ARE WE SURE?

Are we sure that it is August? I woke up this morning to 54 degrees. I will take it, but then what is our fall really going to be like. The sun is shining today. Thursday will be the last day of the Chief's training camp in town. My youngest grandson got to go to their preseason game on his birthday. He was in the his height of glory. It was awesome he told me. It doesn't seem like he should be 9 starting the third grade this year. They just grow up to fast.
This week has started off a little different. I spent yesterday at home embroidering. Today I have a couple of errands to run and then off to the nursing home as the doctor is suppose to be there today. It always irritates me that they can make decisions by just reading the charts. He will be going down to the eye doctors this next month. He was my wake up call. If I don't have anything special to do, I stay up to late and then sleep late. Not a good habit to get into I know.
Our Trails West starts this weekend so  it will probably turned hot and we could even have some rain. That is the way that it normally does. I know that it is very expensive if you want to be a vendor. At least they have done away with tickets for the food vendors. That was such a pain because you never knew how many you needed. One day if you go between ll A.M. and 2 P.M. you get in free otherwise it cost 8.00 in advance and 10.00 at the gate. I think it keeps some people away that might go elsewise.
School starts this next week. I will have a Sophomore, 4th grade, and a third grader. It doesn't seem like they should be that old. Today, Matt goes to the ear doctor to see what they are going to do about the hearing lost. They say the dizziness and hearing lost aren't related. I just know that neither slow him down much. He has several trips to see the physical therapist. I don't think I am using the right word for exactly what she does, but he says that she is awesome. It is all that matters because if they like them they will do for them.
I am going out to their house tomorrow and Thursday to be with the boys before they go back to school. I won't know what to do with myself while they are in school. Haha. I don't think I will spend every day at the nursing home because then he expects it. I need some "me" time every so often. Then I have my doctor appointment the last week of the month. It is just follow up nothing wrong, just making sure the medicine is doing what it is suppose to do. I had my eye doctor visit and they are doing nicely. I don't have to go back for a year. He gave me some new eye drops to try. They are seeming to do a better job.
Next two weekends are the horse shows that got rained out so I will go watch them ride. I will deliver a custom order on Saturday to a lady who's daughter will be riding so I will probably watch for a while, but if it is hot and they aren't riding then I probably won't stay that long. I know they will show on Sunday because that is our show.
We will have cowboy church before they start on Sunday. Then their will be breakfast items they can get from the cook shack. It will be a fun time.
My lady from Springfield liked my work and bought 3. She was up to visit with her friends that she went to school with. It is their 50th class reunion. I don't want to think about how many years we have been out, but more then that.
To all of those who need special prayers and you know who you are just know that you are included on my list. Especially those suffering from that nasty word Cancer.  Well I need to get to going to run my errands so you all have a wonderful day and take care.

Family

Family is very important in one's life because you never know what will happen. We had my family reunion over the weekend. There were eight out of ten brothers and sisters with our extended families there. You think that you have problems, but there is always someone, who has something worse that I feel thankful that hubby doesn't have. My brothers and sisters range from 80's to my youngest sister being 60 so you know none of us are spring chickens.
I think that I can deal with most anything excepting Dementia, which my one brother has. He still driving his car and I think he needs his keys taken away. They say he doesn't go far, but he could get turned around and you would never know where he would go. I don't think I could handle that at home. I think it would put to much stress on me.
The youngest of the extended family was 11 months, but it was a very enjoyable afternoon. There is two weddings in the near future. One in October and I am not sure about the other one. The one in October there is three sets of families with that want to invite everybody. My niece said only if they want to pay for it. It is their only daughter. I am making a wedding present, but I have no idea if I will be invited or not where do you stop. Do you invite just family or what? I will just wait and see if the invitation comes in the mail. The other one is flying to Jamaica to get married and they will have a reception for them later.
What is with kids getting married outside of the US. Is it that much cheaper? Have we priced ourselves to high anymore? Is that why kids are just living together instead of getting married?
We had lots of food and probably ate to much. If you go away hungry then it is no ones fault but your own.  My oldest grandson was happy he was going to drive home. I went with my daughter and my youngest grandson. He wanted to meet his family. Lots of visiting, just not enough hours, but we have already reserved the same spot for next year.
Well I am off to see hubby this afternoon. We may have some storms later on. Just have to wait and see. Take care.

