, but it sounds like a fairly good chance almost every day for several days! Take care, and have a nice Friday and weekend!

Hi Shirley- Wow- Those kids were all busy with their horseback riding. You are right. Your GS looks so little on that big horse.

Your hubby has a nice view out his window with the roses planted there. I am glad it is a better view and better roommate situation.

I am glad you are staying busy. I hope some of your handiwork is selling for you- xo Diana

Oh, dear Shirley...so much for us to worry about as we get older. Seems I spend more and more time in prayer for so many...
I am glad your sweetie likes his new room better. How hard it must be to have to live apart. It's good that we have places to care for us as we age.
I LOVE adverse weather, Shirley...love lightening, thunder, rain, don't even mind when our electricity goes off...am I totally weird.?? hahhaa....

Shirley- I really enjoy seeing photos of your boys and their horses-- they are such fine young men. We've had some really bad storms here as well-- that's the part of spring that I don't like!

Sending love
