Rainy, Rainy, Vacation

I wanted a few days off from work to take a mini vacation. Basically a change of scenery for a few days. Well we left Thursday Morning in the rain and it rain all day on us, plus Friday, Saturday and it poured on us coming home. I manage to unload the car without getting wet, but that was the first. We did manage to unload the car at the motel without getting that wet.
We went to Branson, Missouri for our mini vacation. We rode the ducts which I enjoyed because someone else did the driving. I tried taking a few pictures, but I don't think they turned out very good. It definitely wasn't picture taking weather. It was pretty with the fog coming up out of the trees when you were in the hills. It made it look like someone had a stove going with smoke coming out.
We went to two really good shows. The first was the Magnificent Variety Show which started with music from the 40's to the current day. The two main stars of that show has a little 5 year old daughter that performed in the show. She was really cute. We have gone to this show starting before she was born because it changes every year. They use to have a dinner show, but the theatre they were in got sold and the new theatre they can't serve dinner in it. The funny thing is the show that was coming into their old theatre has ran into a snag. They were bring a show call Kung Fu from China. They are having problems getting their visa's so they don't know if it is going to open up or not.
The second show we went to was called Shake, Rattle, and Roll. It was all the 50's music which was awesome because it was back when we were in high school. It was really high energy and they had very good vocal singers as well as dancers. I would go sit through them again because we enjoyed them that much. We brought home a video of the Shake, Rattle, and Show.
One thing about this trip, I didn't go shopping in the rain. I was tired of getting wet. Unless you went to a place where you were inside, you just didn't go because it was raining and at times it would absolutely poured. It didn't stop some from going to Silver Dollar City, but they were really soaked when they got back to the motel. They didn't need to worry about getting wet on the water rides.
It will take me a little while, but I will be catching up with you to see what you all have been up to. You all have a wonderful day.

That happened to us last year!! It was raining so hard on the highway, it came to a full stop. You couldn't see anything. It lasted the whole way! Just like you when we got to Florida it was raining every single day! I just got back from Florida yesterday, and this time it was gorgeous! They can't all be perfect!

Glad you got to get away, even if it did rain! You all deserve a little rest and fun.
Dad got to come home from the hosp. Mother's Day night, but all last week we had to do more tests and office visits. This week seems to be a bit of the same, but now Mom as a touch of the flu! Seems we can't get a break.
Take care!

Hi Shirley!

I've never been to Branson, but from what I've heard, there's some really great entertainment there. I may be headed up that way this Summer, it'd be fun to check it out. :-)

Have a wonderful week!

Hi sweetness. Glad you had a little mini getaway even if it was wet. We finally got some rain here. It always makes me sleepy. I love to go on the back porch and watch it come down.

Hi Shirley,
Happy you got to take a mimi vacation, sorry it rained on you but sounds like you had fun anyway and hopefully got to rest some from your daily chores.

I haven't been to Branson either. My hubby wants to go really bad so maybe the travel fairy will get us there one day. I have to do all the driving as he has macular degeneration so I will have to invest in a very good GPS to get me around. I can get lost in my own backyard - lol!

Hi Shirley,
Sounds like you had a great trip even though it rained a lot. The shows sound like they were very good. We have been to Branson one time about 10 years ago and it was fun.
We are suppossed to have storms tonight but warm up to 92 degrees tomorrow. Summer will be here soon.

Thank you for stopping by. Always great to see you.
Hugs, Celestina Marie
