Big Weekend

The week and month is almost over and I really don't know where it is gone. We have a lot of activities that you can chose from this weekend. You can attend the airshow with the Blue Angels, go to the Apple Blossom Parade and see the Clydesdale horses, go to the opera at the local college, attend a barbecue cook off, a quilt show, an ice show, a big flea market, that is to just name a few.
I know we want to go to the airshow, but I don't know which day it will be. It depends on whether my son has to work Saturday or not. I know it will be fun and we will see some really neat planes that are going to be on display. We haven't had an air show like this for along time.
Does anybody have any suggestions as what to do for a preschool graduation present? My grandson Matt is having a graduation ceremonies the 20Th of this next month. They have their little caps and gowns to wear. They are going to have a program that if it was anything like their Christmas program it will really be cute. The 5 year old can really be fun to watch.
We only had an eight grade graduation, and high school graduation programs back when I went to school. Now they have more.
I am back working on a baby quilt that I need to finish for a very special little one. He came into this world three months early weighing less then 2 pounds. He is now up to almost three pounds and is really gaining. He is a fighter that is for sure. The latest picture I got to see showed his little arms and legs filling out. I wanted to just get it done and give it to the family, but then if something went wrong would they want that remembering it was for him. Some people are funny that way. I know I have family that had lost a little one at 6 months to crib death and one at birth and they wouldn't for a long time come to the family get together and be around other babies. It has since changed and they have two grandchildren.
Tomorrow is another work day and Friday I have to make a trip to the city for a doctor appointment. It should be more or less routine, but you never know until you get there. Have a wonderful weekend.

WEEKEND RAIN

The rain started Thursday and has continued through the day. I am glad to see it because it has helped my allergies some. I haven't been typing quite as much as usual. Have you ever tried typing when your eyes were watering so much that it gave the appearance of crying when you weren't. It made things a little blurring and hard to read.
It stayed on the cool side, but we managed to escape the hail and severe weather. The lighting made it look like an electrical parade and I shut down several appliances with it sounded so close to the house. We had lighting strike our house several years ago, but it still bothers me to this day at times.
Next weekend is our big Airshow with the Blue Angels, our Apple Blossom Parade with the Clydesdale horses thanks to our Budweiser distributor here in town, they are putting on an Ice Skating show at our ice rink, and I have forgotten what else is going on. It seems like at times they plan everything for the same weekend.
I have several projects that I need to get finished and as quick as I do I will be posting pictures of them. I just need to stay home a little more then I do. My hubby thinks at times we should live in the car. He is home all the time so he wants to go and doesn't seem to understand that there are times that I would just love to stay home.
Have a wonderful weekend. I will try to do a better job about blogging and visiting.

It's Almost Thursday

I don't know where the time has gone this week, but it has really flown by. I guess it is because I haven't had the time to read the blogs and leave as many comments as I normally like to do.
I have had a problem with my allergies the last few days to where I have felt really miserable. They were causing me to have an earache and sore throat from the drainage. The one medication just made me want to sleep and I do mean sleep. I couldn't do that and still be the primary care giver to my hubby that I need to be.
We are trying some new medication, which I don't really know if it will work or not. So far, so good, but I haven't taken enough doses yet. We are monitoring it really close as daily conversations with the doctors office.
Both of my younger two grandson's are taking swimming lessons at the YMCA. It is a heated pool so they can't say the water is to cold and it works better with mommies schedules. They would go every day if you would take them, that is how much they like the water. I just want them to learn to swim because they have friends who have swimming pools that they visit.
I haven't been to see either of the boys because of the allergy problem, but we talked on the phone and that helped. It has really been busy at work and I want to be gone for a long weekend this next month so I really have things I need to get done.
It is way past time that I need to be in bed, but I am not sleepy. That could a side effect of the new medication I hope not. I really don't know why I have such a horrible time of finding medications that I can take at times. My kids tell me I am just weird. Leave it to them to make you feel better.
You all have a wonderful rest of the week and the weekend.

