Update

The doctor report is good. I don't have shingles or anything contagious. He gave it a big medical name , but in terms that I could understand is an old age brown spot. The doctor didn't want to say old age. I didn't have a problem with him doing it. At least I could understand that term. The reason I am having some problem with it is because of the location. It is located at my waistline and gets irritated at times with my jeans. He told me what I could use on it. I felt like a lot of weight had been lifted from my shoulders finding out that it was nothing serious. My blood pressure was high, but my day had not started off good. My hubby's blood sugar was really low so I had to address that before I went to work, then I find out my boss is in the hospital, then my doctor appointment which left them very very short handed.
Now happier things. Meet my new friend, Mir bluebird. He is what I won from Donna at Brynwood Needleworks giveaway. He is so cute and makes me think of her every time that I look at him. He is sitting close to my sewing. Donna allowed me to use her picture for which I am thankful for.
The fund raising has started. Now my youngest two grandsons are selling popcorn for Scouts. Of course, you can't buy from one if you don't buy from the other. Oh well grandpa likes his snack of popcorn in the evening so we will use it over time.  My oldest will be selling trash bags if it is like last year. Well I need to get my quilt finished if I can this evening I would like to be able to deliver it this Saturday.  Have a great day .

Fall is here

Fall is my favorite time of the year. I would love to be going to Branson this next month, but this year it will have to pass. We will just have to take some drives in our area instead of traveling.
The past weekend was absolutely beautiful. Of course, we had some frost on Sunday morning and it was a little cool at 9 A.M. when the horse show started, but later on it was absolutely beautiful sitting there watching the boys ride.
Matt was having a little bit of a problem with Cleo, she just didn't want to do what he needed her to do. When we first got there, he came over to show me his white shirt and new western jeans. He was so proud of them. I will have to get dad to send me some pictures because my camera wouldn't work. He was the youngest in his group and at first they weren't going to let him ride, but he will be 8 this next month. He had to be 8 before the 31st of December so he qualified. He had fun even though he didn't place.
Jake and Fergie didn't do to bad. He got a 4th, 2nd, and a 1st. He was hoping to qualify for a belt buckle again, but he didn't have enough points. He had gotten his mid term grades, all A's and A-. It doesn't seem like he should be graduating in the Spring from the 8th grade. I remember the day that he was born. Time really flies.
Well it back to the city to the doctor's office tomorrow, but I can't blame hubby. I have a place on my back that I don't know what it is. It could be that my shingles are coming back, but we are going to go and find out. It is in about the same area as the shingles were the last time.It wouldn't be a surprise if that is what it is with all of the stress I have been under here lately. My hubby says it looks gross, whatever that means. I can feel it, but I can't see it.
I have been reading your blogs and trying to leave some comments and I appreciate everyone's comments and prayers right now. I need them in more ways then one. Hope you have a beautiful week. We have been in the 70's and low 80's today.  It is time to call it a day.

Can I Hide

Can I hide? Have you ever wanted just to go someplace where nobody can find you for a little down time? Do you ever want to shut everybody out for a hour or so and have some peace and quiet with no demands?
I  find myself wanting to do just that. I think a lot has to do with frustration with people, who don't really want to take responsibility for fear they will get sued if something goes wrong. I just want some of that special "ME" time that seems to have disappeared of late. We kept our doctor appointment yesterday, but I didn't care for what he told me. We can't do anything for you except maintain you. Well gee, how long are we going to continue that course or do we just put ourselves in gods hand and let what happen, happens. I am not dumb, I know we can't have surgery  because we don't know if he will stop bleeding or not. All I asked was would a blood transfusion bring up the blood counts close to normal. I know there is a risk with them, but I, also, know that he seemed to have more energy when we did get the one.  Anybody want to get on the Merry Go Round with me. I can't say when you can get off or when it will stop. That is how I feel.I will just have to call our primary and see what he can do for us. See if he can get some answers or maybe has them already.
We have had some beautiful weather the last few days. The temperature dropped when the cold front came through, but it makes you think of fall. The kind when you need a sweater of the morning and none in the afternoon.
I am looking forward to the weekend. The boys are suppose to show and it is suppose to be 71 degrees can you asked for anything better.
My project is almost done, not to much more to go. I get to embroidering and I lose all sense of time. My main problem is breaking needles. I have done quite a bit of that lately. Maybe I need to change brands or something. Well it is getting late and I got to work tomorrow. Have a great day.

