Merry Christmas

Last day for shopping to get those last minute things. The mad dash to the grocery store for something that you forgot. I am glad that my shopping is all done. It is another cloudy drizzly day They are predicting snow, but who really knows.
The family will be gathering at the nursing home later this afternoon for Christmas with hubby. He will get to see his three grandsons and catch up with them.
I have been going up and checking on him. He has a new friend who is having to move to a nursing home. They both know people in common so it gives them something to talk about. His family has kinda adopted hubby as part of theirs. We all set at the supper table last night visiting for a while.
I had to go to the city Monday for my mammogram. It rained all the way down and back. Everything was fine which I knew it would be. I was glad to be home because when the semi's passed you. It was hard to see. I don't know why people drive without their head lights. I had them on because it is a state law that if your windshield wipers are going, your head lights are to be on.
The baby quilt is progressing slowly, but I will get it done. Three days until my oldest will be home. We are all anxiously awaiting to see him especially three boys. They are already making plans on what they want him to do with them. Hopefully we can find the time to take a family picture which I would love to have. We haven't had one for quite a while.
Midnight mass is always a beautiful time of the year. We would go and then come home to eat together before heading home. Of course, you never slept late after the kids came because they were always sure to wake you up. I miss it, but I don't want to go by myself.
It is getting better each year, but I still think of my dad who passed a way on Christmas Day. I have lit my candle for all of those in need and said my prayer for all of them. My list keeps growing, buy I don't have to worry about a fire because my candle  is battery operated. It looks so pretty with the flame flickering.
Whether you stay at home or traveling, be safe and have a wonderful Merry Christmas. I won't say don't eat to much because we always do with all of the cookies, candies, and other special food we only eat once a year. You know you have to have chocolates.
Enjoy family and friends and if you know someone who needs just a phone call to say Merry Christmas. Do it. It will make them feel good and you too  I need to run. I will be back . Merry Christmas

Hi, sweet friend. I am glad you had a merry time at Christmas. It's always so good to see family and friends we don't get to see often enuf.
Hope your hubby is doing better...and I know how much you miss your dad. We never get too old to miss our sweet parents. I sure miss mine and more so at this time of year, I guess.
Take care, stay busy and show us that baby quilt. :)

Dearest Shirley -- I think of you often -- just dont make it here to leave comments as often as I would like--
I always pray for your husband and for you -- remembering that this is not the easiest of times for you. You are blessed to have such a loving family --- your boys are beyond precious.

Thank you for your friendship which means so very much to me. I pray that the New Year brings many blessings to you and your family.

Love,love,
Vicki
