HARD DECISION

I haven't quite lost my mind with my picture saying to my Valentine. I just liked the flowers and white dove,
I have made the decision to close my booth at the antique mall at  the end of June. I really don't know if it is a smart move or not, but they were raising the rent, taking a percentage of your sales if it is paid for with a credit card. Then they want to charge you another fee if you don't walk for them at the mall.
I am a primary care giver and I don't have the time to donate. It would be different if they gave you something in return, but the attitude is that they want everything. I am not selling that much at the present time. I think that it is because people do not have extra money at the present time with the price of gas, utilities, and groceries. I know I spent this week's pay check on medications tonight. You just don't have the extra money to throw down the tube as the saying goes. I haven't really felt comfortable there and I have two things that got broke that was hidden in my booth. They said they didn't hear  them break . I find it hard to believe, but I said that it was a learning experience. Have you ever had the feeling that you weren't really wanted, but just being tolerated? I have that feeling and when I paid my rent she could never remember my booth number nor do I think that she even remembered my name. That is enough on that subject at the present time.
Do you have lot planned this weekend? I know that I have three days off work. Hopefully it doesn't rain anymore and we get to go to our grandson's first t-ball game. It will be so much fun. I am getting my hair cut  and on Sunday we are going to hubby's aunt's 100th birthday open house. We plan on fitting in the cemeteries sometime probably on Monday.
I, also, plan on sleeping later, but I will probably wake up the normal time. Don't you normally do that.
The picture to the left was taken on one of my daughter's job site. They were pouring concrete under water to fix a concrete spillway at a dam. I don't understand how it is done, but I just thought the picture was interesting with the type of equipment necessary. She had another picture of a lot of water where a river had gone out of it's bank. That is what we are dealing with in our area. It doesn't help that the corp of engineers is letting water out  to help another area, but because of all the rain it is flooding areas.
I know one that is building a brand new home on a lake and it may get flooded before it is finished. The water level at the lake is rising .
I hope you all have a wonderful and safe weekend. My heart and prayers go out to those dealing with the storm lost. Take care.

Hi Shirley:
I think I would probably close a booth, too, if I were you. It doesn't sound like the value you nearly enough.

I hope it stops raining for you. Feel free to send it down here as we could use it.

Enjoy your weekend doing something fun with someone you love.

Hugs from your Florida friend.

Hi Shirley! I feel for you. It's not an easy decision to make. I know you have enjoyed having your booth, but you may just need to take a break. Have a nice weekend. Twyla

Hi Shirley totally understand where you are coming from we got the same in the flea market after 10 years my husband finally said that's enough. Sometimes it helps to unload one burden so you can spend your time where it is really needed.

Hi Shirley!

That was a good move to close down your booth. I did the same thing a couple of months ago. I've had many over the years but the high rents and the cost of doing a business like that well...if you can see it as a fun hobby that is one thing but if it's to make money that's another thing. My tax man said after a year of doing it and the expense etc...I almost went in the hole but I had fun!

I'm new to your blog and I invite you to mine when you find a minute. I know caregiving can be a full load.

Happy Memorial Day to you...the day is almost done but our soldiers are not forgotten.