Family

Today brought home how important family is to us. It is a time to remember what happened just one year ago today. With everything that is going on, it makes you really appreciate what you have. You pray for the people who have lost so much.
We have had two cases of where they have tried to get a child into a vehicle near our schools in the last few days. You can not stressed enough to your child what to do if this happens. We see kids standing at the bus stop and you wonder where the parent is while they were getting ready for school. The short shorts, I don't believe has a place in school. We don't seem to have a dress code or else they don't enforce it.
Angie and Ethan
On to other things. My great niece had her baby a little over 5 weeks early. She and her mother had flew out to California, to go to a bridal shower of one of her friends who had been in her wedding. They were on their way home when her water broke. The baby and momma are doing fine. You can see pictures of my daughter and her son and my daughter-in law with her two sons. They keep us busy. We did get to see Jake and Matt  ride over the weekend. You couldn't have had prettier weather with a nice breeze. Only in the 70's, I can handle that. Everybody had a good time and that is what is important.  The boys give grandma a lot of enjoyment.
Trish, Jake and Matt
They keep grandma and grandpa busy and give me something else to think about besides what is going on at our house. This coming weekend is The Fall Festival in the South side of town. It is full of music, crafts, parade, baby show, food, and car show just to name a few of the things that you can do. They have already send out their paper telling you when everything is taking place, who the vendors are and what they make, what kind of food you can get, and what bands are playing. The first night will have a firework display at the end of the night. It will run for three days. A lot of families plan their vacation around it.
I talked to my son in Louisiana. He is fine, just been very busy with work. Learning that things are done a lot different there then what we do here. It is getting late and tomorrow is another work day. Take care

Sept. 5th

September means it is getting closer to the fall of the year. You already are seeing some color starting in the trees so it really makes you wonder what the mother nature is going to bring. Are we going to have an early winter? Are the old time farmers right that it is going to be a bad one?
I really hope it won't be, but we could sure use some more much needed rain. It is amazing to see the semi's waiting to get unloaded at the plant across the street from where I work. They make ethanol for one thing, plus other products. It is just normally later in the month before all of this happens.
I tried some new embroidery needles and I broke my third one since I got them. They snap right under where you thread them. I don't know if I will ever buy any more or not. What is your favorite needle and does it last for awhile? Normally I just put a curve in them, but not this time.
Meet my grandson's at the zoo. My youngest Ethan is loving on the giraffe, who says he is getting one sent to him by ups. A lot of of imagination. The smallest is my Matt, who is not afraid to do anything. He is joining 4-h this week and is excited. He will belong to the same one as big brother. The tallest is Jacob, who likes to be called Jake now that he is officially a teenager. They had a lot of fun with their moms at the Omaha zoo. They have always talked about going and now they have done it and would go back. You need to be able to spend a lot of time there to see it all.
Matt and Jake will be showing horses this weekend if the weather holds. It is one of the shows that got rained out. It isn't suppose to be that hot so we will go if we can. You never really want to plan to far in advance because they can change in a quick hurry.

My youngest grandson's other grandparents always spends two weeks at the state fair. They take their camper down early so they  can get their favorite spot. He always gets to go with them. After the fair starts him and his momma goes down to the fair. This year he got to be Ronald Mc Donald's helper. He had so much fun. His momma went to the 38 Special concert with her best friend from high school while they were there. You sure see a difference in him since he is in school. He talks a lot more. They are doing a fund raiser already and he told me if I had any questions, just ask him because he could answer.
We enjoy our boys so much and those hugs are really special. Hope you all are having a good week.I tried to stay very busy so I don't dwell on hubby's problems. We just take it one day at a time. Take care..

