A windy day

The louvers on the building across the street  are banging  because of the wind today. It is that time of the year when we get the storms. I am not ready for that, but you never know when it is going to happen. I pray for those in Nashville and others affected by storms lately.
It will be a few days before I see my family with the flu going around. I have been very lucky so far and not been sick and I want it to continue.
We  have had some nice beautiful weather with the temperature in the 60's. I take advantage of those days except when it is really windy. I don't want to get blown over.
I have been working on a new baby blanket which is progressing. It is not like some that I have done where you have to change to a lot of different colors. I like the pastels which makes you think of a baby.
Have you managed to escape the flu so far?  One of my sons and son-in-law have had it so I am not going to see either one of those for now.
Spring break is around the corner. Not everybody gets one and some are using them to make up days from being out because of bad weather.
The time is sure flying. It seems as though a month just gets started and then it is gone. I guess that is a sign that I am getting older which I hate to admit. I am glad that I can stay by myself. I like sleeping until 10 in the morning on a weekend, eating on my schedule and what I want to eat.
   Have a great weekend.

I am so glad that your time is your own, Shirley. That is absolutely wonderful! I know that baby blanket will be beautiful.
No flu for any of us here but we know it is coming. I worry about John going in and out of the hospital to visit patients...not good! xo Diana

I feel th e exact same way, Shirley! I love that I can go to bed and get up, eat or not and do what I want when I want to do it for the most part. I'm grateful I don't have to go to work or be responsible for anyone other than Louis Dean and myself. I treasure every single minute.

You are wise to stay away from those who are sick. I came down with a cold last month when I worked in the school book fair. Louis Dean is 83 and I try to keep him away from sickness if at all possible. Of course I shared MY cold with him!

Shirley, Happy to see you blogging again. I love seeing your cute things you embroider. Oh yes, stay away from sick households. That is what I am doing. I have had a flu shot...but with Ted's bone marrow transplant his immune system was wiped out. He had his first round of baby shots last month. So I absolutely have to stay well . Take care fo yourself . Blessings to you and your family, xoxo, Susie

We have had a life of tending to and considering other's needs before our own, haven't we. It seems like I still wait on Terry hand and foot, but I think of it as conserving HIS energy and am grateful that I can still move around so freely. We never "plan" anything and just do whatever when ever. So many people die shortly after they retire and we are grateful that we have had a few so far and look forward to more. We often comment to each other about how did we EVER get up and go to work all those years. We both started working when we were about 13. Yet another thing to be grateful for...we passed a great work ethic on to our kids.

Stay well.
xx, Carol
