Beautiful Easter Weekend

This picture reminded me of my childhood days of growing up on the farm. You had lots of space where you didn't have to worry about your neighbors being really close and maybe didn't like you for some reason.
We always had special holiday family get-togethers, which also included aunts, uncles, and cousins. We would have ball games of one kind or another, which ever we thought would be the most fun. If it was in the winter months, we would go coasting.
My mother would make home made ice cream during the spring, summer, and fall when we had company. Then we would have hot chocolate and cookies when we came in from coasting.
We had all kinds of animals, dogs, cats, pigs, chickens, cows, horses. I can remember my dad farming with a team of horses and going to town in the wagon. We never wanted for anything. you ate what was fixed for whatever meal, and you learned to like a lot of things that was grown in the garden. One of my favorite things is fresh peas and new potatoes in a cream sauce.
The holidays are meant for family to be together, even celebration of birthdays. I want to take this time to wish everybody a HAPPY EASTER WEEKEND . I hope your weekend is fill with sunshine and warm weather. We had such a fast moving storm going through with high winds and heavy rain yesterday, They said that it was just a straight wind, but there were trucks blown off the highway and other storm location.
Enjoy your weekend.

Hi Shirley!
Glad your weather has calmed down a bit but be careful when those storms return! Sweet photo. Yep, it if didn't grow or was raised on the farm you didn't have it. Dad had beef cattle, lambs, ducks, rabbits, pigs, chickens...and tons of veggies!
Wishing you and your family a wonderful and Joyous Easter!

Hi, Shirley,
I remember family get togethers, too. And homemade ice cream was always made in the warm months. I loved little new potatoes that my mother made with a yummy cream sauce. Thanks for the stroll down memory lane! Have a blessed Easter! Vicki

Hi Shirley:
Happy Easter, dear one. I read your message and will say prayers for that baby boy...that he grows stronger and healthy. I'll pray for strength for his parents, too.

I'm also a fan of creamed peas. My husband doesn't care for them, so I buy those little cans of peas and make small portions for myself. Thanks for reminding me. Have you ever had "beans on toast"? Another old family favorite. (Use pork n beans). Comfort food from my childhood.

Thanks always for visiting Brynwood. I look forward to a long friendship with you.
Hugs and Easter Blessings,
Donna