Sunday, September 2, 2012

The weekend is going so fast . Mine started a little earlier  Friday afternoon with hubby giving me a scare. We have managed to stay out of the hospital which I am thankful for. We got the report on his liver test if you want to call it that. It said that he was stable for all that he has wrong with him. Gee! can't they tell you better then that. I still have a lot of unanswered questions. I hate being told well he is stable. I want to know so I know what I have to do to take care of him.
We are doing the best we can under the circumstances. I did go Saturday in the rain to get my mammogram done. I don't really like them because I don't like being squished. They always hurt for a while afterwards. I just wish there was another way of doing it.
Our son called tonight and he had just got his electricity back on. He was going to try to cool his apartment down. It said 90 when he turned the a/c on, but he will do it gradual. He would check in with some one every day so that we knew he was o.k..
I have been embroidering today to keep my mind on other things right now. because I would just worry and if I try to talk with the doctors office I would only get the doctor on call. I will sit tight until Tuesday . There is always the emergency room if I think it warrants it.
This going to be my next project for a new arrival due in January. They will have a baby shower around Thanksgiving because family will be home. They are even having Christmas early this year. The family is scattered in several different directions and it is hard for everybody to get home.
I hope they will like it. It will work for both a boy or girl so I have that covered.
We haven't done much this weekend except for yesterday. I hope you all are enjoying your weekend and if you are traveling be careful on the roads because people do weird things. I know they can't drive on wet roads in our area. Have a wonderful day tomorrow. Take care.

This, that, and etc

I  thought I would bring you up to date at my house. It is very stressful at the moment. We had the liver test ran yesterday, but we have to wait for the results. Why can't they give them to you that  day. The doctor was to receive them today and supposedly I am to have information before the end of the week. I am not a patient person at times which my son loves to remind me that I have to patience. I just want answers. They did let me watch the ultrasound which was very interesting. They couldn't answer my questions so I made a list when I got home.
Our son is bunker down  in his apartment in New Orleans. I called him this morning. He said that he is o.k., lost his electricity at 11:30 last night. He said that he had all of the necessities, food and etc. It was a very short conversation, but I just wanted to hear his voice. People that he works with told him that it was not going to be as bad as Katrina. They have lived there all of their life. You didn't really know which direction you wanted to go to get out of it anyway with them closing some of the major highways. He always had emergency kits in the car and at home. His motto was to be prepared.  He has a second story apartment. Can you imagine people at first swimming in the surf? I don't understand how they could do something like that with the way it was storming..
Two more days then I am off for a three day weekend. I really don't know where this month has gone, but it sure has flown. I want to spend some time at home doing absolutely nothing other then maybe some embroidering or reading. I will just have to wait and see.
I know I am getting my mammogram done Saturday morning. Something I get to do without taking time off from work. I don't have anymore vacation time, and it is the pits when you have to use them for medical. I just want to keep him going until at least October 2013 because we will have been married 50 years.
This year has had more doctor visits and hospital stays then we had for a while. I still say prayers help. Prayers go out to those who are in need, whether it is due to Isaacs, sickness, or losing a love one you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Have a great rest of the week and Labor day weekend.