JULY ALMOST GONE

Good Morning, It is starting off to be a cool morning for us. It makes you think of fall instead of still summer. Can any one tell me where July has gone. It seems as though it has flown by in a quick hurry. The kids are about two weeks away from starting school. It doesn't seem like I should have a grandson a Sophomore in high school this year. He was my big helper yesterday. He got my yard mowed and then he took care of changing light bulbs and etc that I needed done in the house. He went with me to the nursing home to check on hubby. He visited with hubby while I took care of some issues. They would love it to still be summer vacation awhile longer. The hardest will be getting them to go to bed so they can be up early to catch the bus. The one new school here in town that is suppose to be finished  is questionable whether it will be done by the time school starts. They claim that it will.
Finally they are changing one of hubby's meds, they kept giving him one by increasing the dosage which was making him sick to say nothing about what it did to his blood sugar. It has been a struggle, but I finally managed to get it done. I point blank said I want it to happen. It was not right to keep giving him a medication that made him sick plus wasn't accomplishing what they wanted anyway. Just have to keep after them.
Looking forward to the weekend, it is family reunion time. It will be interesting in looking forward to see how many of my brothers and sisters will be there with our extended family. The older ones are in their 80's and some have health issues. I know all of my kids excepting one will be there. He is still working in Texas. He just travels wherever, he doesn't care as long as he is working.
The chiefs training camp is still going on in town and will for a few more days. The first preseason game is on my youngest grandsons Birthday. He isn't going to play fall baseball. Other kids on his team want to play football this fall. That is one sport that mom says no he isn't playing. They would think that he is older then he is because of his size. He is going to go back to swimming lessons I think. She wants him to be able to swim good.

We won't have a horse show until the weekend of the 17-18 of August. There isn't a lot of events for the novice level and it is not worth spending all day for only 4 events scattered through out the day. Then they have been busy taking care of other things. They are going to Worlds of Fun which the boys are looking forward to doing. I remember a couple of times that I went. They talked me into riding the medium size roller coaster. Needless to say I turned every shade of green possible and just watch them ride the rides for the rest of the day. Then I went with my kids and some of their friends. They talked me into going on a ride promising me that I wouldn't get wet. Right, they made sure that I was soaked.
I have some errands to run today so, I better get started. I need to check and see how things are going at the nursing home also. You all have a good day and I will be visiting as I can. I do really appreciate you all stopping by my blog. Take care.

Cool Air come Back

Can all of our hot weather be because the Chief's training camp came to town? There is no guarantee that they will be back with this is the last year of their contract. They are talking about having their own facility. At the utmost, they only have to renew it for a year.  Most of the things that you can go watch are of the morning. They did have family day this last Saturday, but when I think of what they charged. I know that we have a lot of travelers here in our city.
I have been home today. They brought my mower back this afternoon so now I don't have to rely on someone else for the use of their mower. I just have to pickup my grandson and bring him to my house. He can use it. He will have to get use to it because theirs is a zero turn and mine is not. I am just glad to finally have it home. I can even use it myself.
I got the picture of my grandson showing off his trophy. It is a better picture then the one that I took and he couldn't be prouder. They have taken a few weekends off from showing horses. Partially because of heat and partially because of the shows being rained out. The way it is going they may be showing in October. The next one coming up is the 2nd of August. I don't think they are going. It has been taken over by another organization and is just not the same as it use to be.
I thought I would show you one of my latest tea towels. I have finished three that went to new homes and I have another one that I am going to make into a small table runner. The border on the tea towel will really work for what she wants.
I have spent several days at the nursing home. It gets to be so frustrating at times. Sometimes I think they are just giving me lip service, I don't go away. I can be like a bad penny, but I don't like to do that. It doesn't make me feel good. I am not that kind of a person. I just want them to listen to what I am telling them.
I hope you all are managing the heat that we are having. I thought maybe we would get a little rain yesterday, but we only had a few sprinkles nothing to amount to anything. I was hoping for some more in the 70's and low 80's. If you have to be out in the heat, please be careful.
Vehicles can get terribly hot when they sit in the sun. I found that out when I got a set of keys out of the compartment in car to open the garage. It was hot enough you could almost burn your hand. I knew it got hot, but that was really hot. I wonder if I could fry eggs on the concrete.
Enough rambling and I hope you all have a good week. Take care and stay cool.

