THE WEEKEND

The weekend has definitely not been the one I was anticipating. The stormy weather had a lot to do with it that started on the Friday afternoon.
Our grandson's first t-ball game was cancelled on Saturday so we went on an excursion to Jamesport, Missouri. We went to a new country store that I had been hearing about. Needless to say I liked the other country store better. It had more things to chose from.
While I was there, I stopped in at the fabric shop. They have changed it all around since the last time I was there. I didn't think that they had as much in the store as they did previously. It seemed strange to see some of the shops closed not just closed on a Saturday, but closed else wise. The economy is causing people to be  hurt everywhere.
I have found a neat quilting shop in Cameron that has a lot of new fabrics that are so pretty and make you want to get really busy. They have ordered some Halloween tea towel patterns for me that I have been trying so hard to find. They are suppose to be in this next weekend. I can't wait to see them. If they were being made for anyone else, I wouldn't care so much. They are for my daughter-in-law to use as a shower gift. They had just got in a new fabrics for fall. Some had scenes on them that you could easily embellish and make into wall hangings. I just wish I had more time. I did manage to have "me" time today while my son and his dad went for a drive up to Squall Creek near Mound City, Missouri to see what birds they could see. They were looking for the bald eagle.  I got several things done such as a couple loads of laundry, washing my hair, and finished up a pot holder. I, also started a place mat. I have never worked with a material that is so hard to get a needle through as this material has been. Let's just say I am not going to do another set when this set is finished.
Last night we got caught in the start of a nasty storm, but made it home. I almost pulled off to wait it out, but I am so glad that I didn't. It stormed all night long and we were lucky not to have a tornado, but there was some wind damage. The storms have been to the south and east of us tonight. Joplin, Missouri I understand was hit by a tornado and it was still on the ground headed for Branson. They just pop up so very fast and of course, the temperature is just right for them. In the storm last night we watch it go from 83 down to 66 in less then a half hour.
Everybody stay safe and have a good week.
P.S. Meet Abby Mae, one of my youngest grandson's new puppy. I don't have a picture of Doc his other puppy yet. He has so much fun playing with them.

Sounds like you had a marvelous weekend. Be safe, those storms we saw on TV & they'd scare the tar outta me for sure.