Hurricane

Have you ever felt helpless  and can't really do anything about it except keep saying prayers that everything will be all right.
We live in the middle of the United States, but the hurricane is causing me to worry. I feel for my friends and their families that are being affected, but we are, also, our son works in New Orleans area.  His e-mail said yes mom, I am watching out for Ike, Emergency kit is ready  and  he is ready to go if that is what he has to do. I am praying that all they get is some rain, but who knows what is going to happen. It reminds me of when he was in the first gulf war. You didn't know where or what was really going on. You just watch television and try to learn as much as possible.
We had rain yesterday evening and again this morning. It was a nice and gentle rain, but I don't think we really got that much. Although if you were out, you definitely got wet. The horse show was cancelled and rescheduled for this next month. Little brother will belong to the 4-H Club then and they think maybe he will get to ride. I hope mom can find a small enough white shirt. They have a mandatory dress code of white shirts, western jeans, cowboy hat or helmet with no exceptions.
We hadn't made the drive yet to go watch so we just came home after breakfast. Hubby took a long nap and I worked on my lap quilt that I need to get done. I put in a wrong color and had to cut it out so I decided it was time to take a break.
I just wish Tuesday was over with. We have to be at the hospital at about 9 for liver tests. I don't know exactly what that is going to entail. I just know they are trying to pin point what is causing the problem we are having now. His blood sugars have been all over the board, blood counts out of whack. I just want to know more so I know how to deal with it. Every day is a learning experience.
Enough chit chat.
I hope you all have a wonderful week. Take care and I am off to see what you all are doing.

Time Flying

Where has this month gone?  It is almost over and it seems like it just got started.  I know that I haven't got accomplished what I wanted done. Partially been to hot, to many doctor visits , and they aren't over yet. We go Tuesday for more test. I don't know if they will really tell us anything or not. I just keep praying for a miracle, but it is wishful thinking on my part.
My birthday weekend was enjoyable and ate far to much. I want to thank those of you who sent me birthday wishes. It meant a great deal to me. I think I will start deducting years instead of getting older. I know that it makes you appreciate more the little things. You don't have to receive presents. I just want family together because you don't know what tomorrow will bring.
I had cake and ice cream. I have found a brand that I can have some without it causing me a problem.
I haven't been able to visit as often as I would like since I am working on a couple of commission jobs.
I have found a new way to fill in my flowers when the pattern didn't stamp good. I do the outline first. It worked that is the main thing.
Matt with his dad
Doesn't he look just like he is full of mischief? You don't get him to sit still to often. Usually he goes full steam ahead.
School has officially started for all of the boys. I think they were all ready to go back . I know the younger two was, but my oldest, I don't know. I know they catch the bus at 20 minutes to 7.  I haven't even left the house yet for work.
Do you have plans for the weekend? I am hoping it is nice because one of the horse shows that got cancelled because of the heat is suppose to be held on Sunday. I would like to be able to go watch the boys, but it depends on the weather.  Plus hubby isn't walking the best in the world right at the moment so we will probably use the wheelchair. You never know when things are going to go out of kilter with  him.  Today it was 94 degrees and he was wearing a sweater saying he was cold. His hands were like ice cubes. That tells me the blood count is probably dropping. I will try to get a hold the hematologist again tomorrow to see if we can move his appointment up instead of waiting until the 17th of September. I need to know how to deal with it. Always a learning experience. It is getting late.
Have a great day and I love comments. Hope to hear from you.

Excitement

The weather is making you think fall is just around the corner and we are suppose get down to 50 degrees tonight. Weird
We had some excitement today at work. The trash truck caught fire. He had dumped our dumpsters and was compacting it. They heard what sounded like an small explosion and the smoke started rolling big time out of the truck. I looked out my window of my office to see the shop area being filled with smoke. I went to check it out and there was the truck on fire. They used our fire extinguishers and grabbed the hose that we have. They, also called the fire department because we didn't have enough to put it out and we had no idea what was in the trash truck. We were lucky that no one got hurt and they got it so that they could take it to the dump. Hopefully no other problems occurred when they got there.
I didn't know the guys that I work with could move so fast, but they sure did.
School has officially started for the kids so you have buses to deal with, I know that I will have to change the time I leave the house to leave me enough time to deal with the buses and still get to work on time.
Trails West starts tomorrow and they are predicting rain. We don't go because it is not wheel chair friendly. I didn't care for the entertainment this year. On Saturday night, it was Uncle Kracker. It is a three day festival that they have this time every year. You have entertainment, crafts, and food.
Do you think I can celebrate my birthday three days? It is actually Sunday, but we are having hamburgers cooked on the grill tomorrow for lunch at work. We use to cook lunch on the grill a lot during the summer, but we haven't done that for quite a while. I thought it would be good for a change.
What we will do over the weekend remains to be seen.
I really appreciate my followers and those of you who leave me such wonderful comments. They mean the world to me right now with everything going on in my life. I love hearing from you. Have a great weekend.