Heat is Here

Summer has arrived with the hot humid weather. It is suppose to cool off a little, but it remains to be seen.
I wonder if it has anything to do with the Kansas Chief's being in town for training camp at our college. I am thankful that the two week Driver's Training course got over before they arrived. The traffic is heavier and you see more out of state license plates.
The sunset was taken at our horse arena the other evening. School is soon going to be approaching and I don't know where the time has gone. I have spent a few days at the nursing home and have a family care plan meeting this week. That will be interesting to see what they have to offer.
Sunday evening I went to my son's for dinner. We were celebrating my dil's birthday and paying me for being a chauffeur for their oldest. I got to participate in my grandson's exercises. When they rotate his head to the left and then have him sit up. He is a little dizzy. He has learned that peppermint helps control being sick to his stomach because of the dizziness. They have a series of exercises that they start for a minute and will gradually being adding more time as they go. My son cooked on the grill for his wife's birthday, we had barbeque's ribs, potatoes, sweet potatoes, onion, green pepper and some other veggies cooked on the grill, and corn. For dessert it was a chocolate fleck gluten free cake. It was yummy. He likes to cook on the grill while there was coals he cooked some other things so that all they would have to do is warm them up for their evening meal this week. My dil told my oldest grandson what was off limits for him to eat in the fridge as it was for their supper this week.
The fingers have been very busy with embroidering. I sent one to Valida, Ga. I have just got done a couple more. I was showing them off and they won't be going to my etsy shop. Both are sold plus I will have some more to make just don't know how many yet. I will take a pictures so you can see them. They are on the dryer rack tonight.
I have been doing some poppin in and out visiting as I can, never enough hours, but I have enjoyed sleeping a little late of a morning. I still get my wake up phone calls to check and make sure mom is alright. My son is still working in Texas. I don't know how long that is going to last, but at least he is working. He doesn't like sitting around the apartment with nothing to do.
Well I better call it a night, but I wanted you to know I am o.k. just a little busy and like being that way. It gives me less time to think about hubby knowing there is little that I can do about the situation. It is frustrating, but then that is life. Take care. Try to stay cool.

Quiet Weekend

A beautiful start of the day with the clouds slowly disappearing and the sun shine starting to be brighter. It is a nice 72 degrees at the present time and I hope it stays that way.
Last day at driver's training class for my oldest grandson. He has been driving with both his parents, but they want him to have more experience before they give their permission to drive my car.  I got to sleep late this morning because his dad had the day off so he took him before he started his errands today.
It will be a quiet weekend with the  boys not showing their horses. They could have gone to one, but they didn't have that many classes for them it wasn't worth the haul. It is momma 's birthday this Sunday so they decided to celebrate it instead. I don't know what they have planned for her other then they are going fishing. It is her weekend to do whatever she wants to give her a break from the norm.
Do you ever wonder just what normal is anymore? Will all of the turmoil continue to get worse all over the world?
Matt has started his exercises at home that seem to be helping with the dizziness. He can set still longer at a time and doesn't seem to be going 90 miles a hour.  Their next doctor appointment will be with the ear, nose, and throat specialist to decide what they are going to do for his hearing lost. We are so thankful for Children's Mercy doctors to take care of all of our little ones who need something special.
I have been busy embroidering to keep me from thinking about what is going on at the nursing home. I know I will have to address issues when I go there today. His blood sugar is so all over the board from high to low. He says he just doesn't feel good. I sometime wonder if that is just to put a quilt trip on me because I haven't been there for a couple of days. I just know when I ask him if he told them, he says it won't do any good. It just makes me frustrated.
I am going to enjoy sleeping in the next couple of days and doing some of the things that I want to do. I will go to the nursing home to try to figure out just what is going on, but other then that I am doing whatever I feel like today.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I know it will be warming up, but I have sure enjoyed the cooler weather. Take care.