Thankful for the Weekend

I was so thankful to see 4:30 Friday evening arrive. The week was over and I was more then ready. My oldest spent time in the ER being checked out after taking an ambulance ride from the doctor's office. It wasn't his heart for which we are thankful. He was having a problem with his chemical asthma. I am hoping that we can find a good lung doctor, who maybe can shed some light on the conditions of his lungs and more how to handle it. You have to hurry up and wait for doctor appointments, which at times you don't get over night although you wish that you did. The main thing is that he is home and the breathing is improving and he will just have to watch what he does.
Today was a beautiful day. We started off at 40 degrees, but by the afternoon we were up to 63. They are predicting us dropping back down in the 30's. We have been from one extreme to the other that is for sure.
I had a day of running errands. The first thing after breakfast was getting my car serviced. My car has a message system that tells you that you have low tire pressure, change oil soon, door ajar, and things like that. I am glad that it tells me to change oil soon because I don't have to remember what the mileage was when I had it done. I took some embroidery work with me to keep the hands busy while I waited. I have a little bit left and I will be through except for the border. If I am home long enough tomorrow I will get it finished. I won't know until in the morning. I did turn my furnace back on with it going to get in the 30's.
I am hoping to get out to the kids tomorrow so we can see the new pony that they got. Now both boys have ponies. I can see the younger one riding more then the oldest, but maybe it will give the motivation needed we will wait and see.
Our school district is talking about not having the summer school program, which will cause some problems for parents that work. I know that my daughter-in-law checked to see if my oldest could stay with my daughter's mother-in-law as a back up plan. Matt can continue where he is at with the school age children if need to be. They are growing up so very fast and I am not ready to admit that I am getting older.
Everybody enjoy what is left of your weekend. I hope that you have wonderful weather.

My New Look

I am amazed at the new look that Karen has designed for me using the blog banner that I had changing it from two column to three column. She is such an amazing person to work with. I love purple as most of you who read my blog know.
Even in a lot of my embroidery designs, I use different shades of purple. My computer room is also painting in a shade of purple. I didn't change it after my daughter got married. Now you know how much my daughter and I think a like about certain things.
It has been very warm here today in the 80's and suppose to be that way tomorrow with the possibilities of storms in the late afternoon. I will believe that if it really happens because our weather person hasn't done a very good job lately.
Enjoy the rest of the week it is flying.

WEEKEND ALMOST OVER

The weekend is almost gone. The weather was absolutely beautiful for a change. We have been in the 70's all weekend, but they talk about rain coming back to start the week. It is just what we need.
We went to our inside mall today and after spending a lot of money to remodel it. We didn't get the new shops, but did get a food court. We didn't buy anything because you pay an extra cent sales tax. I looked at a blouse, it was pretty, but not $79.00 pretty. I have never spent that kind of money on a blouse for work.
I will go back to the strip mall and go shopping there. It is no where near that expensive. The same dress at Penny's and the Dress Barn were 25.00 difference with the Dress Barn the cheaper of the two. Penny's was 79.00 and the Dress Barn was 54.00. I am looking for a nice pair of black slacks and I don't want the ones that doesn't have a belt. I guess I am just old fashion.
We are going to take a trip this next month if everything goes as planned and I will go to the factory outlet mall while I am gone.
Yesterday was a great day for packages and I will post pictures as soon as I take them. I got the faux cupcakes that I won from LuLu and Franklin from Michelle. I was really so happy that I won.
Well I am headed to read blogs so everybody have a great week.