It's cooler

Yesterday couldn't have been better weather wise. It was in the 70's perfect for a day on the road. We had our doctor appointments. I thought my allergies were giving me fits, but come to find out. I have a bad sinus infection. I got put on antibiotics for ten days. I was told it would take at least 3 days before I felt better. I just felt miserable.
We didn't really learn anything new with hubby. They did more lab work and they are waiting for the results of it. I just know when it is triple digit ,  he has a sweater on and says he is cold. You feel his hands and they are as though you put them in the deep freeze. I keep saying there is something going on that they aren't looking at and I keep getting told it is due to his liver, but to be quite honest, I don't think they really know the extinct of his problems.
School starts Thursday in town and the 20th of August for my older two grandsons. Two had open house tonight and the other one will tomorrow. I know my youngest is ready to go back to school to see his friends. .
My grandsons and their  moms went to the Omaha  zoo last week. They had talked about it for quite a while,  Their mom's both had the week off so it was a good time to go. I am hoping for pictures, but I haven't seen them as of yet.
I have a baby quilt to do after I get done with the one that I am working on. When you put in a wrong color and have to cut it out, then it is time to stop for the evening. I really need to go to bed . Enough of my chit chat. Have a wonderful day.

This, that and a little other

I am so ready for the weekend so I can sleep late and catch up on some rest.  Back to Back trips to the city to see Doctors is exhausting with having to find a new way to go. We made it, but I didn't go the same way twice. I keep missing a turn when I get at the end of the bridge. I don't think I could drive it every day to work. I think that is a true sign of getting older.
The cataract on my right eye is not ready to be remove and I am seeing 20/20 with my glasses I got in April so my surgery is postponed, which makes me happy with the way things are with my other half.  He will not remove just one, he wants to do them a month apart.
We went to the liver doctor yesterday. They are going to run some test to see if the blood clot is still there and just what condition the liver is in at the present time. We have doctor appointment on Monday with our primary to talk about the next course of action and what is going on right now.  He fell this evening  in the kitchen. We got him up, but  it was not easy. I will definitely tell it tomorrow.  He is getting to the point where the problems are not fixable, so it means trying to maintain him. How remains to be discussed.  I know I have friends that have problems worse then mine.  We pray for each other that things will improve.
The two little ones in the previous post were my great niece and nephew. She is ready to ride again. She wants to know where they are going to ride next. If her grandpa could find a well broke horse, he would have one for them. Horses are hard to find as well behaved as Cleo and Fergie. The kids have been really lucky in that respect.
School is starting this next week. Where did the summer go? We did have a storm last night with the high wind, hail and rain. We had some power outage and trees down, but at least we got down to the 80's. It felt so good when I walked out the door to come home from work.  Enough of this and that You all have a great weekend.