Busy Weekend

The start of Saturday morning with the grand entry. My oldest grandson Jake carrying our flag to start the show. It was hot and humid, but we survive the day. I somehow sunburned the end of my nose. I don't really know how I did it because I had a hat on. I have been taking him to the college for his driver's training classes.I took him to get his permit so that he can drive with a license driver. He got to chauffeur dad home from the show and mom a couple of times.
Matt had a wonderful afternoon. Fergie is a wonderful horse for him who takes very good care of him. If you notice the yellow green bandana under his helmet, when he was doing the trail pattern it kept slipping down over his eyes. Even though at times it was over his eyes, they did an awesome job. She took care of him and did her thing. It was awesome to watch. He didn't want grandma taking his pictures. He was the 2014 Novice High Point rider for the day. We are so proud of him. He was tired but he did an awesome job.

I tried to get a picture of him with his trophy. His face was lit up with smiles. They were to show again this afternoon, but it got rained out so that let grandma go watch Ethan's team  play for the championship. They lost by one run, but they still played awesome.

Matt had his first appointment with the physical therapist at Children's Mercy hospital. His mom made all of the appointments that he will need as follow-ups while she was there because she is to hard to get in to see. She is the only one certified.  I am hoping that she can solve  the problem with the dizziness and getting sick. We still don't know why he is losing his hearing, but therapist said he had probably been having this problem for quite a while with getting dizzy only now it was to the point where it made him physically sick. She gave him exercises to do at home.
I hope you don't get tired of seeing the kids with their horses.Jake seemed like he was stuck in a rut with his placements, but he was in larger groups.

They let them wear tee shirts after a certain point in the afternoon. Grandma survived just fine other then sunburning the end of my nose.
We had storms last night so the horse show was cancelled for them today. They got to rest.  I don't know how much rain we got, but my son said they had over an inch. I just know at first I thought it was fireworks that they shoot off when the Mustangs are at home in town. I soon learned otherwise.
I have one week of chauffeuring left then it will be getting back to my regular routine. I need to get back on a custom order I am working on and you all probably all tired of my rambling. Have a wonderful week. Try to stay cool if you are out in the heat. Take care.

