Different Weekend

I needed a bouquet of flowers after the day on Friday. It was so stressful in more ways then one. I was so stress that I didn't even go to my grandson's ballgame which they won. I had several discussions with them at the nursing home about some different issues all because of some not doing there job. I don't know if we were going forward or two steps backward. We go see the orthopedic doctor this Friday. We have the Oats bus taking us and not the normal one so we will see how that goes. Some of the care changes when you are forced on to medicaid.

This is what the horse arena looked like this morning after the rain last night and early this morning so needless to say the horse show was cancelled. The picture was taken by Joe Schrock . I could see my grandson and some more little ones playing in the mud and water to see who could splash the other one the most.
Last night was the birthday party for my oldest grandson. His birthday is actually the 12th. but we celebrated when we all could get together. Supper was yummy. We had barbecue ribs, baked potato casseroles . One was made with chicken soup and the other with mushroom soup. green beans, salad. veggie tray, and cherry cobbler made in the dutch oven over the coals. Oh! I forgot the garlic bread.  I brought some of the cherry cobbler home and had it for breakfast with a cup of coffee.
It was pouring down rain when I left their house. I didn't realize it was so late.  I slept in so I would have been running a little behind if they had the horse show. The first two was rained out. This next weekend they have two that are back to back. Today being there wasn't any horse show, I went to a jewelry party that my daughter was having. You build your own necklaces. They were so much fun to do. It was raining when I came home. I think I will just stay put and rest instead of going out again today.
Hope you all have a wonderful week .

Aw, I would send you a bouquet of flowers if I could. At least you had a good time with your family, the cobbler on the grill sounds awesome!

We've had a lot of rain which is good, our front lawn had to be dug up and reseeded a few weeks ago due to grubs. It's coming in nicely and it's so nice to not have to be running out turning on the sprinkler all the time! Tomorrow I'm planting flower pots...finally!

I hope you have a good week and that all goes well with the doctor's appointment.

XO,
Jane

Hi Shirley, I'm so sorry to hear about all your stress from the nursing home. I do hope things in that area get better for you. Your barbecue sounded delicious, and that jewelry party sounded like such fun. I've never gone to one of those. Have a good week, sweetie! xo

Hi Shirley. I do pray for a calm week ahead for you. Sometimes you just have to sit back and have a cup of tea and relax a few minutes. Give yourself time to gather your thoughts and gain a little more strength.

Hi Shirley, it's lovely to catch up with you again. Sorry about all the stress , do try to keep your stress to a minimum, it is very bad for you. Your hubby I am sure treasures you for taking good care of him, even now in a nursing home, you must miss him a lot . The things we have to go through huh? Thank you for sending prayers for my sister, much appreciated :)

Dear Shirley,
You were making me hungry with all that good food. To bad the horse show was rained out bet they were really looking forward to it. You and hubby are always in my prayers as well. It's so sad to have our husbands in this condition. Mine only takes a few steps to get to the bathroom but with that little bit of walking, since he has drop foot it really has done damage to his leg and foot. We have Scan insurance and the medicine would of been $100. but we only had to pay $8. thank God for that. Nursing homes are always a problem, I know had my aunt and mom in there. Hope things get better for you. Thank you for your prayers. Blessings...Lu