Fun Weekend

You couldn't have had a prettier weekend. The evening was wonderful for watching the horse show. They had received some rain early Saturday morning so the arena was in good shape and you didn't have to worry about the dust. We set in the car with the windows down and couldn't have asked for a better location with a nice breeze all evening long. Ideal weather.
My brother and sister-in-law brought their grandchildren up to the horseshow and they got to ride in the lead in class. They thought that was awesome. Their mommy took lots of pictures and the ones you will see is what she took during the evening.
Emma learning about Sister
Jake showing Colin how to hold his reins
Miss Emma with her new shirt and hat
Miss Emma will be starting kindergarten this fall and Colin will be in the first grade. She was going to ride on Cleo, but she was just to big of a horse. Sister was just the right size for her according to her.   Pat lead Sister with Emma and Jake lead Fregie with Colin.  Jake was giving Colin a lesson on holding the reins. He was wearing his white shirt and he looks so grown up. I am not ready for him to be in the 8th grade this fall.  They had fun and the kids were thrilled that they got to ride the horses. She thought she was really big. You can tell her hair is a little on the red side from her picture and she did inherit her mommy and grandma's curly hair. I have more pictures, but I wanted to tell you about the reunion.
Five of my brothers and one sister was there. We took a picture of all of us together. We never know what the next year will bring with the health issues that my older two brothers have. We had extended family there as well. If it was a new face, you just asked who they were and who did they belong to. There was a nice turnout, but we were missing some to. A good time was held by all and that is the main thing. Of course, you always eat to much by time you sample this and that with the desserts that you need to try to.
We keep adding to the family. Four of my great nieces are expecting so we will be having some additions. I know there is well over 100 of us, but I don't know the actual count. The last time all of the brothers and sisters were together was my parents 50th wedding anniversary a long time ago.
Hope you all have a good week.

This and That

The water fall  is another picture my niece took while on vacation in the state of Washington.  With all of the hot weather we have been having it makes you wish, you had one close to home that you could stand under without drowning to enjoy the cool water.
We had one day of 80's then right back to the triple digit mark. We are suppose to stay that way for the next three days.
I did find me a couple pair of shorts to wear to work. I don't usually wear them, but with our ac not working the best in the world, you need all of the help you can get.
This next weekend will be a busy weekend for us. We are planning on at the present time going to watch the boys ride.  It depended on how well the riding lessons went whether my middle grandson gets to do games or not.  He doesn't really care if he wins or not he just likes to try.  They will show Western Pleasure in the evening.
Sunday is the big day for our family reunion. I still have to decide what I am going to take.  I am looking forward to seeing my brothers and sisters.  It will be the only time we get to see some of them and of course, there is always new ones to meet for the first time.  You never know who you will see. Our oldest would love to fly home, but just to busy right now. Working 6 to 7 days a week. They seem to be very busy which is good thing. He has a job which is the most important.
We will be celebrating birthdays in August three weeks in a roll. Our youngest grandson will turn 7 on the 7th, our daughters is the 13th and mine is the 19th.  School starts the 16th for part of them. It doesn't seem like it should be that close already. They are starting so much earlier this year don't know why.
I probably will be quiet tomorrow without a voice.  My voice is really scratchy right now. I assume it is the allergies acting up, but then it was raining a little when I went to work. I got a little damp and working in ac while you are drying out might not have helped.
Hope you all have a wonderful week.

A little Rain

We got very little rain last night. We didn't get the wind damage that some people did. We can always hope for more rain. We did drop down out of the triple digits. We saw some corn fields that is drying up to where the stalks look like it is time to pick it.
My niece is in Washington State on vacation and the picture is one that she took at Lake Cushman.  I have seen her with a jacket on in a couple of her pictures. I just wish she would bring some of the cool weather back with her.
The Kansas City Chiefs training camp starts tomorrow at our local college. They think we are really going to have a lot of people here since we don't have to deal with flood waters this year. They didn't have a lock out so they think it will be much better. They have some covered areas to make it cooler and they are trying to make it better for the fans so they will come watch. It is one  thing that I haven't gone to because they aren't that wheel chair friendly in my estimation.
All the guys at work talk about is going and seeing the cheerleaders. I wonder why as if I didn't  know.
Do you have plans for the weekend? Mine will be determined by how hot it is. I need to go and find me a couple pair of shorts if it is going to stay really hot.  Finding the length I want will probably be my problem. I don't want them to short, but rather right above the knee I think at my age.  The first Sunday in August will be our family reunion. It will be fun seeing some of my brothers and sisters. How many will be there? We never know. I would like to know how many there are now with all of our extended families. There is ten of kids.  At one time we were well over a 125 and that was several years ago. We will be in the air conditioning. There is just to many that have health issues.
Well I hope you all have a good FRIDAY. I am looking forward to the weekend and sleeping a little late if possible. Take care and stay cool.