A Busy Saturday

We spent a lot of time in the car today, with all of the errands I had to run, but the weather was absolutely beautiful. It got up to 78 degrees with a breeze out of the south. The red buds, magnolia's, dogwoods, and all of the early spring flowers are so pretty. I think they are causing me a little problem though because my eyes have been watering today. Maybe because I have allergies and the pollen count is high.
My son bought another pony and this one Matt can ride. He has always wanted to ride the horse now he can. They found one that they were also selling the saddle so mommy and daddy didn't go get that one. We are to go out and they will take us so he can show us the new pony. Matt, my 5 year old is going to be one to try the sports, and it all. He went to a birthday party at the skating rink and he like roller skating. It was fun. They always amaze me.
My youngest didn't want his uncle spending the night because he thought he was going to take his bed. The next morning he got up and checked out the couch for his uncle. He wanted to know where he was at. He didn't think he should go to work. I had got a body perm and I needed a day so it wouldn't set his asthma off.
We are suppose to have wonderful weather this next week and not have any rain, which will really help. We are actually going to get one more worker at work, which will really help. I will get to maybe do my work instead of everything else.
I actually went shopping for mom today, which is a rarity because normally I put me in the background. I had to have a new pair of shoes for work because my others were coming apart. I had only had them for about a couple of years or longer. I will keep them for when I work in the yard. I am debating if I want to try to raise some flowers this year. I think I may pass with all of the irons I have in the fire at the present time.
Well I am off to check and see what my friends are doing. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

STORMY WEATHER

We have really been lucky so far and the storms have gone around us. The hail in the area was so heavy that it made it look like it snowed. I know that we went from 84 degrees when I left work to come home to 57 degrees. It is suppose to be in the 30's in the morning as I get ready to go to work.
Today has really been hective at work with everybody wanting to get material before it started to rain. The wind was so strong, I know I thought I needed some anchors to help hold me down so I wouldn't blow over.
The good news is that I won Franklin, that Michelle at The Raspberry Rabbits was giving away. I had told my daughter and daughter-in-law that I would really like to win him because he was so cute. My daughter had her house all decorated for Easter. She had two big bunnies, Mr and Mrs Bunnie that stood by her fireplace. She has already asked if he would fit in with her decorations. I told her that this one stays at my house. Her mother-in-law really decorates with the Easter Egg tree in the front window, and decorations on the porch.
I am a little late in reading blogs and I will be catching up as soon as I can. I have gone back to working on my baby quilt. The little one came early weighing less then two pounds. He is a fighter. He is already breathing on his own, so the prayers that he and his parents have received really helps. He was a little over three months early, but his mommy had a problem. If she has anymore, she will have to have a procedure, because she was fully dilated without knowing it. They can do so many things now.
Tomorrow is off to get my hair done after work. My hair is really fine and doesn't hold a set very good at all unless you really spray it stiff with hair spray and I can't do that without causing my son to have an asthma attack. I was told with a body perm that the set would stay better without all the spray so I am going to try it and see.
Well tomorrow is another working day so I had better call it a day and head to bed . Enjoy the rest of the week.

Beautiful Easter Weekend

This picture reminded me of my childhood days of growing up on the farm. You had lots of space where you didn't have to worry about your neighbors being really close and maybe didn't like you for some reason.
We always had special holiday family get-togethers, which also included aunts, uncles, and cousins. We would have ball games of one kind or another, which ever we thought would be the most fun. If it was in the winter months, we would go coasting.
My mother would make home made ice cream during the spring, summer, and fall when we had company. Then we would have hot chocolate and cookies when we came in from coasting.
We had all kinds of animals, dogs, cats, pigs, chickens, cows, horses. I can remember my dad farming with a team of horses and going to town in the wagon. We never wanted for anything. you ate what was fixed for whatever meal, and you learned to like a lot of things that was grown in the garden. One of my favorite things is fresh peas and new potatoes in a cream sauce.
The holidays are meant for family to be together, even celebration of birthdays. I want to take this time to wish everybody a HAPPY EASTER WEEKEND . I hope your weekend is fill with sunshine and warm weather. We had such a fast moving storm going through with high winds and heavy rain yesterday, They said that it was just a straight wind, but there were trucks blown off the highway and other storm location.
Enjoy your weekend.
