ROUGH FEW DAYS

Storm clouds moving into our area. i don't like it when we have tornadoes on both sides of us and you don't really know where they are going. To many of those lately and it doesn't matter where you live. As some of you know, I live in what they call tornado alley. It always bothers me when they tell me we are in a tornado watch. Last night I talked to my daughter while she drove home. She was telling me about how the sky looked. She went through a wall cloud, and thankful it was only heavy rain. We have flood water in the low lying areas along the Missouri River which is across town from me.
At least  it cooled it down from the temperatures that we have been having the last few days. We have sunshine and 76 degrees right now. I can handle that for a change.
My grandson Matt tried Mutton Bustin this last Saturday evening. I didn't get to see it, but dad has it on video. I am anxious to watch. He is my dare devil and not really scared of anything. I don't know if that is good or bad.
I love the picture of us and our three boys. Ethan in the middle is the youngest. My ornery one is in the front sitting beside his grandpa. They are the ones that keep me going and help me keep active. I don't really know what I would do if I didn't have my family and grandchildren to help keep my sanity.
Trying to get someone to listen to you, is like pulling teeth at times. Sometimes easy, and sometimes you wonder if you will get it done at all.
Another horse tea towel off the hoop. I am working on a baby quilt right now for a change of scenery. I have almost two blocks done and will start the third one this afternoon while I am at the nursing home.
Hope you all have a safe 4th of July. They are having fireworks tomorrow evening for the nursing home patients and their families. The 4th  I will go to my daughter's. Then on Saturday evening she and I will be going to a wedding. So it is busy, but it is the way I like it. It helps makes the days go by.
If you are traveling be safe, but have a wonderful 4th of July. Take care

Also....stay safe. So much rain. I remember how bad your area can flood. Hope the rain lets up soon.

That is a wonderful photo of you and your family, Shirley.
My son was driving to Nebraska from KC for work late night before last when the tornado warning was announced just south of you. I was watching the radar knowing he was traveling and called him and said he'd better stop before he got too close to the tornado warning area. He did and waited about an hour before going on. Thankfully, he made it fine. It seems like there are a lot of tornado watches this year. We were under one until 1 am this morning as well as night before last. I wish some of this rain could be saved for later this month and August!
Enjoy your week and have a fun 4th!

Shirley, I know what you mean about your children and grands. I thought they would be the death of me at times. I use to tell my daughters they were my anchor and my float...they would keep me a float when I thought stress, work, bills,& raising them would be the end...they were my anchor and keep me stable. Now they are my best friends. Funny how things turn out. Blessings to all of you, xoxo,Susie

Glad you are safe and your weather has cooled down. We had a storm come through last night and our family was in our basement at 3 am because the sirens went off. Love the pictures you shared!! Enjoy your holiday weekend!!

Love the picture so much too. So nice to have. Rain was here for 3 days; thought it would never stop. But, today it is just windy. The news says we are in for sun and warm weather. We will see. So happy you have your family and that you stay so active with them. Take care and Happy 4th of July.

What an excellent portrait of you and your family!
We had a tremendous rainstorm this afternoon that went on for several hours...made a nice change from the awful heat lately, but now the ground is mud in the paddocks. Oh well...will be dried out and hot again soon, no doubt. Stay safe in whatever weather appears in your neck of the woods, Shirley :)