Praying for Rain

I have not prayed for rain for a long time, but the way everything is drying up we need it bad just like a lot of other people. We had another triple digit day with the temperature at 105 when I headed home from work. I felt sorry for the ones that was waiting on the bus for their transportation. We took a ride Saturday even though it was hot. I wanted to go to Joanne's in Kansas City. They had their craft lites on sale and I had a 50% off coupon which really helped. I, also, like their customer service. They helped me get it to the car and really was great in that respect. Looking at the crops and some of the trees you would think it is fall instead of being July. Some of the farmers are starting to cut their corn for silage to salvage something from it. Even baling their pasture grass preparing for a bad winter who knows. I know the price of hay has sure jumped. It is horrible. I know walking across my yard you could hear the grass crunch under my feet. Last year we had the flood and now this. It really makes you wonder about what lies ahead for the rest of the year.
They cancelled the outdoor activities that were schedule because it was just to hot.  We have a chance for some rain Wednesday and Thursday, but I am not counting on it.
We have been staying pretty much at home which I don't have a problem with under the circumstances.
They have opened some shelters for people who don't have air-condition to help them, but there are still people who won't go even if someone picked them up and took them.
I hope all of you are staying as cool as possible. I know talking with my son in Louisiana, he said they had some rain, but the humidity was a lot different then here, but he was doing o.k.. I think he would tell mom that even if he wasn't so that I won't worry as much. I still do, that is just my nature.
Well it is time to go bed before it gets to late. I have to work tomorrow. Take care and stay cool.

It's The Weekend

The weekend plans are changed. A lot of outside activities have been cancelled because of the heat in our area. I got to come home a little earlier. They were working on an a/c unit on the roof across the street and our lights went out. No electricity, we can't do anything really. It was almost time to come home anyway.
The horse show was cancelled which didn't really upset me because I knew we wouldn't be able to go after the last time of trying.
We are still in a heat advisory until next Wednesday. You just drink a lot of fluids and stay hydrated.  We have the week free of doctor appointments at the moment.
We actually stayed home tonight. The last couple of nights hubby has had a problem after we have gone to dinner. We don't know if it is heat related or what. Talked to the doctor's office and got told just make him drink fluids and watch that it doesn't come back. I keep wondering if it was related to the big dose of iron that he got on Monday with the steroids. I know that it sent his blood sugar off the chart and we have been working to get it back down. He even wanted to stay home tonight which I didn't have a problem with at all.
Wasn't the tragedy in Aurora, Colorado something else? What is wrong with people to take so many innocent lives? Booby trapped his apartment which could have killed a lot more people. He has to be smart to be accepted in medical school, but I just don't understand.  It was only 11 miles from where the Columbine shooting occurred several years ago.
You pray each day that God will keep you safe because you sure don't know anymore. We had a car jacking at the shopping area close here to the house. I just know I am more observant of my surroundings. You all have a good weekend and try to stay cool. I will be popping in and out as I am working on a commission project at the moment. Take care.

Horrible Heat

My car had 118 degrees when I started home from work tonight. They are saying we are going to be in the triple digits for several days yet. I don't know about you, but it makes me exhausted. Of course with my office upstairs air-condition, you go out into the heat and back in a/c. You have no choice with the bathroom being downstairs. Plus having to take care of things downstairs. I have been trying to drink more water so that I don't get sick.