Summertime

This is the way that the sky is looking this morning when I got up early to take my grandson to the college for his first day of Drivers Training.  He was up and ready to go I think a little anxious. This afternoon he is going to go take his written exam then we will go see hubby since I didn't make it over the weekend.  My payment is  a cup of coffee from Breaktime.  I had a busy three days with the 4th of July cookout with my family. We could sit on their  covered deck and watch not only their fireworks and  other fireworks from the surrounding area. It makes you wonder just how much money was spent because of the time they started selling them and they started shooting them off. I know my neighborhood finally got quiet around 12:30 each night with most being shot off the last three days.
They had a celebration for the patients at the nursing home on the 2nd with hot dogs, chips, watermelon, and root beer floats. We could either have tea or lemonade to drink. We were going to watch from hubby's room, but they parked the ambulance in front of it so we went outside. They had a nice about 40 minute firework  show plus other entertainment. I think my favorite part was when they retired the flag and raised the new one. The folding ceremony of the old  flag was impressive.
I got to be chauffeured over the weekend which was enjoyable just to sit back and watch the scenery.  I got my yard cut yesterday. My grandson wanted to know if I wanted to see about baling it. It was getting tall, but when they planned on mowing it we got a pour down rain. We have flooding in the low lying areas across town from all of the rain plus what they are releasing from the dam up north. I don't know how much rain we got. I just know  it came fast and furious with small hail and you couldn't see the house across my driveway.
The outdoor wedding that we went to on Saturday you couldn't ask for a better day. It poured down rain here, but they had sunshine down at Excelsior Springs. It was at the Elms if you have heard of it. It was the first time I have ever been there. The reception was inside with a buffet dinner.  My daughter and I had a wonderful time and the bride was so pretty.  We could have gone to the brunch on Sunday with the family. The girls skating together along time ago.
The next two weeks I will be taking my grandson to the college.  His brother is going to see the physical therapist this week. They have waited for quite a while since there is   such a shortage in the kind of therapy that he needs with his hearing problem. They have to take him to Children Mercy in Kansas City or Lincoln, Nebraska.  It is closer to go to Kansas City. They have found if he gets to tired he gets sick.  He keeps his trash can close to his bed. You have to love him with his independence that he shows. He knows what he can and can't do.  It doesn't really slow him down. He still goes 90 miles a hour or so it seems.
After the fireworks was over, my youngest grandson wanted everyone to go home because he wanted to go to bed. The boys enjoyed shooting off their fireworks.  Some was still shooting them off last night, but not as late.
Hope all of you had a safe holiday and enjoy the week. Take care.

ROUGH FEW DAYS

Storm clouds moving into our area. i don't like it when we have tornadoes on both sides of us and you don't really know where they are going. To many of those lately and it doesn't matter where you live. As some of you know, I live in what they call tornado alley. It always bothers me when they tell me we are in a tornado watch. Last night I talked to my daughter while she drove home. She was telling me about how the sky looked. She went through a wall cloud, and thankful it was only heavy rain. We have flood water in the low lying areas along the Missouri River which is across town from me.
At least  it cooled it down from the temperatures that we have been having the last few days. We have sunshine and 76 degrees right now. I can handle that for a change.
My grandson Matt tried Mutton Bustin this last Saturday evening. I didn't get to see it, but dad has it on video. I am anxious to watch. He is my dare devil and not really scared of anything. I don't know if that is good or bad.
I love the picture of us and our three boys. Ethan in the middle is the youngest. My ornery one is in the front sitting beside his grandpa. They are the ones that keep me going and help me keep active. I don't really know what I would do if I didn't have my family and grandchildren to help keep my sanity.
Trying to get someone to listen to you, is like pulling teeth at times. Sometimes easy, and sometimes you wonder if you will get it done at all.
Another horse tea towel off the hoop. I am working on a baby quilt right now for a change of scenery. I have almost two blocks done and will start the third one this afternoon while I am at the nursing home.
Hope you all have a safe 4th of July. They are having fireworks tomorrow evening for the nursing home patients and their families. The 4th  I will go to my daughter's. Then on Saturday evening she and I will be going to a wedding. So it is busy, but it is the way I like it. It helps makes the days go by.
If you are traveling be safe, but have a wonderful 4th of July. Take care

