This and That

We have actually had a spring this year with so many beautiful flowers and trees. We have the yo-yo weather as far as the temperatures have been concerned, but today the sun is shining and going to be a beautiful day. The worse part is the allergies. They especially bother when people have their yards sprayed.
I have been busy visiting the hospital and it isn't because of my other half. He is doing rather well at the present time for which I am thankful for.
My son-in-law is back on the road to recovery and starting cardio rehab. He is wanting to get back to work because he isn't used to watching other people do his yard work for him. He is use to going out the door to work and working in his garage. He hasn't been released to drive yet, but he is improving after have the 5 bypass open heart surgery.
My brother went back to the hospital after having another stroke. He ended up passing away yesterday. It is hard when you lose a family member, but I keep telling myself that he is in a better place after breaking his leg in 5 places between the knee and ankle. I know he had to be in pain because of that with the metal plate and pins in the knee and the rod from his knee to the ankle. He really did a number on his leg. He wasn't just dealing with that but he also had dementia. I always worried if he drove the car if he would be able to find his way back. As I told my nieces I didn't care if it was only to walmart he could get turned around. He has a special place for me because he took care of me when I was little changing my diaper. I was the littlest when I was born because of being a twin, but my twin didn't make it. I am still the smallest of the brothers and sisters. He was 83 years young and they would have been married 59 years. I am just sad that it was on their wedding anniversary that he passed away. He always loved teasing the kids and all of my brothers enjoyed teaching them some of the things I would have sooner they hadn't but it gave them memories of an Uncle and brother who served his country during the Korean conflict in the Army. All of my brothers excepting one served our country and the only reason he didn't was because having a family including a son.
They say they can see my other half when he wears his neon yellow  sweatshirt that I just bought as a joke. I really didn't think he would like it.The picture is one of my latest.
In just about 18 days I will be hanging as my grandson says with him. I am looking forward to it. His big brother will be working as much as possible because he wants to get him a vehicle when he turns 16 which is in June. He has to pay half of what it cost. The one that he found at first was over his budget, but they may have found one.
Sorry for the long post but that is what has been going on in my life at the present time. Take care.

Hugs to you my dear friend. Shirley I hate that your sweet brother has passed on and had to go through all that he did . He is whole and new now with our Lord. I lost one of my brothers in Feb. Now my husband Ted's brother Ray has been given a diagnoses of 6months to a year with mesothelioma. It's so tough at times. I found a beautiful saying on someone's blog the other day, it goes like this...Grief never ends, but it changes. It's a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith...it's the price of Love....I would love to give credit to the author but I am afraid I don't remember where I picked this up.
Tell you husband he looks fine in his bright shirt.:) Hope you can enjoy all the time with your grandsons. Also praying for your SIL to be healed 100 percent. xoxo,Susie

Condolences on the loss of your brother, Shirley. Dementia is a long loss in itself, and it sounds as if his passing is an end to suffering for him. I hope that thought will be a blessed relief to all who love him.

Bless your heart!
It seems we have a fair amount of sorrow but an equal share of joys all at the same time.
You do stay so busy and I imagine that's a good thing for you. I know I am happiest when I am doing things.
I am so sorry about losing your brother. It's wonderful to know he is with the Lord and no longer suffering. I have not lost any close family members yet. I suppose it will come someday so I am enjoying every minute I have with my siblings now....just as you did!

Sorry to hear your brother passed. As we get older, losses happen all to often. My father in law is 90+ and we just convinced him last year that he cannot drive anymore. My nephew got him a golf cart to drive around the neighborhood. All of my husband 's family except one brother live in our neighborhood which is three blocks long by three blocks wide. It's a rather rural area so he can just tool along and visit which ever of us he wants too.

Shirley, I always enjoy your posts. Have a wonderful day.
xx, Carol