They have already cancelled the horse show for the weekend which I am glad. They are going to reschedule it for cooler weather. Anybody have a guess as to when that will be.

I thought I had lost the lens to my glasses, but I found it for which I was very thankful. I got it put back in. I did have a spare, but they were from two years ago. I was glad I stopped on my way home instead of during the day as long as I was there. She told me to check them every so often to make sure the screws was tight. How do you do that when you can't see without your glasses on. That should really be fun.

That is enough of my rambling really about nothing, but at least you know we are still here. Take care and try to stay cool.

Why

Why can't a doctor answer your question instead of referring you to another doctor. It feels like you are on a merry-go-around. At least they gave him another iron infusion. I know this one is working because his blood sugar reads high on the meter. It will take work to get it back down, but we will get it accomplished.
We didn't get to watch our boys over the weekend. It just got to hot and the judge they had took forever to judge a class. I got a report . Little brother got 2-first and brother got a 5th, 4th and 2nd. T he fifth was in with senior riders and he was the youngest one out there. It makes him feel good to know that he can complete with all ages.
I was sitting in dad's new chair the boys got him for father's day that has a roof that protects you somewhat from the sun. I knew when Matt was there because my roof would disappear and he would giggle. I wish we could have stayed longer, but just absolutely no way. Saturday wasn't a good day because I lost a lens out of my glasses and I don't have a clue as to where or when. I didn't really notice it because it was the lens on my eye that is going to have the cataract remove. It blurs part time so I just assume that only to discover that the lens was gone. The screw had come out. I will find out tomorrow what will be done about that. I didn't get home in time today.
We left the house at 6:30 A,M.  and got home tonight at 6:30 P.M.. We did stop for supper on the way home. It was a hot day to be in the city. You really noticed it when you came out to come home. They keep their treatment room so cold.
Oh! yes, have any of you got a kit that the pattern is printed so light that  you can hardly see it? Is there a light that will help to bring it out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I would say just get a new kit, but the quilt belongs to someone else and I am just trying to do the embroidery work.
It has been a long day so I will say goodnight. Have a great day.

TGIF

Thank Goodness Its Friday

Have you ever had a day that you couldn't wait for it to end? The faster you tried to go the worse it got. That was today. I had so many things I wanted to get done knowing that I was going to be gone on Monday for the day, but I guess it will be there on Tuesday.  It is not going to go away that is for sure.
We had a shower last night which helped cool it down a little. I hope the weather man is wrong about tomorrow because they say we are going to have hot weather. I guess if we can't go watch the boys ride then I will work on a commission lap quilt.  I just finished a special order that is leaving tomorrow for North Carolina. I learned a lesson though. Have you ever tried to change colors after you have washed it? I did it, but I don't think I will ever do it again. I had to free hand the  word design back on the tea towel. That is fun to do, but taking a seam ripper to get out what I had embroidered was the worse part. As the saying goes, I don't plan on anybody having a problem with my work.
Isn't he the cutest hat retriever that you have ever seen? He was having a blast going to get the kid's hats when they would blow off . The hat that he has in his hand is my grandson's. They finally got told they could go without their hats. He didn't mind chasing them. As soon as they told him he could go, He would run as fast as his little legs would go.
I haven't heard whether his mom found him a white shirt or not. They have to wear white shirts for the first three classes in an up coming 4-H  event. The only thing white shows dirt really fast. Weather permitting we are going to go watch both boys ride tomorrow. We haven't gone the last couple of times  because of the heat. When they don't have shade and there is no way I can park the car where we can watch from it and run the ac. We just stay home and they take a lot of pictures.
We are back on the road on Monday to the doctors. The blood work today showed that his blood count has improved, but still not much energy. The color is a little better so we just take every day we get and we are thankful for all of you who say prayers for us. I am a firm believer that is why he is still here.
Hope all of you have  a wonderful weekend and stay cool.