Busy Busy

My sunset at the Horse arena Saturday evening while I was watching the games. It was hot. I left for a while in the afternoon because it was to hot. I didn't get accomplished what I went for. I was trying to deliver a custom order, but didn't get the job done either Saturday or Sunday so I put them in my etsy shop. I told the customer  that she could purchase them there. She had a chance to pick them up the weekend before and didn't. I was trying to be nice.
The boys showed Sunday which was cooler then the day before. We had Cowboy church before the show started which was to benefit those who wanted to show, but didn't want to miss church. It was a good service.
Sunday was a better day until the storm came through in the afternoon, but it was fast enough moving that we got to finish
the show. Only one accident which ended up with a girl having a horse fall on her. She ended up with a concussion. The horse was o.k. It got up and stood right beside her as though it was protecting her until help came. We were lucky to have some people that show who have medical experience one way or another there, but when she didn't know the day or where she was at it was a trip to the hospital.
My grandson and Fergie got first in his group. He is really in his own world making sure he was doing the right thing. He even took himself down to the gate to wait for his event. He told us that he was ready. His dad asked him if he knew his pattern for his trail event later. He says yeah and started telling dad what he had to do. He loves to ride.
My youngest grandson's ball team won Friday night 18-4. They went undefeated for their level. We are so proud of them. They will play in the tournament next month. Who would believe it is almost the end of June? Does anyone know where the month has gone. It seemed like it just got started and then it was gone.  It has been very busy for me to where I just haven't had enough hours in a day to accomplish everything I wanted to do.
Hubby hasn't been feeling good which has been a concern. I am trying to figure out if it was due to medication or if we had another problem. He was a little better today when I went to see him, but yesterday I should have stayed home with all of the sleeping that he did. They even checked him to make sure the blood oxygen and blood sugar was o.k.and he didn't even know it. With a liver that only works part-time meds can build up in his system. I know the ammonia level is higher then it should be. We just keep working and praying each day. I want to thank those of you have been praying for us. I know that is what has got us this far.
I talked to my oldest tonight. He is working Baytown, Texas until after the 4th and then he doesn't know where he is going next. He doesn't mind traveling if it means working. He said that it was storming down there. We had some storms pop up and looked bad, but didn't go ahead and materialize.
Hope you all are doing o.k. with the crazy weather and staying as cool as possible. It is hard I know.  You all take care. I am being chauffeur again tomorrow. We were hunting for a new tire for my sons riding mower.

Latest at My House

I have been away from the computer for a few days with other things happening in my life. It has been rather hectic schedule with not everything getting finished that I want done. I have been stopping by when I could , but when you are not on your computer you don't leave comments very well or at least I don't.
The rain and storms haven't helped the horse showing. They got cancelled so we are hoping to get this weekend in, but it remains to be seen. The weather has been so unpredictable.
Tomorrow I am chauffeur again taking my oldest and his adopted brother out to throw hay bales. His mom or who they are working for will see that they get home. I just hope that they don't get to hot. It has been very hot and windy in our area.
Our youngest grandson's baseball team is still undefeated. They have played really well this summer, but then they practice at least twice a week. They just don't go and play their game. Their last game is Friday night then the following month they are going to play in a tournament. He is having an enjoyable summer and he is getting so tall. He is Mr. Personality and talks to everybody. I don't know if that is good or bad. We just try to watch where he is at when he is not playing ball.
Our oldest son is headed for Houston in the morning early. He is going to be working there for a couple of weeks. He doesn't care where  he goes as long as he is working. I got to visit with him today for awhile on the phone. It was good to hear his voice and know  that he is doing o.k.. He was waiting on a phone call to get all of his last minute instructions before he leaves. He will find out when he gets there just what is going to be involved.

I thought I would show you a couple of my new tea towels that I have finished. I did a show over the weekend. It was fun. It stayed on the cool side and with their air on I wore my sweater. I was just glad that it was in the car. I try to always have one with me because some restaurants and other stores are so cold. I gave out quite a few business cards so will just have to wait and see what happens.  I sold some. It was one of those spur of the moment decision. I thought my bat and candy corn Halloween towel turned out cute. I have  four new ones in my etsy shop. The hands have been busy while I have been at the nursing home.
I don't know if hubby's ammonia level is going up or if we have a medication that is causing his hands to shake. Normally it was a sign that tells me the ammonia level was going up, but there is another medication in the mix and it can cause problems too. They are suppose to do blood work in the morning. They will start with that first and go from there. I will just have to keep asking for reports as to what they find out. I just don't want it to get to far out of hand before the issue is addressed.
It is still hot out and it is 10 P.M.. I broke down and turned the air on. I didn't really want to do it, but I needed to be able to sleep. I will try to do some catching up with you all and I appreciate your visits. Take care and be careful.

