Weekend Coming Up

Are you ready for the weekend? Do you already have plans for your weekend? My plans start with tomorrow meeting with the dietitian. Wish me luck, Hubby's menu is never right. His choices are usually what everybody else gets. After they hand me his menu, I usually ask the cooks what choices does he have then figure it out from there.

They are suppose to be addressing his leg problem. The blisters are back that burst and ooze. The wound care people want them wrapped every time they doctor them. We shall see what that does. I would just like to know what causes it. I get told it is because he is a diabetic. Sometimes I think that I am just getting pacify and they hope I will go away. I know who to ask to get my answers.

One of the nurses is having surgery next week and they are scared she has cancer. I am praying it is not. I have heard that nasty word to much lately at the nursing home. There is one of the aide's 15 year old sister undergoing chemo right now. The bad thing is mom and dad are getting a divorce. I always thought parents are suppose to be in it together, but I guess not.

The picture is of my oldest grandson carrying our state flag. We went to a horse show and they didn't have kids who could do it so he got the honor. He carries the flag boot as he calls it in the truck so he can do it if he gets ask. His dad made three of them that straps on to the stirrup's. Some of them stick the pole inside their boot which I don't think would feel very good.

I have the boys this next couple of weeks. Next week I will be taking my middle grandson to art camp in the afternoon. Then at the end of the week I will have all three. That should be fun, but then my oldest will help me with the younger two.

Saturday I am going to go watch the boys ride and then on Sunday I am going to go to my family reunion. I know that I am going to get to see family that I haven't seen for quite awhile. There is ten of us kids (6 boys and 4 girls). It will be us with our extended families hoping it includes some cousins. I am trying to decide what I am going to take.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Take care

Shirley-Looks like you've got lots of fun things planned! I'm taking a trip out of state-my boy comes home from Afghanistan in a few days, expect to see pictures of my boy! We used to go to races every weekend, so many injuries this year, we are so out of our routine. Your grandson looks handsome with the flag-good thinking that he is always prepared. Enjoy your weekend

You have to show them you mean business when it comes to your husband. I have heard of diabetes causing skin sores, but be sure they are treating them properly by wrapping them up. Ask lots of questions!

You have so much coming up! I think you get around much more than I do. I did errands with my daughter today, it's the only way I can see her on her days off! It's a treat though, I miss her!

XO,
Jane

Well, I hope they can figure out what is going on with your hubby's open sores. I know that there are a lot of diabetics that get sores and it is so hard to get them healed. I hope they can get a handle on it quickly.

Congrats on your grandson carrying the flag- that is quite an honor. Enjoy the weekend show and I certainly hope you have a wonderful time at the reunion. Blessings and love to you, Shirley- xo Diana

You'll laugh, but the first thing that comes to mind when the weekend approaches is "Dump Run!" Our town dump is only open on Saturdays, for 4 hours, so if I have things to dump or recycle, I have to prepare on Friday. Exciting, right? Hohoho :)

Glad your grandson has the flag boot. Riding with a big flagpole stuck into your own boot sounds downright dangerous to me. Heaven forbid the rider comes off for some reason. Good gracious.

A friend of mine year ago had a dreadful time with leg ulcers that wouldn't heal. I hope the wound care folks will take good care of your husband and get the problem fixed soon.

I love the picture of your grandson with the flag. It is so nice that they enjoy riding the horses so much.
My older friend had a similar problem. She is large lady. Her legs swell really bad. Then she has open (blister looking) places on her legs where they ooze. They had her got a wound clinic and they would dress them then wrap then in ace bandages from the ankles past her knees. Then she had to have them elevated. She s still working as a teller in a bank at 82. I am sure that doesn't help. I just can't imagine how this happens. I hope that they can figure out how to stop this. Oh, I think she took antibiotics. (((((HUGS)))))

Shirley honey I do hope you enjoy your weekend. A family reunion sounds wonderful. It is a problem though trying to figure out what to take. lol
Like the pic of your grandson displaying the flag. I know he is proud to be able to do this honor.
Sorry you have to deal with so much and as you know from my previous comments I don't know how you do it but I always have you in my prayers.
I am not looking forward to the weekend because I am day five into some kind of stomach virus and I will spend the weekend mouning and groaning and feeling sorry for myself. haha
Love ya
Maggie

Shirley, Your grandson sits tall in the saddle...it's an honor for him to carry the flag and he shows it. Sorry about all the things going wrong with your husband's diet and leg. I hate to hear of cancers too. It's a wicked disease. Have fun at the reunion...I had 10 siblings myself.:)xoxo,Susie

That's sad about the girl fighting cancer and having to handle the stress of her parents divorcing on top of that. How selfish are her parents! Sad!
Have a wonderful time reconnecting at the family reunion tomorrow.
hugs♥,
Caroline
