2014 ???

What will the New Year bring remains to be seen, but we did get more snow and the bitter cold. The wind blew and we were below zero. We have warmed up to a whopping 10 degrees this morning, but I would much sooner have it warmer.
We are praying for a better year. It will be filled with watching our grandsons play whatever sport, seeing them ride horses, taking pictures to grandpa so he can watch. One of my goal will be learn how to take a video with my camera. I think he would enjoy that.
The snow came yesterday afternoon fast and furious with the temperature dropping. I was out for a little while before it started. I had lost a set of keys while I was at Hobby Lobby on New Year's eve, I was lucky they found them. That started my New Year off right. I was worried. I had to go to Joann's because they had their embroidery thread 30cents a skein. That was a bargain and I am working on quilt blocks at the moment.  Why do they always tell you less thread then you really need for the project?  You only hope that you can find some more so that you can finish it.
The driveway has been bladed, steps scooped, now if the fairy would only clean my car. That fairy is staying in the house it is to cold. The street is snow packed, so I am hibernating. I have been doing some reading of blogs and I will try to catch up with some more of you today. You know I haven't missed going out in bad weather to go to work. It is rather nice to be able to stay home if you want to. My hubby doesn't want to worry about me in bad weather we just talk by phone several times a day.
The sun is shining which makes it look warmer then it really is, but I have  a cup of hot tea close by so I am good. I alternate between it and coffee. I don't want to bake anything because I would eat way to much of it. Although a gooey cinnamon roll wouldn't be bad.
I hope all of you are safe and warm. Mother Nature isn't being kind to us again, but with being careful we will survive. If you are traveling, please be careful. Have a wonderful day. Take care.

I waited all morning for the good fairy to come and clean my car off. She/he did not appear so I went out and froze my bottom end off and cleaned it myself.

I am tired of winter. I hope the weather lightens up soon! Stay warm!!

I am so glad you found your keys, Shirley. I lost a set when my Lulu was little and she was carrying them around and we never did find them. I think she threw them in the trash basket.

Glad you are staying in where it is warm and safe. God bless you in the upcoming year. xo Diana

Clean the car??? Why? I am almost certain I cleaned my car in 2012. The car still works.

we are getting snow and cold temps as well. Best to stay in and not go out if you can. It's good you can talk to your husband by phone on days like this.
Glad they found your keys. (((((HUG)))))

Brrrr! I don't think I'd do well living in a place with such cold temperatures. I've lived in Southern California my whole life and feel super cold when the temps drop into the 40's. I know, I'm a wimp. lol Stay warm and safe. And, best wishes for a wonderful 2014!

Hi Dear Friend Shirley,
Dropping by to wish you, your hubby and all of your family a Very Happy New Year 2014. All we hope for is good health for all of us. How is your hubby doing? Mine is about the same, unable to walk, have lots of work and no time really for much else. Many Blessings...Lu

Stay in and be safe and warm!!! We had 20" of snow since last night, it is now 5 degrees out there and wind chill at minus 15. It is winter after all!!! My car is safe in the garage all clean and warm.....I may venture out tomorrow afternoon just to pick up a few things at the grocery store.....a reprieve is coming for the weekend but back to another big storm next week. Praise God, I am safe and warm, cooked a big pot of homemade soup today and it warmed up the whole house!!

Happy new year to you, Shirley!! xoxo

I think you are doing what so many of are...just waiting it out. Going out in the car as little as possible. And yes...it's hard to resist the sweets when you long for comfort food and are cooped up!! I have not been to the grocery store since before Christmas food and that was mostly for food that I needed to bring to parties. So the cupboards are bare as Mother Hubbard would say!! Thankfully the store is just a few blocks away and my daughter will take me...my back is still out of whack and I'll need help loading the car. She calls it "Driving Miss Daisy"!!!

Off I go to bed. I'm wishing you a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. Please know I treasure you as a blogging friend!

XO,
Jane

Bitter cold here too- expecting snow tomorrow. Round 2 for my eyes is Monday--

I think most of us are getting hit by the snow and frigid weather, Shirley! I like a day home with nothing to do sometimes. It is a good opportunity for me to get some sewing in! : ) Glad you found your keys. That is anxiety no one needs!

Thank you for your sweet comment on my toddler tote for my granddaughter. Did I email you back that I was thinking of boy themes that could be done?
