It's The Weekend

The weekend plans are changed. A lot of outside activities have been cancelled because of the heat in our area. I got to come home a little earlier. They were working on an a/c unit on the roof across the street and our lights went out. No electricity, we can't do anything really. It was almost time to come home anyway.
The horse show was cancelled which didn't really upset me because I knew we wouldn't be able to go after the last time of trying.
We are still in a heat advisory until next Wednesday. You just drink a lot of fluids and stay hydrated.  We have the week free of doctor appointments at the moment.
We actually stayed home tonight. The last couple of nights hubby has had a problem after we have gone to dinner. We don't know if it is heat related or what. Talked to the doctor's office and got told just make him drink fluids and watch that it doesn't come back. I keep wondering if it was related to the big dose of iron that he got on Monday with the steroids. I know that it sent his blood sugar off the chart and we have been working to get it back down. He even wanted to stay home tonight which I didn't have a problem with at all.
Wasn't the tragedy in Aurora, Colorado something else? What is wrong with people to take so many innocent lives? Booby trapped his apartment which could have killed a lot more people. He has to be smart to be accepted in medical school, but I just don't understand.  It was only 11 miles from where the Columbine shooting occurred several years ago.
You pray each day that God will keep you safe because you sure don't know anymore. We had a car jacking at the shopping area close here to the house. I just know I am more observant of my surroundings. You all have a good weekend and try to stay cool. I will be popping in and out as I am working on a commission project at the moment. Take care.

Be careful in that heat. We have had some rain and it's humid but cooler for now.
My son is probably in or near the apartment of the shooter right now. We haven't heard anything all day from him since he was called out. I know that he is safe but still worry since he is right in the middle of it all. I cannot believe how mnay people this person has hurt. So stupid.

I'm glad you're looking at a week free of doctors' appointments! You've sure had more than your share lately. And I hope the heat lets up on you as well.

It really is hard to understand what would motivate an obviously bright young man who could have had such a terrific future to commit such an atrocity. So much hate and anger and destruction -- and then to know that, as terrible as it was, it could have been worse with that booby-trapped apartment. Even with all my experience and training in psychology, some things are impossible to understand.

This heat really is horrid. Today it's cooler though and we are supposed to have rain all day. We need it though because everything here is brown and crispy.

I hope your husband starts feeling better soon!