A Little of this and that

A pony that a little boy can love all over and she just lets him do it. People have wanted to buy her, but they don't want to sell her because she was his first pony. It was hot that day and you can tell he was bored because of the size of the class. It almost looked as though he was going to take a nap. Our two shows have been cancelled this weekend because of all of the storms and rain that we have received this week. We have a couple of places that the water stands which doesn't help.
Tuesday night we had tornadoes to the west and east of us and I don't like being in the middle, but we had the winds,  lightening. A transformer blew in the neighborhood, but it wasn't one that effected me. Some lost their electricity, my sons was still off when my DIL went to work.  I was lucky that I didn't lose mine. I just know I didn't sleep good and I had to be up to go with hubby to the doctor's office. We got a good report from her. She isn't changing anything, but I hate that word "Maintaining". I keep praying for a miracle. I was glad that we weren't down there yesterday with the storms they were getting. We did get headed home before former Vice-President Dick Cheney arrived in town. They were getting ready to block streets. It was awesome to see the huge flag raised at the Broadway bridge as we crossed it and I didn't have my camera with me.

Any body want to play ball. My oldest was trying to get the ball between to cones. You had to do that before you could try the next thing. They had fun.
I didn't get to go to the show this past weekend, but Matt and Fergie got reserve high point in his age group. Really proud of him and brother missed reserve high point by one point because he didn't get his flag on the inside of the barrel instead it was hanging on the outside. He did get first in poles which made him happy. They had fun and that was all that mattered. Dad got be a dad for the boys and enjoy it instead of having to do other things. It is the same day that Platte County uses our arena for their 4 h show. Normally he had to be there, but the V/P filled in for him and did a beautiful job.
Another humid day with possibilities of storms again today. Hopefully it waits until my youngest grandson gets through with day camp for scouts. He couldn't miss summer school because he was going to get to be on the computer. We all know how important that is right.
I am not looking forward to going to the nursing home today. I have to address a couple of issues. Why can't people just do their jobs like they are suppose to do. I have the feeling that I will probably just get lip service, but I won't go away until they address the issue. At least this year he can watch the fireworks out his window if he wants to instead of going outside.
I need to get going so I had better bring it to a close. I appreciate all of you who take the time to read my ramblings and leave a comment. It means the world to me right now. I will keep popping in and out of your blogs, just be patient with me. I got my custom order done and is ready for delivery. Have a great weekend. Be safe and careful. The storms pop up really fast.

Scattered Showers and Dark Sky

This was looking at the sky when I got home this evening from the ballgame that they won 19-0. They had one of the other teams  watching them play that they are to play next week. They have been lucky, but they also have practice two times a week. They are constantly working with the boys and girl when she is there to play better.  It was a little warm this evening watching. The clouds really looked like it was going to rain, but all we got was a sprinkle and it rained on me coming home just enough to be a nuisance to where you had to run the wipers. The rainbow was pretty to look at as I was driving home.
Look at what was back at our airport again this week. They had school going on with several different countries here taking part in it. Our c-130's fly over the house quite often. We use to go over to the cafe at the airport so we could watch the planes. You never knew who or what you were going to see. The life fight helicopter that is stationed  there can land at the hubby's nursing home. We watch it land and take off when they had the health fair.
Have you ever priced a walk-in bath tub? Well I did and I was absolutely shocked at the price. Believe me they are far from being cheap. I think they are made of gold.
I won't get to watch the boys ride this weekend. I have a bridal shower that I am going to with my daughter. The shower gift is done except for pressing so you probably know what she is getting. I will post pictures after this weekend. Something new that I did and I really liked how it turned out.
My oldest won't be going to summer school. They didn't have enough kids sign up for it. I don't know if he was disappointed or not. I was looking forward to playing chauffeur for him and his friend. Oh!well I can understand where they are coming from if they don't have enough to make it worthwhile. .
I finished up two custom orders this week so you know my hands have been busy, but when you don't have a lot of changing colors they go faster. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I will be popping in and out as time permits. We have a doctor appointment this next week. Hopefully the doctor can give us some answers. I just keep hoping for a miracle. It is always better to thinking positive then negative.
Have a wonderful weekend. Take care.

