Quiet Weekend

A beautiful start of the day with the clouds slowly disappearing and the sun shine starting to be brighter. It is a nice 72 degrees at the present time and I hope it stays that way.
Last day at driver's training class for my oldest grandson. He has been driving with both his parents, but they want him to have more experience before they give their permission to drive my car.  I got to sleep late this morning because his dad had the day off so he took him before he started his errands today.
It will be a quiet weekend with the  boys not showing their horses. They could have gone to one, but they didn't have that many classes for them it wasn't worth the haul. It is momma 's birthday this Sunday so they decided to celebrate it instead. I don't know what they have planned for her other then they are going fishing. It is her weekend to do whatever she wants to give her a break from the norm.
Do you ever wonder just what normal is anymore? Will all of the turmoil continue to get worse all over the world?
Matt has started his exercises at home that seem to be helping with the dizziness. He can set still longer at a time and doesn't seem to be going 90 miles a hour.  Their next doctor appointment will be with the ear, nose, and throat specialist to decide what they are going to do for his hearing lost. We are so thankful for Children's Mercy doctors to take care of all of our little ones who need something special.
I have been busy embroidering to keep me from thinking about what is going on at the nursing home. I know I will have to address issues when I go there today. His blood sugar is so all over the board from high to low. He says he just doesn't feel good. I sometime wonder if that is just to put a quilt trip on me because I haven't been there for a couple of days. I just know when I ask him if he told them, he says it won't do any good. It just makes me frustrated.
I am going to enjoy sleeping in the next couple of days and doing some of the things that I want to do. I will go to the nursing home to try to figure out just what is going on, but other then that I am doing whatever I feel like today.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I know it will be warming up, but I have sure enjoyed the cooler weather. Take care.

You need time for yourself. You give so much of your time and attention to all those around you. I am happy too to hear your little one is getting the care he needs. I will keep you, your husband and all your family in my thoughts and prayers. Yes, sadly the TV news is so sad to hear....

Shirley, I agree with Prairie Patch Quilt..You need some time for yourself. I think you should find someone you can trust to talk with at the home. You maybe a right about your husband...he's not happy there and wants you to maybe bring him home. My daughter works in a home and care for Alzhiemer's patients. She talks with family memebrs lots., to assure them they are doing what they can and to assure the families that the patient is getting the right meds and food. The families need to know this...so they don't go around feeling guilty. It's a sad things. I will pray for you and your family. xoxo,Susie

Glad to hear you are all getting a bit of a break this weekend. And glad little Matt is getting the help he needs. My Dad is a bit like your husband, I think he says things about his health to get more attention from me. When I suggest he goes to the Doctor, he alwyas says they never help.
Hugs to you Shirley,
Meredith

The weather in MO has been wonderful this week! I agree with the others that it sounds like you need a day...more than a day, really...for yourself. I think we all need that sometimes. Take care of yourself, Shirley, and have a nice weekend! You and your family will be in my prayers.

Hi, Shirley...thanks so much for coming by.
I think we all need ME TIME...good for you to take some for yourself.
I remember when my dad was in a nursing home...I, too, felt guilty if I didn't go every day. I finally just couldn't go EVERY single day and on the day I didn't go, I'd call him, we'd talk and all was ok.
