Weekend Rain

I drove home from the nursing home in the rain tonight. It was raining hard enough I had to turn on the windshield wipers. We went to see the orthopedic surgeon today and thought that everything was going good to only find out after the x-rays were taken this evening that his right hip is dislocated.  He had just started putting weight on it today and took 4 steps. We go to ER tomorrow and the orthopedic surgeon is on call. They are to notify him of our arrival and I don't know what will happen from there excepting we are back to where he can't put any weight on it again. I have cried this evening, but I had left before he saw the tears come.
I have to get myself back strong with whatever comes. If they admit him to the hospital, I will come home because I am to babysit my oldest two grandsons and I need a change of scenery. I don't want to miss the time I was to get to spend with them, but we will have to wait and see.
Even if he had been able to continue to put weight on hip, we knew we were going to have to take Christmas to him. I watched physical therapy today and he has a long ways to go to build back the strength that he has lost.
Let us say prayers for all of those who lost their lives in the shooting today. It doesn't make sense to me. They were so young to have their lives snatched from them. If you have a child, give them an extra hug tonight.
The picture is of my youngest grandson. They are doing Christmas theme's at school . The theme was Snowmen. This is Mr. Snowman with his corn cob pipe. I  thought he made a cute snowman. The Christmas tree in the background is one of many that his other grandma has up in their home. She decorates every room and some even have two trees. Beautiful.
Oh yes, I won Maggie's fudge giveaway and it arrived today. I have already had two pieces and it is yummy, yummy, yummy, It is one of the things I like during this holiday season.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and say an extra prayer for me.  I will update you when I know more.

Shirley- I am so sorry for your hubby and so sorry for you, too. It is so disappointing to get this far into recovery and then have another problem. I can only imagine the pain he is in...and the emotional pain is just as bad for BOTH of you. I feel bad...maybe you just need a really good cry!!!

I think your little snowman is adorable...corncob pipe and all.

This mess with the babies at the school makes me sick. xo Diana

I came over from Blondie's blog to say hi, and I hope your hubby heals fully and quickly. That is good you can have a change of scene with your grandkids.