MEMORIAL WEEKEND

The sky at one point today. We have only had a light shower so far today, but it is on the chilly side. It makes you wonder who is going to get the rain. I would have liked some sunshine and maybe 70's today.
Cookouts aren't going to be that much fun for sure, but though a bonfire might feel good with the dampness of the air. They can be thankful that the races were last night instead of tonight.

My younger two grandsons with Legos playing with a  portion of Matt's. It  isn't even a small portion of what my middle grandson has in the way of legos. He wanted some more today, but he didn't have enough money for them. They are both very creative when it comes to building.
It keeps him quiet and at times that is what he needs. The bigger of the two is the youngest. He has already put in his order of what he wants for his birthday which isn't until August. He wants his Aunt Trish to make him one of the cobblers that she makes over the open fire and Uncle Pat to bring one of the horses to ride. She hasn't baked a birthday cake in quite awhile because everybody loves the cobblers. They do the cobblere for the Pumpkin fest in October as a fun raiser for the club.
This is the first year FFA member's at my grandson's high school. A nice group and they all have different interest. School for the older two ends Wednesday. Then summer school will start. It is going to be a busy summer. It will really go by fast.

Hubby over did his walking and so the hip is giving him problems. I keep telling him he has to build up his distance each time not try to do it all in one day. I told the nurse who walks him to not let him go so far, but make him do it more gradual. We didn't go outside today because it was just to cool and damp.
Hope you all are enjoying your weekend. If traveling, please be safe. We have already had several accidents in our area. They just need to slow down. Take care.

Stormy Morning

The morning started off with thunder, lightening and rain with the temperature in the 50's. My electricity was off for a while for some reason but I don't know why.
The view outside hubby's window. He can look at the roses and watch the temperature gauge besides seeing who comes and goes in the parking lot. He likes the view so much better then the old room, plus has had better roommates.
The first horse show of the season is over and you needed to dress warm. We started the morning with frost on the ground and finally late afternoon it warmed up to the low 60's.

Matt got to show Fergie and that is the horse that he will show this season. He didn't do games and he didn't really want to do it. He did halter, trail, and walk trot. He looks so little on such a big horse, but then she takes care of him. All of the horses wasn't really liking the cool weather. They wanted to stay where it was warmer. Brother only did games in the afternoon. I don't know why we didn't show that morning. He wouldn't answer my question. He was doing o.k. because he got to ride Mud Bug for one of the other club member. He acts up with the owner, but didn't with Jake. We will see what happens at the next horse show.

Miss Bailey rode Cleo in the grand entry. She had never rode her until that morning and Cleo had never been around the flag before. They did an awesome job and Bailey told Jake it was a girl thing that Cleo behave so good. She rode her again in egg and spoon.

We actually were through before dark, but then we started at 9 A.M. Dad spend his time being in the arena with the judge.

I have been keeping busy embroidering tea towels. Horses, cows, you name it. I just have to keep the hands busy with something.

Well I need to get myself in gear and run my errands. I  had to wait until today to get my meds. The pharmacy didn't have enough to fill the order. It seems to happen that way quite often.

I have been praying for all of my friends during the stormy weather. Hoping they survived the flooding, the fires in Arizona and all of the other happenings. If you ride a motorcycle, please be careful. We have had one killed and one in the hospital in serious condition. Have a wonderful holiday weekend. Traveling be safe. Take care
